I ran out of Rusk Thermal Shine Spray, the only product I used when I started using a hot iron (straight iron). I couldn't find Rusk Thermal Shine Spray in the stores in this small town so I used other products on my hair to protect it from the hot iron. My hair started breaking off, it was a mess. I have long, long hair and it became very noticeable. Found this product, Rusk Thermal Shine Spray, on line and ordered it thru Amazon. In order to get free shipping I had to order 4 cans but that's okay. I spent a lot less ordering on line for one can then I would have paid at the store and I will not run out again. When I'm on that last can I will order it again. This product doesn't leave your hair sticky and I love the smell. My hair is soft, it shines and it's not breaking off any more. This product is amazing. I had a big brown scar from burn and it was very ugly. I had it for over 3months, and it wasn't healing. After losing half my nose (on one side) due to basal/squamous cell carcinoma (wear your sunscreen!), I had facial reconstruction. Although a miracle restoration, I had a major skin coloration difference that was quite visible. The Cover Blend really made this unnoticeable. My only wish is that there was a 'color palette' available to purchase (with a small quantity of perhaps 3-4 shades) so that the proper match could be determined before ordering the full amount. There's a 'lifetime supply' of the one you order, so be prepared to accept the shade you've selected. This product is easy to apply and offers full coverage of surgical scarring and discoloration. I'd recommend it unreservedly. BTW, I don't know why my reviews appear under my husband's name, but I am female and very conscious of how I look.

I purchased this sunscreen after finding it's review on EWG.I appreciate that the film is not very heavy and fades after some time, important given we are African American.I also found it to indeed be water resistant as kids went swimming the first time it was used.I hate most sunscreens leave then looking like ghost . However to my disappointment I cannot find a reasonable price quality product in the quantity I need for my kids everyday use.I used it up in no time, but I will purchase it again.

I tried 4 of the top rated sunscreens when looking for a physical (non-chemical) sunscreen.Most worked pretty well, but they all had their pros and cons.Some were a little sticky or thick, some were not as water resistant as others.
This one was my favorite choice:
1) Seemed to have the best water resistance.The sunscreen did not run off ... seems to do well in working itself onto the skin.
2) Texture and smell was great.A light citrus scent and non greasy, non sticky feel.
3) Goes on easy and smooth
4) Good sun protection ... very consistent
5) Priced lower than many other physical sunscreens
It's came out on top and is my only choice now.

Started using this on my 1 year old and 3 year old...and then myself.It's hard to find a sunblock that isn't greasy or thick.This one works well and is easy to apply.For me, I like the light citurs scent.No matter what others may claim as 'unscented', they always have a certain odor to them which I am tired of.This was a nice change.I've already ordered more for the Spring season and made sure to get one for myself in the adult version.

I have been using Carmex for more than 20 years. My lips chap very easily and many products that are supposed to heal or help with cracked lips end up causing my lips to peel and crack. I bought this lotion because I was having problems getting my normal lotion from Lancome. My esthetician recommended this brand to me so I thought I would try it out. I really do like this lotion. We have two toddlers and this by FAR is the easiest sunscreen out there to apply. Not greasy at all, soaks right in, and leaves no sticky film. It's just like applying regular lotion, except it also protects from the sun. I used to use the California Baby product, but applying sunscreen to them is like calf roping and they would always end up looking purple white afterwards. This stuff makes the job easy.
I have a very squirmy toddler who hates having sunscreen applied, and this brand is the only one we use for everyday wear. It is easily absorbed and not greasy, and as a result I can get it on my daughter rather quickly. Unlike other brands like California Baby, it does not leave a thick white residue that requires a lot of rubbing in. The Beach Baby brand is great for every day use when the child is not going to get wet. I do, however, get waterproof lotion for when we are going to the pool or the beach. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer, 4.2 Ounce
I have sensitive combination skin that is more on the oily side and I purchased this because I needed a new day time moisturizer that was not greasy. The moisturizer is not greasy at all, but something in the lotion was making me break out after a week of use. I looked up the ingredients on their website and found that mineral oil is listed as an ingredient, but it wasn't listed on the box when I purchased it. I also think it is the mineral oil that is irritating my skin, as another reviewers have commented on. I also thought the lotion was not very hydrating. My skin still felt tight after applying so I would have to apply more. I guess I will have to keep searching...

Ever since going through "the change", the skin on my face is dry.Used to be oily but not anymore.Especially in the dry months of winter I have to frequently apply lotion.I was hoping this product would at least last a couple of hours before having to be renewed.I'm sorry to only give it 2 stars but I'm just not all that thrilled with it.And besides that, it sort of burns.I'm wondering if the burning sensation is due to the NaOH that is listed in the ingredients.It does have a nice, light scent which doesn't make me feel ill like a lot of perfumed products do.

I have sensitive skin that requires me to be very careful about the products I use. While most sunscreens these days protect against sunburn, did you know that very few of them actually protect against photodamage? Photodamage is the damage that the sun does to your skin symptoms of which are brown spots, wrinkles and such.Only two sunscreen ingredients protect against the long UVAI rays that cause photodamage; zinc oxide and Parsol 1789. Zinc Oxide protects a broader range of these rays than does Parsol 1789. This sunscreen has Parsol 1789 (Avobenzone). It's good, and certainly offers more photo damage protection than most, but a sunscreen with zinc oxide would be better still. Zinc Oxide is also less irritating, it's even found in some baby care products.Because Parsol 1789 is a chemical rather than a physical sunscreen like Zinc Oxide, some may experience irritation with Neutrogena Dry Touch.
This Neutrogena goes on very smooth and dry and you can't even tell you are wearing suncscreen. This is very nice, although it does have a bit of a scent which I don't like (I would prefer it be non scented, I don't like smelling like soap-Neutrogena, are you listening?). All in all, for the money this is good sunscreen for either your face or your body and it is particularly good for oily skin as it will make your skin seem less oily.
But if you are willing to spend a bit more money, check out a zinc oxide sunscreen such as Skinceuticals Ultimate 30 which offers a bit more protection and is less irritating (zinc oxide is less irritating that Parsol 1789). And most certainly at least get a sunscreen with Parsol 1789 such as this one.

This is the only sunblock I use now.It isn't greasy, dries quickly, is relatively water/sweat resistant, and really blocks the sun.
I used it when I went kayaking and it saved me from a painful burn.The areas that I didn't apply the sunblock carefully are burnt and peeling.The neat part is you can see my fingermarks on the areas that I carelessly slapped some sunblock on and that proves how well this product can work (if used properly).

This is the 2nd year that I have used the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, SPF 45.I have Normal to Oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. I am fair and can burn easily.
I think this product is well worth the money, it is quickly absorbed into the skin and has a dry feel.It does not make your skin look greasy and has never caused me to break out.I apply it in the morning and it pretty much lasts me a good 8 hours.The time will vary depending on your sun tolerance, though.It is also conveniently sized to toss in your bag and lasts quite awhile.

Because of a family history of skin cancer (non-fatal, fortunately), I must wear sunblock on my face all the time, even just walking outside in NYC.Since I usually apply sunblock just after shaving, the choice of product is very important.My dermatologist suggested that I might try this Neutrogena sunblock.It has a very high SPF and blocks the UV A and B rays, and seems to dry up entirely without any evidence that it was ever there.
Apparently they have added an ultra-fine silica powder which contains the greasy look and feel.
In any case, I liked it and it seems to work very well. Unscented, which is good for me too.

I have been using this sunscreen for over a year and love it! I am so happy to have found a sunscreen with the lack of chemicals. I am very picky about using any products on my skin that are not from my kitchen-my skincare involves honey masks, yogurt, coconut oil, and extra virgin olive oil. Unfortunately, the kitchen cupboard cannot protect my skin from the UV rays so I have to rely on companies that claim to be organic. This product rates a safe 2 on the EWG database and provides excellent protection. If I have a baby anytime soon, I will probably choose this product to slather all over his/her skin. I highly recommend this product for its safety and it is easy on the pocketbook.

I've been using this sunscreen for 2 years now and just recently purchased another pack. It takes a bit longer than other sunscreens to rub in, but once you do the whiteness goes away. It doesn't really have much of a smell, and works very well.For now, I'm just reviewing on consistency. It seems like every time we have found time to go out this summer, it has been overcast, so I can't rate on sun protection just yet. I bought this product to use on my infant, since I wanted something more natural than traditional sunscreens. This also got a good rating on EWGs sunscreen guide. I do know mineral sunscreens can leave you a bit ghostly-looking, since the zinc/titanium dioxide don't rub in all the way. This, however, rubs in beautifully! I think that must be the "very emollient" part of the name. It is thick, and initially you might worry that it's not rubbing in all the way. Once it warms up a bit from rubbing though, it melts right in. I put some on myself as well (olive-toned skin since baby white is hard to tell!) and I didn't look ashy at all.
