Free of "harmful" chemicals, if you're the type of person "aware" of the issue, this is a relatively safe produce, rated 3/10 on the EWG group, my last sunscreen was a at a whopping 7/10, then I found out about all the iffy stuff about sunscreen. Scare tactic? Who knows? The science is there. Anyways this is a huge reason why I bought this.

Not gritty, liquid paste relatively easy to put on.

Easily purchasable in your local stores unlike the "premium" and "safe" brands (Badger, California Baby and etc), I for one was forced to buy those sunscreens here on Amazon, this one I just walked over to any store.

Cons

It does not absorb as well as one could hope, therefore there is a white shade left over no matter what you do. It's not horrifying white, but tolerable. Don't apply it and go outside immediately, apply it well before hand so people don't think you're a ghost, assuming you're not at the beach.

Does not work so well if you work out with it, there is a pooling of the stuff on the creases of your skin (elbow) as you perspire, so either it's just the superficial stuff that didn't absorb pooling together or the stuff does not absorb well to begin with, you decide. This isn't really a CON though (it's a beach sunscreen if anything), but it was the ONLY sunscreen without harmful chemicals that was easily available so I bought it out of necessity.

Overall: Good safe product, easily purchasable at local stores. Perfect for beach lying around and stuff. Common sense make sure you reapply regularly

It is supposed to be white. It is more of a physical block, rather than a chemical block. Other sunscreens that don't go on white have things that end in "benzone" in them. This has Zinc Oxide in it, which is a natural barrier between your skin and the sun. I am allergic to the things like oxybenzone and avobenzone that are in almost every sunscreen out there. This product works great. It does exactly what it is supposed to do.

My daughter is blonde, blue-eyed, fair skinned. My husband and I are also fair and both burn easily. We tried Aveeno baby 55spf. That didn't go so well (it burned the skin on her face and she cried until we washed it off, it also gets gritty when applied).

This sunscreen doesn't irritate her face, she doesn't complain when we put it on, it is smooth and creamy. There is a white look to it after application, but it seems to go away once it is absorbed. My husband, brother-in-law, and I have all used this as well and without complaint. We have been out with her on very hot, sunny days and she has not gotten burned at all. Yesterday she rubbed her eyes as I was putting it on her face and I stood, terrified that she would start screaming. Nothing happened. :) That would have meant a crying jag with the Aveeno stuff.

The scent is very light, if barely noticable. I plan on using this the rest of the summer for her.

It said not only was it oily free but it will not break out your skin. I am writting this review 5 hours after I applied this sunblock. This product is aweful.I have below the shoulder straight brown hair and due to monthly coloring my hair gets frizzy during the summer months at times.I bought this product with the hope of getting a shine smoothing effect.Not at all.When you first spray this on, it seems ok.Nothing great or smoothing.As the day wears on, you have a sticky, hard abrasive feel to the hair and the smell is aweful.Pureology are the products I find the best.

I am a 22 year old male who was looking for the best physical sunscreen for my skin. I use a retinoid at night so I really needed to avoid chemicals and any other irritants in my skin care products. After exhausting amounts of research I decided to try Devita Solar Protective Moisturizer which seemed like the best option. This product does not smell, it is extremely smooth, and it does go on clear. I tried this product for a good 3 weeks before deciding to quit using it. I gave Devita 2 stars because it did not leave my face white nor did it smell like chalk which is incredible for a physical sunscreen. That is where the goodness stops for me. If you are nervous about this sunscreen, try Burnout. It is non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic. You cannot beat it.

L'Oreal Visible Lift Under Eye Line-Minimizing & Tone-Enhancing Concealer .05 fl oz (1.5 ml)

I've used this concealer for over 2 years and it is one the best ever. I have severe dark circle and dry 40+ skin, so I have to have superior coverage with anti-aging moisturizers/treatments. This concealer covers better than most and is the only one that actually does seem to make the skin under my eyes look better. All other concealers are either drying or just settle in the lines and make me look older or they just don't cover the circles. The only negatives I have to say about it is that the color that matches my skin tone best (193 Light/med) is a little too neutral, I wish it were a little rosier/pinker -AND the amount you get in this little tube is very small and if you use it every day (like me) you will go through it very quickly.

Alsothe reason I ordered it off amazon is that all the drugstores and Ulta stopped selling it and I guess Loreal is making changes to the Visible lift line and have not put out the newest "improved" version yet. My experience has been that when a company makes changes to a product I love and state that it is now "new and improved" it suddenly sucks, and I usually have to find a new product. So I hope I am just being cynical and it turns out to at least be as good as it always has been, we will see...in the meantime I hope to continue finding it on Amazon!

This concealer works as well on my thirteen year old daughter as it does on my dry, older skin (45+). I like it almost as well as YSL's Touche Eclat and it's a fraction of the cost. Goes on sheer so you can layer as necessary. Does not cake or rub off unless you are trying to do so. Unfortunately L'Oreal seem to be reformulating it (hope they don't screw up a good thing) so it's currently almost impossible to find on the shelf. Amazon has, it, thank goodness. Buy while you can.

I am pretty fair, but have a committednatural approach to being tan that includes loads of time in the great outdoors while always coated in sunscreen. Through decades of sunburn trial and error, I only use continuous sprays and I have been very happy with CVS and No-Ad because I use loads and their pricing and quality are really good. I still need an SPF 30 for the first part of the summer, but for the latter half in which I have a base tan, I use SPF 15. It also doesn't wear off on clothes or furniture after you've worn it for a while; meaning, you can go from sitting poolside for a few hours to going out to dinner without the need to take a shower to rid yourself of sunscreen build up.(I would NEVER apply this and get dressed and get in the car!) Even better: a few days later, you can actually see that color has been deposited to your skin because you have an all-over glow that also doesn't fade with normal exfoliation and shaving. I like the way this color deposits and builds color and the way it wears even better than an air-brush spray tan!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Foundation SPF18 Foundation Makeup

I bought this on clearance at a drug store. I used to use an Olay brand foundation that is no longer made, and I've tried a lot of foundations but none of them compared to my Olay stuff---until this. I have dry skin, so I need a foundation that goes on smoothly without making my face greasy. This one really fills in the tiny lines and feels nice. It doesn't make me look like a clown, either. I'm going to stock up on this one before it, too, is no longer available.

I'm not sure about the 'age rewind' part I'm only in my twenties and take pretty good care of my skin but this foundation is one of the best I've ever used (and I've tried a lot!). The coverage is perfect and you can even double it up as a concealer. It doesn't budge when you top it off with translucent powder. High recommended!

()The most helpful input I can provide about this lotion is to clarify the concerns some other reviewers have expressed about the alcohols listed in the ingredients.My guess is that the reviewers thought mistakenly that the ingredients include isopropyl or rubbing alcohol.They do not.The alcohols used in this lotion are emollient forms, not the drying form that we familiarly refer to as (rubbing) alcohol.Wikipedia has a wealth of basic information on the various alcohols.I have copied a few lines from Wikipedia that give you a cursory description of the alcohols that are on the ingredients list of this Neutrogena lotion.

Cetostearyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol or cetylstearyl alcohol [1] is a mixture of fatty alcohols, consisting predominantly of cetyl and stearyl alcohols and is classified as a fatty alcohol. It is used as an emulsion stabilizer, opacifying agent, and foam boosting surfactant, as well as an aqueous and nonaqueous viscosity-increasing agent. It imparts an emollient feel to the skin and can be used in water-in-oil emulsions, oil-in-water emulsions, and anhydrous formulations. It is commonly used in hair conditioners and other hair products.

Now, my evaluation of the Neutrogena ultra gentle soothing lotion: It is just okay.Texture is wonderfully smooth and creamy.SPF at 15 is useful.But I find the scent to be overwhelming (other reviewers found it mild).I am sensitive to the sunscreen ingredients avobenzone, octinoxate, octisalate, which sting when they get in or near my eyes.I will do as other reviewers suggest and use this lovely, smooth lotion on my arms and hands.

Based on previous experience with the Olay products I have used for years (which carry most of the same claims) I made the bad leap in logic of assuming that a product with these claims would also be fragrance free.Wrong!On the side of the box (something you don't get to see when ordering online) is the following statement:

"Contains a gentle hypoallergenic fragrance uniquely developed for sensitive skin."

GENTLE???I had to immediately go wash my hands after testing the first application on the back of my hand because the fragrance was so overwhelming.To write this review, I used it on my hand again, but left it on a while to see if the fragrance dissipated or ceased to bother me.Nope...still bothered me.

I have yet to be able to actually use it on my face or neck, where it is intended to be used.This is disappointing to me, not only because the lotion is now unusable to me but because I am not able to write as thorough a review as I would like.For the record, while the fragrance seemed perfumy on first application, on closer inspection it smells more like it may containe eucalyptus oil.If you are the type who can't handle going into dried flower or candle shops, you will probably be bothered by this fragrance.

What I can tell you (aside from the product's claims and the fragrance) is that the bottle is 4.0 fluid ounces and comes with a pump.The lotion has a lovely consistency, very smooth and creamy between my fingers.If you don't have fragrance sensitivity problems, I think it is probably quite a nice product.I will give mine away to a friend since I am unable to use it.

DeVita Professional Skin Care - Ultra Solar 50 4oz

I ordered this product thinking it was titanium dioxide free, similar to the the regular Devita solar moisturizer.

The product I received had a different ingredient label than the one shown here, and it contains titanium dioxide.

This to me seems very strange since the version shown here proudly advertised being titanium dioxide free.

I also noticed the first ingredient besides the zinc and titanium oxides is water versus the regular moisturizer where aloe is listed before water.

I thought this was going to be a good deal getting 4 oz instead of ~2 for less than twice the price.(Also I was having trouble getting the regular version because they've been updating the packaging and no one seemed to have it in stock.)However if this is just a watered down version with some extra things like titanium in it, this was not a good deal at all.

Also now the regular version is out on discount websites and you can get 2.5 oz for about sixteen dollars.

So I no longer think this was a good deal at all, and this isn't even what I wanted i wanted something titanium dioxide free.

Devita does make great products though, and their regular solar moisturizer is excellent.It's very confusing as to why they would advertise titanium dioxide free as a plus and then turn around and make a product containing it.

I have been using this product for a year and I like that it goes on smooth without a greasy residue. I have oily skin and my skin does not feel greasy, you don't need alot. I have been pale all summer long.

I'm white with rosacea and at high risk for melanoma, so I've tried them all. Mexoryl, nano zinc, titanium dioxide, clear zinc--I used Badger for quite a while on my arms and shoulders, and I liked how organic and natural it was. But it went on chalky, oily AND sticky. There was a lot of rubbing involved, and then washing of hands.

On my face I was using Keys Skincare Solar Rx. This was really my facial go-to sunscreen, but I preferred the feel of their regular moisturizer--the Solar Rx just feels a little tacky (sticky) and you have to rub the white away.

I can't believe this jar of DeVita. It seems like a fine cream and not sunscreen at all!

I had really planned for it to be my sunscreen for shoulders and arms, but I got the jar and put some on my face, and it's amazing. Makes my skin soft and smooth--makes me want to put MORE on, I love this stuff--smells great, absorbs quickly, nothing white, sticky or oily about it.

A friend turned me on to this. A few weeks ago we went to a street festival and we're both fair-skinned and high melanoma risk, so she stopped and asked me if I want to put on some sunscreen. I had a small tube of Solar Rx in my bag, but was curious to try hers, since the times I'd seen her use it, she never seemed desperate to wash her hands after applying it, and also seemed to enjoy applying it.

I put some on my arms and neck and we walked around--no burn. I could not believe how soft it made my skin, how clean it felt, and how good it smelled.

It's expensive, but not as expensive as some of the LaRoche Posay Mexoryl products are -and those are pure chemicals. I used them for a while, but ultimately threw them away and started looking for something with physical shield (zinc) and ingredients I could, well, eat. Aloe, for instance.

This sunscreen is my new favorite. I really can't recommend it enough.

This is the best moisturizer with SPF, I have ever used. It provides 50 SPF, is very moisturizing and yet does not leave any of the white/chalky residue usually associated with sunblock.

PROS: This sunscreen has all natural safe ingredients, is a very high SPF, goes on clear (no whitish residue), and is very light and non-greasy. This sunscreen has the best rating for safety in sunscreens from the ewg.org website. Because it is not greasy at all, it can be used on oily skin and can be reapplied and reapplied throughout the day without building up grease.

CONS: A complaint I do have is that if you get it near your eyes, this formula stings my eyes. It is actually unbearable. SO, to remedy that, I end up having to use a different sunscreen around my eyes. I use "Keys-Soap Solar Rx Therapeutic Sunblock" 30+ SPF around my eyes (see my review for that product) and so far, the Keys Soap brand has not stung my eyes. Another con is that it is not moisturizing, it can leave skin tight and prone to tiny lines. The fact that it is not oily could be a plus for some people, especially those with oily skin (see PROS above)

UPDATE: I've gotten more freckles with this product. I lowered my rating from a 4 to a 3. I don't think it works very well. It should say a 15 SPF, not a 50 SPF. False advertising! I'm still in search of a natural sunscreen that actually blocks out sun for hours. The instructions say to apply every 90 minutes (ridiculous)... who has that kind of time?

Beyond Coastal Natural Spf 30 Sunscreen

My mother has been using this for about a year now.She's had skin cancer so must wear a sunscreen 24/7.This is the only one she's found in years of trying that she can wear everyday and not break out.

The Beyond Coastal sunscreens are the best. I've never gotten burned when using them for a full day of swimming in strong sun. I wrote to the company to see what is happening. Hope this is only mine, no other review mention that disgusting smell.

I was ecstatic to learn about this product.Overall, I am pleased but find it is a little hard to apply.It seems hard to get the product out of the tube and I have to push and push the button over and over.I do like that it makes applying in hard to reach places easier around ears, neck, etc.My 6-year old loves it.I wish it wasn't so expensive.It seems to work no sunburns so far.

I was told that I should look into powder sunblock from a friend with albinism, so I was really excited to try it.Unfortunately my first trial didn't go so well.It was difficult to see on my daughter's fair skin, and I didn't get good coverage and resulted in sunburn.My son, who has slightly darker skin, was much easier to apply it on and he got good coverage from it and no burn.I hold out hope that it will live up to my expectations, but I will continue to test it on me and not my kids until I get the coverage thing figured out.I think that the key to this product is when you think you have good coverage, go over it once more.

I usually by spf 50 but don't really see a big difference in spf 50 and 30 so I went with this package.Headed to Hawaii in a week and have plenty to keep from getting sunburned.I use this product when I work out or just working outside.Stays on without having to be reapplied.Only brand of sunblock I will use.Banana Boat causes alergic reactions on some people (my daughter).Great pricing on this package and I will use everything in it.

The product includes some spray cans and they were sort of snubbed by my wife as she had some prior not so great experience with another brand (spray vs. lotion type).Well, we took to KS with us for 4th of July and I was very pleased with the product.I am mixed heritage so I have darker skin and not prone to 'burn' or redness but I used anyway for the protection and I was very happy with it.You could tell it coated well and felt somewhat like an invisible barrier.I don't mean sticky but just obviously there to do its job.I sweat...easily so was super surprised that the sweat didn't diminish its effectiveness.My wife had no complaints after using on her and our kids.We would definitely buy again.I will say we chose this because it was one of top 10 or so rated by a top consumer rating agency for products because we want something that 'works'!Happy buyer here.Oh there is also like a mini lip balm looking thing but it must be for people with larger lips cause it was a bit narrow for 'body' use.I still don't know what it was for but my wife must of stowed it somewhere cause I haven't seen it since we headed to KS.I think it is for your face actually after I think about it.The spray isn't something I'd put on my face nor the lotion really as I don't live heavy stuff.I could be wrong but maybe the balm thing was for facial areas.Seems logical.Good luck and hope you enjoy.

As a mom, I'm always concerned that I've covered my kids (and myself) evenly with sunscreen, especially at the beach and swimming pool. Although I don't usually like spray bottles, these are so convenient and easy to use, especially for a wiggly child just itching to get moving.

The only problem is that the spray bottles get used up really quickly. The lotion seems to last longer but is certainly not as easy to apply.

I was a little worried that the spray wouldn't protect as well but we've had no trouble with it at all. We just spent three days at the beach with no issues of sunburn. I use the lotion for faces and the spray for bodies.

A great product that lasts in the water and applies easily (just runs out quickly!).

When I first brought this product I was really skeptical but I must say ive had amazing results! Most of my scars disappeared after 6 weeks and my skin tone is so even now!

I read all of the reviews, positive and negative about this product. Would like to point out that anyone can be allergic to any given product; often it has nothing to do with the quality of the product, but your own chemistry. If you itch or break out-then likely you are allergic to it.

THAT SAIDI am 58 years old, have very fair, sensitive skin and rosacea. So I have to be very careful with what I put on my skin. At 58, my skin had gotten saggy and very dull and dry. No glow at all. When I looked at pictures of myself I noticed that my skin had gotten very blotchyage spots that plague fair-skinned folks like myself, even though I have always worn a hat outdoors. Have not been so good with the sunscreen because I hate the way it feels on my face.

I looked at all the products at the drugstore, know that L'Oreal is associated with Lancome, and finally decided on this creme to try to address my age spots.

The creme is very rich, yet absorbs well. It contains light-reflecting particles, so your face immediately looks better. It moisturizes my (very dry) skin very well, without making it greasy or oily. I even put it on my nose and it does not make it oily, greasy, or cause the pores to enlarge.

After using it for a few weeks, not only have the blotches faded a LOT, but my skin texture is definitely improved, which I don't remember being part of the advertised claims. A friend of mine recently told me that my skin was "glowy"well, that hasn't happened for a number of years! I told her I was using this and she looked close-up and then asked me if I was wearing make-up (meaning foundation: and no, I was not). It may not work for everyone, and frankly I have no idea why someone in their early 20s would try it as it is marketed for mature skin. But I am giving it a glowing report: works well, does not irritate my delicate, sensitive skin, seems to be helping fade my rosacea, improves my skin texture, and gives my face a natural, non-greasy "glow". My skin is now very soft to the touch, as opposed to rough and dry like it was before.

I use this along with a Clarisonic facial skin cleaner and Zia Skin Basics Moisturizing Cleanser (very gentle), and the combination of all of these products has improved the look and texture of my skin noticeably, and has also made it noticeably tighter. Alsoit contains a 30 SPF sunscreen, so that will help prevent new skin damage from forming.

I bought this product along with the cleaner and serum and it took me a few weeks to realize (but I did) that it was the cause of my face feeling itchy for days and days. As soon as I switched back to my regular brand of moisturizer, the itching stopped. I have sensitive skin and should've known better than to try it.

I have been using this for awhile now, primarily while I was backpacking around Mexico and Central America. I try to wear SPF at least on my face, especially because of wrinkles, etc. It is very hydrating and works-once in a great while I'd get a red nose maybe, and keep in mind I was in very hot and sunny countries! It isn't completely natural, the sunscreen ingredients are partly chemical-but are the "safer" chemicals. Overall for the price and effectiveness I am happy with it, and will be taking it on the road again!
