Once I decided to whiten my skin I began researching the process of skin whitening and the best CHEAP products that you can use to do so.The most important thing I discovered is that it is common for skin whitening products to contain Mercury which can cause many serious health problems such as nerve damage and kidney damage.Another harmful substance commonly found in these products is hydroquinone.It is considered to be a carcinogen and its use in over-the-counter products has been banned by the FDA.
Luckily through my internet research I discovered that this product has been tested and does NOT contain any Mercury.This pagecontains a PDF of research & testing done on Mexican skin whitening products. (You can see the charted test results on page 4 of the PDF.)
Perlop claims on their website that their Concha Nacar cream does not contain any hydroquinone.I have chosen to believe this because the product contains various natural skin lightening agents, such as oyster shell, lemon juice, bees wax, honey, seaweed, volcanic clay and lanolin.They seem to be quite proud of their use of all-natural ingredients.Also, the whitening process of this product is rather slow, which is another indication that it does not contain hydroquinone.Hydroquinone is known (and desired) for its fast results.
ANYWAYS, here is my actual review on the product, now that you know it is safe to use on your body.
First of all, this is a product that you will be using over an extended period of time, therefore you will need more than one container.If you use it every single day on your face and neck, one container should last you about 10-14 days.This is the absolute best deal I could find on both Amazon and eBay.The total (including shipping) was $26.24, so each individual unit cost me only $4.38!! I have yet to find a better deal.Shipping time was not ideal; I placed my order on Saturday June 30th and it was not shipped until Friday July 6th.Not hugely important, but still something I think needs improvement. This is actually not a 'face cream' as one might think, it is actually a face mask that is quite viscous and chunky.Using it as a face cream is virtually impossible.You leave it on your skin for 30-60 minutes each day (I recommend the full 60).I do not recommend leaving it on longer than 80 minutes max.I left it on for 2 hours once and the cream had dried up a litte, and there were tiny holes in the mask above each of my pores like they were suffocating and trying to breathe.. it was really weird.. and creepy looking...I also noticed that a lot of my pores were clogged with gunk after I had washed off the mask.Just leave it on for 1 hour, that is plenty of time especially if you use it every day.If you leave it on any longer it will clog your pores.
I recommend using this product along with Likas Papaya Skin Whitening Soap (which I also recommend buying in bulk as you need to use it for a long period of time to get results).This is another *CHEAP* all-natural product that I have found through internet research to not contain harmful substances.I have been using the Likas soap multiple times on my face & neck every day (for 18 days now) along with daily use of the Concha Nacar de Perlop mask (for 11 days now).. I have noticed some results.. it is not dramatic but my skin is whiter.I have been using just the Likas soap on my arms almost every day since July 2nd, I cannot say that I have noticed any lightening.But, I am still on my first bar, this is the very beginning of the process.You just have to be patient and happy with the fact that you are using the safest, cheapest products on the market.

I think this mask does work.
For first few weeks of use, you might get some pimple but eventually it will disappears after several time of use.
It does moisturize and makes feel skin brighter.
