Eco Lips Lip Balms

Eco Lips: Petroleum-Free Lip Balm, Mint 0.15 ozLove this product! I have a lot of sensitivities to preservatives in chapstick, blistex, etc. I tried this, and it is great stuff. It goes on smoothly, and prevents my lips from being chapped with all natural ingredients. I keep one in my makeup drawer, and one in my purse. It's not too greasy and goes on well under lipstick too. It doesn't really have a taste or smell, which I like. My husband doesn't mind it either, though he prefers the more waxy chapstick feel. Since this product is natural, it does "go bad" faster than traditional chapstick products. I think that they don't use chemicals to preserve it (which is why I like it), so be prepared to replace every couple months if kept in a relatively warm place. I think I will try keeping my extra backups in the fridge as an experiment.

I've had chronic chapped lips that get even worse during winter time. It's as if my lips would shed a layer every...single...day and would ALWAYS look dry and 'chapped'.

I've tried most of the major brands in the pharmacy (blistex, chapstick, medicated, carmex, shea/cocoa butter, etc) and NONE of them work properly. In fact, they ALL actually made my lips even more chapped!

Then I randomly came across this at a local Wholefoods for about $3.49 and figured I give it a try.

WOW....within a DAY my lips were healed! I've never had this type of result with any other skin-related product. I don't remember the last time my lips have been so soft and NOT chapped at all. This product is amazing and it gets absorbed well, doesn't leave a glossy coating. And as stated above, I didn't buy it from Amazon but I'm leaving this feedback because I use Amazon frequently and I'm sure it will help others decide.

I actually lost this chapstick 2 days ago and my lips began to chap right away. Wholefoods isn't very close to me, so I went to a local Vitamin Shoppe instead. They didn't carry this specific chapstick, so I tried an organic shea/cocoa butter chapstick for $5! It went on glossy and greasy. I'm a guy and don't want shiny lips. After a few hours, my lips began to chap, peel and even scab. I wish I knew why this happens to me but I have no clue.

Anyhow, I drove to the Wholefoods, bought 2 more of these Ecolips chapstick and I kid you not by the next day my lips were soft and fully healed again. Amazing.

My husband used to be a fan of Carmex when me met and I was using Burt's Bees. Then we tried Ecolips. Now this is by far our favorite brand. He has been a loyal fan of the hemp formulation while I have fluttered about trying several different formulations. I believe the Organic Gold (the dark blue tube) is now my favorite. One caveat, I stocked up and bought too many different Ecolips formulations. I didn't use them up fast enough and had to throw out some of the mint formulations because the mint essential oils had gone rancid. I never thought of that, but now it seems obvious--if you buy a natural product it is not going to keep like Chapstick. My other formulations are holding up, so it seems it's just the mint formulations that are more delicate.

I've been suffering with frequent cold sores since I was a kid. A few years back I looked in to something that would help and even prevent them and I finally came across Eco Lips Medicinal lip balm. Since using this as a regular lip balm my cold sore outbreak have decreased dramatically. This balm contains tea tree which is an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral(cold sores)so it's very beneficial. The balm also moisturizes better than any other balm I used before. I bought my girlfriend a stick to try it and now it's all she uses, even though she doesn't get cold sores. I highly recommend this product even if you don't suffer from cold sores.

Also, If you do feel a cold sore coming(tingling or swelling sensation) buy some regular tea tree oil and apply it directly on the area and sometimes they don't even outbreak. I've notice it has to be done quick in order for it to work. Treating them with regular tea tree oil has decreased the outbreak time for me as well.

I originally felt this was expensive for a plain tube of lip product, but it's WORTH IT.If you're going to be using something like this EVERY DAY, don't get something poisonous or something you don't absolutely love.I don't have to constantly reapply and it's pleasantly flavored (so I wish I was applying it more often, actually).Feels great.Treat yourself.
