I'm glad to offer a review, seeing as I'm a natural redhead who frequents the beach and there's no better equation for sunburn. This product works for me and is relatively inexpensive.I'm very active outdoors, sweating in the summer sun for long periods of time. I apply generously and re-apply if I sweat a lot or swim. I have never been burned when using this product. That said, I have developed a faint tan, which means it is not a 100% protective layer, but I honestly have never found a product that was, especially if a person is active and outside every day.
As for texture, it's smooth and easy to rub in. I use a different product on my face because it makes me shiny, but it's nice on my body and absorbs well. The price in the store was significantly lower than I see online here, so I recommend going to a Trader Joe's location to purchase. It's a nice big tube, too, so you can really slather it on without seeing dollar signs add up in your head. It's relatively low-chemical but I still use a (much more expensive) mineral sunblock on my face and on my toddler son, just to be safe (BurnOut Ocean Tested SPF 30).
Just make sure you put enough on, rub it in well, and allow it ten minutes or so to fully absorb before dressing, putting on any other product/makeup, or heading outside! Can't stress this enough--it maximizes the effectiveness of any sunblock.
Too bad it's only available in the summer months.My husband loves this lotion all year round.it's thick without being greasy.Simply works, and works well.Light and unscented.Trader Joes only keeps in stock certain times which is frustrating since I live in sunny LA.can't wait for the miami store to open...terrific products at fair prices have a nice day and enjoy the sun
