Aveeno Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion

Let me start by saying I've used this sunblock for years and I keep several tubes on hand. I never want to be without it-I've had skin cancer and it's very protective. I haven't had even a hint of sunburn since I started using this sunblock. I always wear long sleeves and a hat and sunglasses, but I live in San Diego, where the sun is very strong, and I am a redhead with very pale skin. No other sunblock prevented sun damage like this one does.

It does have a couple of problems. One is that sometimes it irritates my eyes if I sweat. The other is that it is a heavy white cream, and it creates a ghostly pallor on my skin. Neither of those problems is insurmountable. It's a good price, I usually only have to put it on once in the morning and it will last all day, and it's very moisturizing.

I used this sunscreen years ago and for some reason I was under the impression that it didn't fog up my natural skin tone with white residue. I bought this and another Aveeno product-Aveeno Positively Ageless Sunblock Face Lotion SPF 70, 3 Ounce-weeks ago after being disappointed with an exorbitant $13 sunblock bottle that I purchased at Walgreens (which is also sold here on Amazon)-Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion, SPF 30, 4-Ounce Bottle. I put this sunblock on in the morning and was frustrated when I discovered the reality. I first put it on my skin-bare, without any moisturizer underneath and the residue was very apparent because the substance was so dry against the surface of my skin. The second time I put this sunblock on, I put moisturizer underneath and then I applied this product on my face. The appearance was a little better and to my liking, but the white ghost-face was/is still apparent. I have yet to find a sunblock that gives me the benefits I'm looking for, namely: UVA/UVB protection, non-comedogenic/oil-free, and a reasonably high SPF without making my body or face look like Casper the Friendly Ghost. I give this product 3 out of 5 stars. The three stars are for the positive attributes the company claims this product espouses, the two deducted stars are for the very unappealing and unattractive "white" look.
