Kiss My Face Kids SPF30 Sun Stick

Kiss My Face Kids Mineral Sun Stick White SPF 30, 0.5 OunceI did not buy the blue or the pink sunscreen stick. I think that is fairly ridiculous. I do buy the white stick that dries clear, and my kids love it. They both keep a stick in their backpacks, and they actually put it on before recess -that is how I know it is a good product. If my kids wouldn't use it, I wouldn't buy it. According to my 6 year, this is her favorite because it has a slight smell like oranges -it doesn't smell like sunscreen. And she says it is very easy to rub in so that she doesn't have white all over her face.

This stuff is awesome. We've stocked up on the blue variation. Looking ridiculous is fun (we do get some strange looks, and questions. But these are resolved quickly with responses like: "What? You mean I have BLUE SKIN? Aack" or "Don't make fun, we're from another planet!"), and this stuff is super-long lasting too. Which means we actually spent ALL day on the broiling Carolina beach, only re-applying occasionally to the spots that had become less blue (I love that you can SEE when you're protected... and when you are not).... And my two Scandinavian pale children DID NOT get burned. At all. I can't remember a beach trip from my childhood where I didn't get burned in some kind of awful, blistering, painful, peeling way. So I think it's really super cool that I can spare my kids that misery (and the future issues associated with it, like skin cancer, of course). Oh, and this sunblock is a zero hazard with EWGs Skin Deep Database. You don't have to die from bizarro chemicals while sparing yourself skin cancer.

The only drawback is that you pay a bit for the awesome coverage and longevity. This stuff is tenacious. The same factor that allows you a lovely burn-free day at the beach is going to come back and bite you at the days' end. It DOES NOT come off. It's impervious to soap and water. So how exactly do you get it off? Oil. We use coconut. Slather it on thick, and then wipe with a paper towel until you're mostly un-blued. Followed by soap and water. Sound like a lot of trouble? It is. And so is a really bad sunburn. For us, there's no choosing between the two.

So, for us, this sunblock fills a niche. It's not our spend-an-hour-at-the-park sunblock. For that we use the easier to remove (and sweat off) Badger Balm. It's not worth it to go to so much trouble just to go down a slide a few times. But when we go to a water park or pool for an entire day or make a trip to the beach, you'll find us all ridiculously blue -and blissfully burn free.

I like Kiss My Face sunscreen and was excited they had a sun stick that says "white" but "rubs in clear".Tried it on my son this morning and it does not rub in clear! It stays white and you must rub very hard many times to make it disappear. My 8 year old does not want white on his face and has no patience for rubbing sunscreen in.He also complained of the smell. The company needs to take off the "rubs in clear" statement so you know what you're buying!!

As a kid I loved getting sunburned. Yeah, I know, I know. Always I got in trouble, but my skin always felt so good afterward. What I did not understand at the time, besides cancer risk and skin danger was how eliminating toxins work with sweat and sun exposure and how you can get that too while protecting your skin from burn and over exposure of the sun. Another thing I have learned with family history involved is that cancer is quite possible and that expired sunscreen really does not work. So now, I want to be prepared.

Both of my girls are fair skinned like I am and while they have some dark hair it is not quite as dark as my own, but still I think they would burn easily if they had the opportunity, so I must protect them. I love Kiss My Face products. Everything I have tried I have been willing and wanting to renew on my next shopping list and now I can add one more item to that list in their sunscreen sticks! I had never used a sun stick before and only the lotions and previously I had only bought Aveeno because I knew the brand and trusted it more with being on the natural side of things. I never knew that Kiss My Face had such a product and now I'm delighted to find that they do.

Go on blue and it stays blue! This is amazing shade of blue. It's quite beautiful actually. In addition to a blue sun stick we also got a clear one and I love it too, especially because I might not want to go around with blue children all the time or put the blue all over, but for checking out the nose and cheeks and high sun areas I think it's awesome. I'm really excited to hear there is a pink one too and I'll have to look for it, because while smurfs are cute I'm sure pink would be awesome on these girlie girls. So now we have fun and protection in one! hehe ;)

Oh, so to my understanding the stick is for nose, cheeks (face) and ears, and not all over, but it is possible like with my newly toddler when we went to the peach orchard the other day I put her in the Boba carrier first, and then put some sunscreen on her exposed areas so it was her hands and wrists, calves and ankles and her ears, neck and some of her face and that worked out really well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these sun sticks as I know we'll use them again and go buy them again and again as needed.
