First of all, I only received one eye-liner, not 2 as listed. (Amazon was very prompt to refund the money though, so no complaints there) I only wear Almay eye make-up, but was disappointed in the color because it was so light. I'm pretty fair skinned and usually wear Almay brown topaz which shows up pretty well. That wasn't the case, it was lighter and had more of a purple tone. In fact it was closer to their purple amethyst liner I have, but even lighter in color.I have been using this line of Almay makeup for about 6 years now and have never had a problem with it.I used to use the self sharpening pencil eye liner because no matter how hard I tried I could not apply liquid eyeliner and make it look even kind of nice! With Almay's liquid liner, however, it is my new preferred method of eye liner. The brush isn't really a brush, but more of a tiny cone shaped sponge, which makes applying this stuff a no-brainer!It is so precise and you can choose the thickness of the line you are creating depending on how you hold the brush. The color is shimmery and can be lighter or darker depending on how much you apply.I like to apply the liner before I apply the shadow. It provides the definition I want at the base of my lashes, but since I put the shadow over it, it tones down the liner and makes the purple shadow and the raisin quartz liner really blend well together.I went from using only neutral (browns, beiges and black) to using color on my eyes and it really does bring out the green!
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because when it is first applied, my eyelids do tend to sting a little bit while the liner dries.I am not sure if this is with all liquid liners or just this one though.
Overall though, I recommend this for anyone who likes the look of liquid liner without the hassle.
This product is supposed to be made hypoallergenic. I have never had any trouble with any sort of makeup, no sensitivity ever. This made my eye lids and eye balls itch terribly after about 2 hours of use. I even bought a different tube, at a local drugstore thinking that maybe I just got a bad batch. NO, Same problem. Dont know if its the pigment or what,,,,,,,didnt have this problem with the other colors I have used, but did with this liquid and with the stick in the same color.I have had this eyeliner for about two months. I've used it maybe six times. It is already lumpy and weird and not really usable!! I have a cheap wet and wild liquid eyeliner that did not do this!! So I don't know if maybe it was old but I would not recommend this product. I will say it has a cool applicator tip. It's not a brush but kind of a solid nub, so its very precise. The color is lighter than I expected and very shimmery, so if you are going for a very defined liner look this would not be the right product. Its a good way of giving your eyes some definition quickly, easily and subtly.
