The shea butter comes in a plastic container. It was not rock hard and I could easily scoop a bit into my finger and apply it to my face. I didn't have to microwave it. A little goes a long way... since too much shea butter can make one's face look greasy. Overall, I would definitely purchase this brand of shea butter again.

This is my first purchase of raw shea butter. I was hesitant due to some of the negative reviews; however, the positive reviews far outweighed the negative so I purchased it regardless. I am so happy I did! I purchased it solely to moisturize after using African Black Soap, as it was also my first black soap purchase and I read that it can leave your skin dried out. Although the black soap is by far the best soap I have ever used and it doesn't dry me out, I have still been using the shea butter.This stuff is hard but also very easy to pinch enough off and rub it in your hands. After just a few seconds of rubbing it between the hands, it looses the grainy texture and becomes very creamy and easy enough to spread. I have read that some of the other reviewers put it in the microwave but if you're buying it for the raw properties, that kind of defeats the purpose, eh?
Here are some of the benefits I have noticed in the week since I received it: My feet have gone from normal-dry to ahh-mazing...no more dryness around my toenails, it's better than castor oil! My rosacea is GONE (I have tried jojoba oil and, although it showed improvement it never really cleared it), it healed a sunburn I got two days ago and there is no peeling, it seems to help dry up acne but it may be a coincidence or it may be the black soap. It does keep me from picking at my face though. My fingernails seem stronger and they are not peeling so, for the first time since I was a teenager, I am able to start growing them out. My combination skin seems to have evened out and my nose doesn't get too shiny during the day!
Some of the negative aspects...it smells different than anything I have ever smelled before and I can't really describe it. It smells kinda icky but the smell subsides after application. It is very greasy for the first 10-15 minutes but it absorbs into the skin fairly quickly. It's perfect for allover the body but it leaves the face a bit too greasy. If you apply it to your face sparingly and then blot it with a towel after, it leaves the perfect finish though.
Overall, I love it!

The downside to this lotion is I could only use it about once a week. I don't want to turn orange. I don't think anyone would! I have been tanning for well over 5 years and I've used every lotion thought of, and honestly this is the TOTAL BEST lotion I have ever used. I am very pleased with this lotion! It smells really good and it has a smooth, thick texture. I was hoping for the best with this lotion and I was not let down. You can't beat the price, $100 bottle for $40! I only have to get in the tanning bed once a week, which works out great with a busy schedule. Who has time to tan ALL THE TIME ?!? I have been a fan of the Peter Thomas Roth Mineral for a couple of years now, which I would usually buy here on-line. Well times were hard for a bit and I couldn't afford to buy it AND wait for it to come in the mail so I ran to my closest sephora store. They were out of the PTR Mineral (dang it!) and recommend I try the Bare Escentuals SPF. I was desperate to find a replacement so I bought it. Huge disappointment. After using it a couple of times I realized it was nothing like the PTR. The brush was much stiffer and not as gentle on my face. The powder did not come out as easily nor did it distribute evenly around the brush. I also tried putting it into my old PTR bottle brush without success. I am giving this 3 stars because it is always a good idea to apply sunscreen, and maybe I received a "bunk" bottle. Honestly though, nothing compared to the Peter Thomas Roth, until now. My new favorite is the Physicians Formula SPF 50. Mostly because it is much cheaper then the PTR and it is much easier to find!
This is an excellent product! I use it as a sunscreen for the whole family. It is even excellent for my daughter with sensitive skin and skin problems doesn't itch or irritate (like some sun lotions). Highly recommended!!!

The product is great.I love that it's vegan and cruelty-free, and since it comes in powder form, it doesn't make my skin greasy and shiny.But I seem to have a hard time getting the powder out of the container.I'll be brushing it on my face and thinking, is it even coming out?I have to shake it and tap it until I see a fine mist of powder before I'm sure it's flowing.I wish it just came in a simple container.

This has been my go-to sunscreen for years and it's excellent. Unfortunately, they've discontinued the "Light" color and the Medium is horrible for me and my son. (News flash: 7 year old boys don't really love looking like they have makeup on, BareMinerals.)
Please bring the "Light" color back! Until then, I'll have to go with the Paul Thomas Roth product, which smells horrible but gets the job done without looking like I have a Barbie tan.

I read a lot of reviews on this and most were pretty positive so I ordered it.From day 1 I had problems keeping the pressure at the right level.Then while doing a spray tan at my salon the hose blew off of the machine.I had to tape it and keep re-taping it to finish my client.They company sent me a new hose... not overnighted... regular mail.I had to cancel a weeks worth of clients.I used the new hose on 2 clients and on the 3rd client it broke again.I contacted the seller and stated I wanted a refund because at this point I have lost too much revenue and I didn't have the time to keep waiting for new parts.This is not only losing me money but it's losing repeat and future business. The company stated they would give me $89.99 in store credit.I replied back stating this is not acceptable... that there is a 2 year warranty on the machine and it has broken twice and I was purchasing a new machine from a different company.My last response from them states after 30 days they will not refund my money so I can either take the credit or send the machine back... at my cost... and wait for it to be repaired.At this point I'm out the $220 I spent on this machine plus hundreds of dollars in revenue and I have just spent over $400 on a new machine from a different company.Not only is their product cheaply made and not worth the money their customer service is atrocious.

While I am an avid Amazon shopper I was EXTREMELY leary of buying this product due to it having NO reviews. I have always been satisfied with my Amazon purchases so I gave in and I couldn't be happier.REVIEW TIME:
Shipping/Delivery: I paid the extra 8 or 10 dollars to have it shipped in 2 days, it arrived the next day. It came with all 3 bottles and a loofah sponge. Rating 10 out of 10!
ULTRA DARK SELF TANNING LOTION: The smell is GREAT unlike most self tanners, it's kind of a cherry smell. The color of the lotion is VERY dark but don't be intimidated because it blends very well with your skin. I like the lotion being so dark so you can see where you are putting it. It goes on very smoothly and evenly. This lotion does NOT make you look orange. I feel like I acheived the color I would get from laying in the tanning bed for two weeks after just two uses of this lotion.
If you use your hands to apply the lotion be sure to wash them as soon as you are finished! I use dish soap and a dish sponge to scrub it off haha :) Use whatever seems to work best! You can add some of the exfoliater for the tough spots.
If you do happen to end up with streaks (I did the first time I used it) You can get a sponge or whatever you used to wash it off of your hands with and just scrub the heck out of whatever part of you has streaks! The exfoliater will help too. That should do the trick to blending any streaks in.
THIS IS TOTALLY SAFE FOR YOUR FACE. I have very sensitive skin and haven't had any problems.
Self Tanning Lotion Rating: 9 out of 10!
Exfoliant: I really like the exfoliating gel. Maybe because before now I didn't exfoliate very often but now my skin is soooo soft and smooth! You have to use a good bit of it to really get the lathery body wash feel but other than that, it is a great product. Be sure to use this in the shower before you apply the self tanner!
Exfoliater Rating: 8 out of 10!
Maintainer Lotion: I definitely notice a difference in how long my tan lasts between using and not using the maintainer lotion.It goes on very smoothly and keeps my skin really soft. The smell is very similiar to Bath & Body Works' Cucumber Melon. I have grown to love this lotion and will still use it even if I'm not using the self tanning lotion.

TIPS:
SHAKE THE SELF TANNER BOTTLE BEFORE EACH USE!!!!!
Apply to small sections at a time, it dries pretty quickly. I start with my face and work my way down. Face, chest,top section of my arm, bottom section of my arm (repeat on other arm), stomach, top of leg, bottom of leg (repeat on other leg :)), you may want to get someone else to do your back if you aren't very flexible and don't want streaks..
Apply a light amount to your feet, especially on your toes and ankles, they tend to look a lot darker and can make your feet look funky! If all else fails get some soap and/or exfoliater and SCRUB SCRUB SCRUB!
The bottle says to alternate the self tanner and maintainer between night and morning, I don't notice a drastic difference in the tan itself but after a while of applying ONLY at night I did notice it was becoming more difficult for my skin to absorb the self tanner lotion. I have no idea if it was my imagination or if it had something to do with applying the lotion at night each time but if you run into this problem try alternating nights and days each time you apply the tanner to see if it helps.

While on a jounrney that brought me far, far away from my beloved tanning beds (skin cancer be darned) I noticed the white girl starting to come back out again and missed the loving glow I had with my tan.After reading some reviews. I went with Sun Labratories lotion set-couldn't have made a better decision!The kit comes with a loofah, an exfoliating wash, the tanning lotion, and a tanning extender.I will say the entire kit and kaboodle itself is a WASTE OF MONEY-you are fine with just buying the tanning lotion! However, if you want to go the full monty, the exfoliator and tanning extender won't hurt you.
This product leaves a NATURAL looking tan; no worries, it will not turn you orange.You can control how dark or light you want your tan to be by just re-applying the lotion as necessary; the tan lasts fairly long as well, I was actually impressed.It doesn't wash off too easily, so don't be afraid of scrubbing in the tub between applications.My tan is now fairly dark, and again, it looks totally natural. I have had zero issues with splotches (one caveat, but it was my fault!) or streaks or clumpy spots around joints... and believe me, I'm pretty retarded when it comes to using beauty products, so if I can do it, you can too :)
CAVEATS to this product are: please, please, please mix it with your favorite body lotion! The tanning lotion is thick-which is great, because you can see where you applied it, but if you don't rub it in quickly enough like I did on my first application --I put lil globs here and there thinking I would get back to them, and whoops, they kinda set in pretty fast-you may look like you have spots.But a quick emergency shower solved that issue.I typically put it on after I shower for bed-I've had no issue with the color transferring to my clothes, but I rather not risk it.
Overall, it's a great, user-friendly product with awesome results.Again, you don't need the entire kit, the tanning lotion sold separately will do just fine, but do not be afraid to try this!!

Never used self tanners before, always stuck with tanning bed. Wanted to be healthier for myself and try a less harsh approach to getting tan. This works fabulous!! I was scared at first that I would have streaks or be orange but I had no problems! Just shower, exfoliate with body puff, lotion on dry areas, apply self tanner, sleep, shower in morning and perfect tan when I wake up. Haven't tried any other brand and probably won't. I'm still tan from tanning bed so I should have got ultra dark but either way I can see a difference next morning. This is a must!!

The DCL chemfree is the best superblock that i have used so far. The skin just absorbs the cream and does not leave it sticky, its fragrance free so that's a bonus. I have a dry skin and some sun damage (brown spots) on my face. I have been using this for almost 10 months now and i can't say anything bad about it. One tube lasts me a few months so its money well spent. It works great in humid weather too.

After ignoring the advice to use SunBlock for many years and suffering scaly skin after 2-3 long bike rides in sunny California, I finally caved in after trying this Sunblock from a fellow cyclist. All my previous objections to various brands of Sunblock seem to have been addressed with this. It is not too greasy (at least you do not feel it after putting it on), it has no overpowering nasty perfume and it does an excellent job of protecting your skin. This was brought home to me in no certain way when the deep tan lines I had on my arms and legs more or less disappeared within weeks.
In the past I have used the Copper tone Water babies on her, but this blows that out of the water. I applied this to her prior to going in the sun. I usually put it on her entire body before she gets dressed, then I reapply as needed after swimming or a lot of sweating.Well this stuff is like super water proof, and last a long time.
We were at the amusement park (in the water rides and wave pools) all day and she not only had a great time she did not complain about having to put more sun block on.
My entire family used it so I have bought it from Amazon.com in the 2 pack for our trip to Florida. I expect it to work just as well. Will update when we return.

Pretty well priced. More quantity than the supposedly "100+".. THe ratings are marketing lingo... So as long as u liberally apply lots of sunscreen with reasonable SPF u are good...One con not sure if its the same with other sunscreens... I played tennis after applying this and the sweat burns the eye a little bit....My doctor recommended me some years ago to use every day, when I am exposed to the sun, a sunscreen lotion for my face and parts of may body that will be exposed to thw sun. I decided to use a Coppertone product that was not greasy, that had a protection of 45. However, since 2 years ago, I am using this, that will give me more protection.

There are very few makeup products that I would bother reviewing, simply because my skin reacts differently with the product after a few months, I get bored with the colors or makeup type, etc.However, this is the first product that I not only loved the instant I got it but still loved after reordering and using the second bottle!
MD Skincare All-In-One Tinted Moisturizer makes life a lot easier for me (a mom of an 11-month old with one on the way!).I don't have much time in the morning to put on a huge amount of makeup, so All-In-One type makeups are the best.This product not only moisturizes my skin, but it also an SPF 15 sunscreen, and it makes my skin look matte for most of the day!I probably would use some additional powder for a most dressed up look but for everyday use, this along with Nars blush, a dab of eye shadow and lip gloss gives me a clean, refreshed look.During the summer, I usually put on a higher SPF sunscreen underneath this foundation without any ill effects.
There's only two problems I have with this foundation:
1)I have sensitive eyes, and very occasionally I will put some too close to my eyes which will result in a "makeup headache", but that's more user error than anything.
2)This is pretty pricey for the amount you get (one bottle lasts roughly 7 months for me with 1 1/2 pumps per day).However, I have tried other cheaper alternatives for kicks and ended up returning them all none of the cheaper alternatives could hide my blemishes and give me a clean matte look like this product.I discovered this product when I was getting facials at a Facelogic salon. Although I've given up salon facials for economic reasons, I still get this product because it's simply the best tinted moisturizer I've ever used and it's well worth the price.
It comes in a wide range of tints to match just about any skin tone, provides sunscreen protection, and covers smoothly with a light matte finish. Best of all, it does not make me break out in my oily areas like other tinted moisturizers. It delivers moisture only to the areas of your face that need it.
