I initially decided to try this stuff in hopes of healing my son's eczema on his face. I had tried several prescription meds. Of which would only work for a day. So after I read all the rave reviews on this I decided to buy a couple pounds...well, it worked! His eczema finally healed after a week or so of applying moRning and night. I also have been using it as a diaper cream on both my babies (no rashes since I started using it). Now, I have had months of experience with this stuff, one awful smelling tub (of which was replaced for free with an extra "ivory" tub)... And after researching more deeply have learned that this is NOT real Shea Butter! I became skeptical after discovering the horrible expired tub. After all, this seller said this product does not expire. Then I opened and smelled the "ivory" tub and it smelled like chemicals. This made me realize this was not the real thing. Turns out all this is is African Butter dyed yellow. A totally different tree.Yes, it works ok. And yes it helped heal my sons skin. But I feel duped. After purchasing REAL Shea Butter elsewhere, I can see, feel, and smell the difference. And no more yellow stains!!!!

I have bought unrefined shea butter from other vendors in the past and decided to buy in bulk on Amazon and found this vendor. I purchased 3 packs of the 3 listed (9 in total) and this is the worst I have gotten to date. It smells like Playdough and I have no idea what I am going to use this for now. This is definately not what they say it is. One of my packs arrived looking green as well. very disapointed.

This FACE cream is a fantastic product for the face, the best I have found; spf 50 without the nasty chemicals; very moisturizing -great for dry and/or mature skin; leaves face feeling like silk; no odor and non-irritating unlike some formulas which claim to be non-irritating but are not; a great under-makeup moisturizer -allows makeup to be spread over it easily; not sticky; also spreads on face easily; contents should be shaken at least before first use; since recently purchased have yet to see how it holds up in hot, sweaty weather; the green "wrap" on the white plastic bottle may appear torn or split but this is not an indication that it has been used -the bottle is okay -the manufacturer could work on that insignificant wrap but as for me it is a non-issue.

Update 6/2012:product has recently been reformulated and works even better; no slight whiteness which eventually did disappear; stays put even better; even more moisturizing and softening but not greasy,sticky or powdery; non-irritating and no odor; no nasty chemicals listed; spreads easily and disappears quickly; packaging improved -now in a sealed tube requiring no pre-shaking whereas before in a flat bottle (pictured above -can't say which formulation is actually being offered here now); blocks out sun even better; no added water to pay for -concentrated -can use as much as you want for really superior protection; as for mature, dry, sensitive skin -GREAT!Their sunblock for body has also been similarly reformulated and is also great -haven't yet used in pool.

I am in the hot sun every day and have been lloking for a chemical free sunscreen that will not clog my pores and cause break-outs.I have been using Sunolgy for faces and for the body with great success!It is thick so you don't have to use much and it does absorb into the skin much better than other products I have tried with zinc oxide.It is greasy at first, but as you rub it in, it becomes very smooth and creamy. I did find with this product I do not have to apply it as often as other sunscreens and it gives me great protection.I like the fact that there are no checmicals in the product and you don't sacrifice the sun protection level.

This sunscreen smells terrible but what's worst it linger on the skin for at least half an hour. I too checked the EWG site as another poster had to search for a chemical free sunscreen. Too bad this one does leave a white cast on my face and an unpleasant odor with it. I have been using this sunscreen for a few weeks now and love it! I had done some research to find a good sunscreen that doesn't have harsh chemicals in it. This is a great safe sunscreen that so far has worked very well in protecting my face. I am very prone to break outs and this has not clogged my pores at all. I put it on under my make up in the morning and it protects my face all day. Its moisturizing and makes my skin feel soft. It does have a slight whiteness to it when you first put it on, but as I put makeup on over it, I never notice. Although it honestly does not look ghostly even when I don't wear makeup over it, more like you put a bit of highlighter powder on your face and it makes your skin look dewy. I actually like how it looks. The container is small but because its like a lip balm, you just put a tiny bit on your fingers, it warms it up and you dab it all over your face. I wouldn't try to rub it on your face as you'll tug your skin, but if you dab it on in spots and blend it gently, it goes on easily. It barely looks like I've used up any after using it everyday all over my face for 3 weeks. Definitely worked for me, worth checking out.

Many natural sunscreens are super thick and very greasy. This is a dense white balm. At first it feels slightly gritty on your fingertips. Rub it between your fingertips to slightly emulsify, put a dot on each section of your face, then blend. My skin is medium olive in tone with large pores, and prone to breaking out. This stuff makes my skin feel like velvet, and doesn't make me look like a ghost. It also does not make me break out, and somehow when I wear it my skin gets less oily. I wear it daily now under my mineral makeup. The only thing that could be improved is the cover. It does not fit tightly, and I would not trust it enough to just throw it in my bag. An easy fix with a small baggie though. And I also wish that they sold it in larger sizes, because now I need to stock up!!!

I like this sunscreen because it doesn't make me break out (I have rosacea and my skin gets irritated and red), it is not toxic and it has good ratings on the EWG database. The downsides for me are as follows: 1. hard to spread on, I feel like I tug at my skin every time I put it on, which I hate, even when I try to work it into my fingers to warm it up first hoping it's easier to spread. 2. it makes me look as white as a vampire I never used to wear foundation powder but now I do because I have to use something to make myself look less zombie like; with some make up, it's fine. 3. It wears out by the afternoon so my choices when I wait for the city bus are to either re-apply (but then I'd have to bring some make up powder too and re-apply waaaay too much hassle) or go without. I'll use it till I finish it, but I will probably not buy again unless I can't find something better.

I bought this because I'm constantly outdoors doing high energy sports and even with reapplication I couldn't help getting burnt. So far, I have not gotten any sunburns (though I the weather has also been cooler). The product does take a little more time to rub in (else you'll have a white film over your face), but it softens the skin, doesn't feel too greasy, and still protects your skin. I also haven't had any issues with the sunblock melting into my eyes. I love it.

I purchased this product because it claims to be oil-free.In comparison to others it does not feel as greasy or thick as some sunblocks.I would like for it to be a little more matte finish, but not sure if there is truly such a thing when it comes to sunblocks.Over all I am satisfied with this product.

This is not oil free, it is too thick, it smells bad, and it does not protect you from the sun. you ll get red and burn using it. So if you are locking for a matte finish sunblock this is not for you! what a waste of money! it works for nothing
