Besides the great coverage (reapplied regularly), this spray is the only brand I've come across that does not have that chemical smell associated with sunscreen sprays. I normally get this kind of stuff at a local store but couldn't find any. The product seems to work, and you do get a lot of it, but they added too much perfume to it. The scent is like shaving cream or after shave in smell.
I have to rate this as just ok only because it does not smell as fresh and lovely as I remember when you could buy it in the store. I do love Calyx but this bottle has that hint of aging perfume smell, which Calyx tends to get pretty quick, even when kept in a dark place.The color of the liquid looks fine but something is off. I wish this product would come back in the stores.

Ok, I'll admit to a bit of bias since I am from the same place where Doc Martin's is made, but after many years of living under the Hawaiian sun and spending several hours each day working outside and/or playing in the ocean, I absolutely swear by this stuff.I put about a dime-size squeeze on my face and ears before a long surf or paddle session and it does the job for hours without wearing off.The "6-hour protection" claim is definitely legit.Plus, it doesn't give you a "whiteface" that is hard to wash off like some of the other, more well-known, more expansive brands like Vertra.Doc Martin's seems to wash off fine at the end of the day, and doesn't leave me with clogged pores like some of the cheaper face protectants.

The consistency is light to medium. It goes on light, which I like. The only problem is the smell. It smells like feet or cornnuts. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but it's something I can't seem to get past.
