It's a combination of physical and chemical sunscreen, hence providing a broader protection than most sunscreen products. It's light and even in a liquid-like condition, and you have to shake it every time before use. It's the only product, using with proper re-application, that will prevent my skin being tanned in summer time. Sparkles is very subtle and totally okay for daytime; if you wear this under makeup it helps (just a little) to make your skin look better. For the water/sweat-proof aspect, this one is not as effective as the golden one of the same brand, but this one is apparently easier to remove (while the golden bottle needs specific make-up remover).
