After reading the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep sunscreen guide for several years, I've been looking for the holy grail of a low toxicity sunscreen that is easy to spread on.I have tried at least a dozen different varieties and can say without a doubt that this is one of the best.It spreads much better than the titanium/zinc oxide and still has much better toxicity rating than others.The smell is a bit different but not unpleasant and dissipates quickly.It's also not 50+ so I can get a little color when I want to.

I ordered three different sunscreens that I'd found on the EWG's excellent sunscreen database for health and environmental impact that were rated reasonably well and had good Amazon reviews, and this one easily came out on top for giving me exactly as much protection as I'd expect from an SPF 15 (I'll burn if I'm in direct sun without sunscreen for, say, 45 minutes, and this SPF 15 extends that to about 2 hours), for being reasonably spreadable, and for the feel once it's on.You can tell that it's there, but it's not at all oily-feeling or -looking.Now I don't use anything else.

I bought this sunscreen because my dermatologist told me to start using one daily, and the reviews were good. When it arrived I opened the bottle and immediately smelled an unpleasant odor. The sunscreen smells like spoiled clothes. I haven't worn it more than a handful of times, so I can't speak about its effectiveness, but it makes me smell like I haven't bathed so I'm too embarrassed to wear it. It was a waste of a product for me.

This sunscreen rubs in really easy. Its not thick and goopy. Also whats nice is its not watered-down like the cheap sunscreens seems to be, the ingredients lists has stuff like shea butter and aloe vera. And no sunburn after an afternoon hike in the mountains... I highly recommend it after that.
