CON: I gave up on the applicator after a couple of attempts and just use a brush from another product.The tan color looks orange on me, which is probably just my coloring --only 2 color options and I don't know that translucent would have been any better for summer usage.

PRO: Product does block sun and does not irritate my skin.I was looking for something stronger than the SPF 15 in my foundation powder and this product is working for that, it would be fine for folks who match the shade if they fixed their applicator.

With so many mineral powders available this product is often overlooked in lieu of those with tinting. Let me just say STOP and HIGHLY consider this instead of any others! First off the sunscreen is excellent and a "physical block" versus just a chemical block. Second, it doesn't add color or "foundation-like" effects on your skin... meaning no smearing, orange or brown color... just a subtle soft focus effect... nice! Those with good skin can use this over moisturizer (I do) and look flawless. If you have a couple of flaws, I'd recommend a concealer versus any other make-up... since this combo will give you moisture, sunscreen and a flawless yet natural finish. One note, on this and all other physical block sunscreens... they add a reflection to your skin due to the metals in them. Most photographers will want you to use a matte product in photos. If you're having pictures taken that day, don't wear this... you'll appear shiny even if you're not.

This product was recommended to me by a pharmacist for my sensitive skin. I specifically requested something that I could use for activitities at higher altitude. Today I tested the product on a sunny day on Mt Rainier at 8600 feet of elevation while skiing and suffered a serious sun burn. I reapplied this product on my face and neck several times throughout the day (at least 5 times) and both areas are completely burned. I applied it on my arms maybe twice throughout the day and suffered a very, very bad and painful burn. The results of using this product are as if I had used no sunscreen at all. My friends used a regular sunscreen today and got no sunburn or not even redness. This is a horrible, dangerous product that doesn't work as sunscreen at all!

Jane Iredale cosmetics are fantastic and this one is my favorite. This is sunscreen but in a powder not a cream so you don't have to slather a cheap cream full of synthetics on your body just to be protected from the sun. No sticky residue. Really superior protection. My first jar was used by my husband, my son, and myself for a full season and there was half a jar left in the Fall. It doesn't expire either so we used the same jar the entire next season.
