When we had our first child, we researched what type of sunblock was safe to use for our baby.We found that products with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide were the safest.Both of these ingredients rest on top of the skin, rather than getting absorbed into the skin.We also read that any SPF rating above 30 is unnecessary as they aren't actually more effective but contained more chemicals that could actually be harmful.Finding products that met those conditions were much harder to find than I expected.

The California Baby brand was about the only one we could find initially that used titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.We started out with the lotion first and it was good at blocking out the sun, but did not completely prevent a tan.It also required a bit more time to apply and was somewhat difficult to apply on the face as it is a bit runny.I bought the stick version to address those issues.

It is much quicker to apply the stick sunblock on my children and their faces.There are some drawbacks however.The stick is much more difficult to spread so getting even coverage can be difficult.Because it doesn't spread easily, you have to apply a lot of it.Due to the premium cost of the stick, I wince every time I use it.Also, as other reviewers have noted, unless you rub the sunblock in very well, your kids will look like ghosts, teehee.

We like how safe and effective the California Baby sunblock stick and lotion are for our children.We tend to use the lotion most of the time and use the stick only for their faces and for when we are short on time (which seems like all the time).The pack of 2 that Amazon sells this for is a bargain compared to what we have paid in brick and mortar stores.We will likely buy these again from Amazon next summer, when our current stick is likely to run out.

The stick is very convenient b/c I've found it's really the only way of getting sunblock on toddler's faces.And it certainly does the job but it looks like my girls have a mask on when I put it on them.I guess all the zinc oxide based ones are like that.

This is truly fragrance free.It does not irritate skin.I have used every other product imaginable and this is really the only

one that I have found to work.Even on the most sensitive skin that burns easily.Great product.Great find!!!!!!!!

Easy to apply. Very gentle on my daughters skin (she get's irritated skin easily). Slightly white sheen, but that fades after a few minutes (if you even care).
