I am allergic to regular sunscreen, it causes a horrible burning sensation and redness to my skin, so I was very glad to find Solar Sense. I have several large tattoos and I use it especially for them every day, as Zinc products are the best to slow deterioration of ink due to sun exposure. It does have a slight white tint to it, but I don't mind that, it's not bad enough to make me not wear it.

My expectations may have been too high.I was expecting zinc to provide a total block, better than the chemical sunblocks (most of them).This one is labeled "clear zinc", but initially it is white it's very thick and concentrated, and you use very little.When you rub it in, the whiteness gradually disappears.I primarily wanted it for my nose, which always gets too much sun, to keep the redness in check.It definitely keeps me from burning, but it doesn't totally keep my nose from getting red.I'm not convinced that it works better than the other high-end sun lotions that I've used, which were chemical blocks, not physical blocks such as this.It is good for sensitive skin, but it's too thick to easily use it for your whole body practically speaking, it's probably better for your face.It's good to have in your sun-arsenal, but don't throw out the rest.
