Neutrogena Healthy Skin Pressed Powder

I like this powder because it feels light on my face and has pretty good coverage (I have a few acne scars that I wish it would cover better). If you mainly want to even your skin tone and avoid shine, then this is for you.

I purchased this after it was recommended by a friend for oily skin. I was told that it feels great on the skin and not heavy. Although it works great in controlling the oil, it feels very heavy on the skin. I feel like I am wearing a mask and it makes my skin tight and itchy. Also, I have a medium skin toned and usually buy light-medium shades without problems. This shade is much darker on and appears to be tan in color. I would suggest purchasing a slightly lighter shade than what you are used to.

I got this in Fair 10, and it blends really well with my alabaster skin that has pink undertones. I like how fine the powder is. The compact is rather large, which for the price is a good thing in my opinion. The applicator and mirror are standard for these kind of compacts. I think this product does exactly what it claims to do, plus it offers great SPF protection which is a MUST for me with such pale skin but is something everyone should have.

The only downside to this product, which is kind of common with pressed powder is how it affects dry skin. I have combination skin that's dry around my nose and mouth and while I couldn't see any difference I could sure feel it. It made the dry areas of my face feel tight, as if I had washed with a bar of soap. I recommend exfoliating and then moisturizing before applying this and it doesn't seem to happen.
