This is supposed to be one of the safer lip sunscreens based on the EWG ratings which looks at protection and toxicity. So far it has worked well. The only draw back is that it leaves your lips white, but a little lipstick can help with the color issue.

It applies kind of shimmery beige, it's non-toxic, unscented and makes a great lipstick base.The price initially seemed crazy for a lip balm, but if this was being marketed as a lipstick primer with sunscreen, I would not have found the price objectionable. I am very glad that I got over the sticker shock and tried this product.I'm going to give one to my daughter to take to summer camp and pray she doesn't lose it the first week!

Well, it's beige, really, not white, but no one has beige lips, so it still matters that it's opaque.For spf 30+, though, I'm surprised it's not worse.So, is it worth the (kind of outrageous) price?Well, good mineral-based sunscreen lip balm is hard to find, and speaking for myself, since I will probably only use it on long hikes, I expect it to last a while, so yes.It's one of very few sunscreen lip balms that are unscented, which is important to me (it does have a mild scent, probably from one of the oils it's made of (and why do manufacturers put fragrance (or flavoring, as they call it) in lip balm anyway?You're not supposed to chew on your lips, and if there's something so nasty-tasting that it has to be covered up with flavoring, you probably don't want it on your lips)).The only other unscented mineral lip balm I've used is Badger.It's not only whiter, but it's kind of irritating, and wears off more quickly.So, yeah, I like this one better.

My sister is vegan and wanted some chapstick that is good, has spf,...and vegan. Thats a hard combo to find! But this fit the bill. Perfect!
