First off this 2oz bottle is usually a part of a `free gift' at Lancome in fact right now (May 2011) you can get 6 free gifts including the 2oz tube of Flash bronzer leg gel when you purchase $32 worth of Lancome stuff.Which is how it came to be in my possession.I usually only review books, but it is summer and the season for tanning.I am as pale as they come (I mean red-head pale) so unfortunately a lot of self tanners look orange on me.I also don't believe in tanning beds and rarely have time to go to the pool.Look and feel
The tanner is a gelly substance that has flecks of gold glitter on it so I really liked using it when I was wearing shorts/skirt/dress.It goes on smoothly and you really don't need too much.
Smell
The gel had a strong smell at first, but it didn't smell like fake bake, after a few hours the smell was still there but it did not intensify like some tanners do.It wasn't unpleasant, but certainly distinguishable.
Immediate look
My legs looked shimmery and maybe a half a shade darker immediately
3-4 hours later
My legs had an orange bronze look to them (like burnt orange not vivid orange) on my feet... which yes I had exfoliated and moisturized before putting this on.
Final conclusion
I have friends that love this stuff, they are slightly darker then I am and have never experienced the orange problem, this is probably due to how pale I am normally, I have this problem with a lot of sunless tanners.The big point for me though is that it wasn't a horrid noticeable orange, I didn't feel embarrassed since I was wearing a skirt, in fact I'm sure I was the only one who was looking closely enough to notice it, still for the hefty price tag it wasn't a perfect fit for me.
