Badger Chamomile and Calendula Broad Spectrum SPF 34 Baby Sunscreen 2.9 oz

Badger Chamomile and Calendula Broad Spectrum SPF 34 Baby Sunscreen 2.9 ozIf you aren't accustomed to using natural sunscreens then your immediate reaction would be to not like this sunscreen. Using natural ingredients and making a sunscreen safe tends to mean that it will be greasier than you are used to.However, this is one of the safest sunscreens on the market. Competing with a little greasiness vs endocrine disrupting chemicals is a no brainer for me. I use this on my kids for days spent in the pool since it is more water resistant than many natural sunscreens thanks to the "greasiness".

Despite other negative reviews, I purchased this item because it is certified all natural and rated very well on other sites as one of the best all natural sun protection for babies.I was a little skeptical after reading some reviews about the reactions by some customers children.I however, have not experienced anything of that nature.I love this product.A little goes a Long way and once set for a bit, is not at all greasy.I take my 10 month old out running with me most days of the week and she has stayed as white as can be all summer. Her feet, legs, arms and face, are often exposed to the sun with never a burn or any coloration. This small bottle has lasted me all summer, with being outside just about every day; running, beach, pool, etc.I am a repeat customer of this product and recommend it to all my new mom friends!

This sunscreen is great, it's not too greasy and not hard to rub in well. I like that it is reviewed as safe by EWG.

I generally use other natural sunscreens (non-chemical physical blockers. I even make my own!) but decided to try this since I could get it locally and it's natural (and mostly because we were heading out of town and I didn't have time to make any more!). Four of us were wearing it and all 4 of us were burned. We were in the sun for 2 hours, so I am guessing it protected us a little bit. But it pretty much looks like none of us were wearing sunscreen. My 2 children have the first sunburns of their lives and they are 6 and 4 years old. I'm pretty upset and felt compelled to go online, while on vacation, to warn others that this didn't work at all for us. Try it on yourself first maybe in one test location on your body before putting it on your children (better yet, get something else!). :(

Edited to add on July 2nd, 2012: Our sunscreen was lumpy (since I'd never used the product before I thought maybe that is how it was made, but I remember thinking it was odd). I've read since our incident that lumpy typically means it was exposed to excessive heat and may have lost it's effectiveness. Someone was kind enough to respond that it's typically not a lumpy lotion, so if you purchase one that is lumpy, don't trust it! I am not changing my rating since I'm not certain that was the cause and it burned us, but I am willing to try the sunscreen again (non-lumpy). Thought I'd update here, and if I happen to be around the product again (I'm not sure I'll purchase it again unless it's from somewhere I know I can return it if it is lumpy), I'll update my review with my experience.

I was looking for all natural baby sunscreen for a while now and based on my research this has the best ingredients in it. I have used the regular badger sunscreen before so I knew it would be thicker and that it has a weird smell (not a typical sunscreen smell) but I'll take the trade off if it keeps dangerous chemicals off my baby. So far it has been effective and he has not had any reactions so I am satisfied.
