Neutrogena Age Shield Face Sunblock Spf 70 - 3 oz.

This sunblock states on its packaging that it contains helioplex, which can cause allergic reactions in some people. Fortunately, this did not happen to me. Just to be sure, though, I applied it to my arms first for a few days before I ventured to put it on my face.

The sunblock is not sticky but it made my face look oily long after the application. It definitely did not encourage me to apply a whole teaspoonful of it -the recommended effective dose of sunblock by dermatologists -on my face. Maybe if your skin is on the dry side, or if you're not going to apply make-up after sunblock, or if you're going for a swim, or just staying at home, then this would be ok.

How do I know that this sunblock could be better? Because Neutrogena has actually made a newer and better version of it! The new version is SPF 90, and claims to be not sticky, not thick and not oily. So my recommendation is: buy the new version.

Within hours of using this product my entire face was covered with a rash tiny little white bumps. It is itchy, dry & terribly painful. My birthday is this weekend &while treating myself at the cosmetics store, a representative told me how I had great skin & asked what I use. When I told her dove bar soap & a generic brand moisterizer with spf 15, she pushed new products on me including this one. In my early 30s , so I figured a good sunblock would't hurt & now I totally regret it.

I haven't used any new product except this one & my normally smooth skin is rough, inflamed, itchy & I look like freddy kruger in the face. I am so freaked out & in pain right now, I think I will be taking all the products back. Too scared to try anything else & there will be no birthday pictures.

I decided as I neared 40 to be extra vigilent in taking care of my skin. Even though my foundation has a SPF 15, I was told it was wise to put sunscreen every day under my make-up by my doctor. I bought this product and noticed it has a slight smell to it, but figured if it did its job it was worth it. Within a day of using this product I noticed some red blotches on my skin and some dry spots on my face. It took me a few days of using this product to realize it was causing my skin to dry, flake, and break out into splotches. It was the only thing different I had been using and it started the day after I first applied it. Reading some of the other reviews, maybe I am having a reaction to the helioplex. I haven't used it for a couple of days and I am still dealing with sever dry skin and blotching, despite using my regular face cream each day and night. If you use this product I recommend testing a small amount on your arm first to see what your reaction will be.

I purchased this for I wanted to try a product without a long list of chemicals. I suffer from dry skin, yet this sun screen was too sticky for me. Probably due to that my skin stays hydrated all day long. However I would like it a lot moe if it were not so sticky. Secondly, for a SPF 30 sunscreen it provides below par protection from sun. My previous sunscreen/day cream (Olay Total effects SPF 15) seemed provided better protection from tanning that this product.

I love the scent of this mild and pleasant.It's not overly thick, yet takes a bit of rubbing to absorb.It feels hydrating, and leaves behind a bit of tack, so if you are working in the wind, dirt and dust you will end up with little particles stuck to your skin by the end of the day... for this reason, I only wear it for casual activities.My favorite part is the ingredient list I feel safer using it.Lots of organic components, not nearly as scary (in terms of chemicals) as the majority of sunscreens out there.I'd give it 5-stars if they could come up with a 'sport' version that leaves less or no tacky residue.Would also love to see it come in a pump bottle.

This is the best lip balm ever made. It is non-greasy, has no flavor, keeps lips moist for hours and gives a great shine that even seems to enhance the color of lips. But the tube is the worst design ever. The tip is not an applicator tip so you either have to use your finger (gross) or rub the rough end over your lips.After you use about half of the tube it becomes a struggle to get any out, like a toothpaste tube. When you're down to 25% left you smoosh it to the top of the tube, trying to get out enough to put on your lips. After struggling for a while to get some out it all comes spewing out the top, all over your hands, wasting about 50 cents worth of product each time. It's so frustrating that I buy 2-3 different lip balms a month just trying to find one that works as well but is in a different container.

Please Kiehl's you have got to make a better container for this awesome product.

It pretty much comes down to this: Do you like the texture, gloss, and taste of Vaseline on your lips? With 90% Petrolatum, that's what you are getting with this product and not much else. A touch of UV-B only sunscreen give it a virtually nonexistent SPF 4. There are much better products out there at this price.

I live in Arizona and with the heat here I need something not so greasy. This product is not greasy and offers great protection. Feels and looks good on. Not chalky looking. I use it for myself.

I decided to try this for my face because I use mineral-based sunscreens every day in lieu of makeup (sounds weird but I use powder over it). It has a tinge of white cast as every single mineral block with a decent spf will, but not as bad as you'd expect for the amount of zinc and titanium. I'm pretty fair, though, so it's possible it may be more noticeable on darker skin, not sure. It has a nice light scent that I wouldn't describe as vanilla really, but is not cloying and goes away after a while. I like the ingredientsthere's a lot of natural and organic stuff in it and it has a good consistency. It's more moisturizing than another one I've tried "California Baby" (also a good one), but I use powder over it and tend to have dry skin so it eliminates shininess. It might not be good for you if you have oily skin. It kind of gives my face a bit of a glow that I like, almost like a primer. I will purchase again. I gave 4 stars because it doesn't have that perfect creamy consistency that a fave of mine from the past had (Clinique body block 25), but this probably doesn't make a difference to most people!

My dermatologist turned me to La Roch Posey because of a sever case of hyper pigmentation in my skin. First I used the creme, but it is pasty and too white. But this lotion is great. I put it on before I go out and don't need to use moisturizer. I think it works, my skin looks better and under control. That doesn't mean that I can be laying in the sun, I still have to avoid being in direct sun as much as possible, but for everyday protection, this is the best; and I've used a few different sunscreens.

To be honest, this sunscreen is not good like other's reviews for me. First of all, this is rather greasy. And this dyes fabrics yellow!! I didn't notice at first but after laundry I found where the yellow stains came from. This is really bad. I have used a lot of kinds of sunscreens (American, Japanese and French stuffs) and usually sunscreen stains on fabric can be removed easily. I must throw this away. I wasted my money, and also my polo shirt and towel by the stains. Very disappointing!!

PS. The best sunscreen is "ANESSA by Shiseido" (Japanese). It's expensive but very good!!

The creme is recommended for evening use, but I use it morning and night. I have also tried a sample of the serum which was recommended for morning use but I didn't like it. The serum takes too long to dry and I don't have that much time in the morning. This product appears to temporarily firm the eye area and provide hydration to prevent future wrinkles.

Delivered next day. Lotion smells great, goes on smoothly, and gave me nice color in about three sessions. I'm not sure about 3 shades darker but the lotion is tinted a medium brown so it does give the appearance of making you darker when you apply.Doesn't make you orange. Only complaint is that the bottle is a little oddly shaped and it's a pain to squeeze the lotion out, especially if you already have the lotion on your hands. (It's skinny and rectangular with a pop up dispenser.) I'm not %100 sure of the price at my salon, but this is a top shelf lotion, (literally on the top shelf of my salon) and those lotions start at around $45 and go to about $100.

As I've gotten older I've noticed that my lips have gotten a lot darker, so I wanted to try and protect them as much as I could. Even though I don't lick my lips or anything, I still end up getting some of it in my mouth and it tastes terrible. It is also very, very white. Unfortunately I don't think that you're ever going to be able to find a sunscreen lip product that isn't gross. Anything that is easy to wear probably just does not contain enough sunscreen. So with that caveat: the product itself works. You just may not want to use it for everyday.

I absolutly love this product! I have normal skin, don't break out easily, hardly ever have pimples or problems with my skin but I hate the smell of typical sunscreens. About 5 yrs ago my sense of smell hightened to the point where I can't wear perfume, hubby can't wear scented deodorant or body sprays or cologne, etc.... Strong smells just drive me crazy, but I found this to be the best face lotion. It's not greasy, goes on quickly, absorbs quickly and the smell is not strong at all. It's just a mild nice unnoticible smell. I've been using it for almost 4 yrs and still use it morning and night. It's my day and night cream. My hubby uses it as well but not daily and he likes that there's no sunscreen smell, which he also hates. I have had two occasions only where I got it in my eye and my eye burnt all day but that was my mistake. I do put it over my entire eye and even put extra on the sides of my eye and let it sink it on its own every night, so don't be afraid to rub around eye area, just be sure to not rub your eye until it's been absorbed. In the morning I just rub it in, without leaving extra on and it goes in quickly just like any other face lotion would. I also garden outside daily and sweat and Ive never had any problems with it going into my eyes and burning like other sunscreens I've used before during swimming season. I'm ordering extra's for my 13 and 15 yr old who are in track and summer is almost here so in the Phx weather it's a must! Buy it, you won't be dissapointed! My only suggestion would be for them to come up with a higher SPF all over body cream!!!

When I buy moisturizer the single most important factor is the SPF, and I also consider the price. This is a good moisturizer that not only has the proper ingredients to provide great sun protection, but is also reasonably priced and lasts a long time. I will buy another brand if it has the right ingredients and is cheaper, but this brand is available at most stores and I know I can trust it.

I loved it, but I also took it for exactly what it is... 'face spackle'! :). I've tried others like products and really disliked how they interacted with my skin and makeup...caking and flaking. I used them in similar manners, but didn't have this problem with this one. If I didn't mess too much with the area after I put it, it definitely 'blurred' things especially in the pore size area on nose, chin and checks. When my sample ran out, I was really bummed and I think that says it all. I wanted more.

I am really amazed with all the negative reviews. I LOVE this product because it did just as it promised in these first two weeks of use.

I followed the directions on the box and chose to use it under my L'Oreal foundation but over my Aveda moisturizer.

Used no more than a dime size as explained. Over the moisturizer it flows onto your skin smoothly, easily and evenly.

I wait a minute or two then apply the foundation. Use L'Oreal Visible Lift Pro Retinol A+ Vitamin C foundation.

What I get from this product is an airbrushed affect on my skin that lasts at least from 8 to 10 hours

Pores shrink, lines blur, skin perks up (I even check them in a high magnification mirror to see the difference)

I just turned 48 and this product has brought back a glow to what was normally dull skin.

Its worth a try. Follow the directions to achieve maximum results.

I'm very pale and often feel self conscious during the summer about the shade of my skin, particularly on my legs.Most sunless tanning lotions I've tried end up giving me a very orange shadesomething I think is a result of just how pale my skin is.I'd never tried Nivea and decided to give it a shot.

After three applications I'm very happy.This lotion is very easy to apply and I've had no issues with color build-up around dry areas such as elbows or knees.Because is seems to work a bit more gradually, I also haven't had issues with sudden changes in skin color where I didn't apply quite enoughit seems to blend much more seamlessly than other lotions I've tried.

As for scent, it far surpasses any other lotion I've tried so far.The lotion starts off with a sweet scent that is not overpowering and in the world of sunless tanning lotions, quite pleasant.After the lotion has set, it does have a slight chemical scent, but not overpowering or anything that made me feel self-conscious.I haven't had any problems with run-off onto clothes or fabric, but I do let the lotion dry for about ten minutes before letting it rub on to anything.The extra bonus is the drying component of the lotionit lasts all day and my skin feels soft and silky, no greasy.

If you're looking for a new sunless tanning lotion to try I'd recommend giving this one a shot.It's relatively cheap, gives a natural color with a pleasant smell, and won't leave you looking like a splotchy pumpkin in July.

I love this stuff.I have very fair skin, but don't like to get too much sun (skin cancer runs in the family).I love being able to use this for a week or two and have enough color to wear shorts or a skirt without being embarassed.I hope they never discontinue it!!If you are looking for a true "tan" look, this will not provide it!!It simply gives a nice natural glow.

This stuff does have a nice subtle sun kissed look but a day after use it clogs my pores and causes huge pimples. I put it off as a coinecdence but quickly found out this stuff is doing the damage. would not recommend to anyone with larger pores.

It worked for the most part. It didn't turn me as orange as other ones do, but it still did a little. Using a dry wash cloth helps it not be streaky

This is a top-notch lotion for gradually adding color. The scent is quite light (citrus-y maybe?) and it doesn't bother my sensitive skin that often gets itchy from various products.

Though seemingly a small complaint, the one downside is an issue with every application. Because of the shape of this bottle, when your hands are slippery (with lotion, duh), it's really hard to hold onto. If it had a squeeze top or had ridges or some other "grip" option, it would be 5-star. Other products from other brands (like 'Oil of...') are in squeeze tubes or other easier-to-handle shapes.

If you think that will drive you a little nuts, I'd suggest you try something else.
