I bought this because I was looking for a moisturizer with sunscreen for my arms. I am not sure if the sunscreen works but it is not very moisturizing.After half a day, my skin looks flaky and dry again. It goes on like zinc oxide so it does not feel very smooth or silky on your skin.I will use what I have, though I have been putting it on over another moisturizer.I will not purchase again.
I give it 4 out of 5 because while I wouldn't say the feel of the lotion is sticky or greasy even after letting it "sink in" for awhile, when I touch my skin, I know it's on there. It's not a heavy feeling and I can certainly get used to it, it may be the thickness of the lotion and the added "hydration" which, my skin is not dry so it may not fully absorb into my skin. I can't really describe it. It says on the tube that it is for all skin types, but I am thinking that all skin types may not have the same experience with this lotion. I think those with dryer skin may get the full benefit of the hydration and appreciate it more than I do, but it does make my skin feel very soft. Another thing about the lotion is it does have a fragrance which can be overwhelming to those with a sensitive nose. It is a bit on the perfume-y side for me, but I would rather have that than an overwhelming sunscreen smell.
I love using my Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion, but using it daily at $40 a bottle, it can get pricey and it also contains parabens. I am willing to overlook the "feel" of Yes to Carrots Hydrating Body Lotion on my skin only because I have spent months and months in search of a paraben-free, oxybenzone-free sunscreen that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Yes, the $15 tag is still steep compared to other store brands, but feeling safe with what I put on my skin is definitely worth the extra dollars.This lotion has its definite pros and cons, and you need to weigh them according to what exactly you want out of your sunscreen. For me, the SPF factor is obviously the highest priority and then what the sunscreen contains. You can buy a cheaper sunscreen and get a larger bottle, but what you're ultimately getting are chemicals which may in the long run be harmful to you. If the ingredients don't matter to you, then save your bucks. But if you're like me and want to know exactly what it being absorbed into your skin, especially when you're using something like sunscreen daily, then definitely try this out and see if it's for you.

Because this product is 94%+ natural, I willingly slathered my body in it before boating yesterday even though its consistency is pretty darn off-putting. Despite the fact that I had moved into the shade of the bimini after an hour in the sun, I again applied it after an hour on the water, again at the 3 or 4 hour mark, and again at the 5 or 6 hour mark, with periodic reapplication to the most tender and susceptible skin. So, on the whole, I was in a boat for 6.5 hours, in the shade for 5 hours of that, applied the gloopy sunscreen 3 times all over and several more times to shoulders, knees, etc., and yet I have a ridiculously painful, red, and inflamed sunburn on every bit of the front of my body EXCEPT my face, to which I applied L'Occitane's now-discontinued Almond Apple SPF 40 Velvet Face Fluid only once for the entire day.
This so-called SPF 30 body moisturizer is ineffective gloop at best, and, at worst, well, they have a bridge they'd like to sell you.
I highly recommend against purchasing this product.

Not bad, although I would not be crazy enough to spend a day on the water with SPF 30 and think I could get away with it. (You may think you're in the shade...) Most people don't put on enough. And with sunscreen it's not the SPF though, it's the ingredients. Zinc lasts a little longer than chemicals; oxybenzone deteriorates after about 6 hours in lab conditions, certainly much less in reality.
I'm not as concerned about Vitamin A as a lesser ingredient as it is in this case, as with ingredients like oxybenzone, so prevalent in most sunscreens and not this one.Oxybenzone penentrates the skin and is known for hormone disruption.I'm going with the zinc and a little Vitamin A.
Fragrance is personal and I don't get anything objectionable, in fact, I don't think it smells enough.It absorbed well on me and the feeling was matte.I too feel the zinc and the dead sea minerals.No greasy feel for me.
This isn't a sunscreen for the beach; it's for daily wear.

This is one of the most horrible "body lotion" or "spf" products I've ever used. As a body lotion it's very heavy and smothering, and NEVER soaks in. I tried it on my hands alone, I tried it on my arms and legs (BODY lotion, ya know) -I would still be greasy literally 12 hours later. My husband would make me go shower before he would hug me. Plus, it came out of the bottle really strangely -the product was poorly blended so there would be runny oil and then chunks of the lotion and I would have to try to blend them on my skin.
There are many organic/natural companies that make actual sunscreen that absorbs better than this "lotion." Also as of today, this product contains vitamin A (RETINYL PALMITATE), which clinical studies have shown may increase the risk of skin lesions in rats. Nothing definitive in humans yet, but why risk it? Don't take my word for it though, google "Skin deep sunscreen database" and look for "sunscreens exposed" and "vitamin A" for more data. Not something you want to mess around with!
Oh, and did I mention I tried two different bottles, with the exact same results? One I bought online, the other at a drugstore. I was THAT excited about this product, that I ordered it online and then saw it on sale and bought another bottle at a drugstore a day later, and both bottles failed me horribly.

The days where I have put this on and spent the day in the sun, my face has not burned at all, even though I did not reapply. Keep in mind that this is not a regular moisturizer, so a little goes a long way. A tiny (pearl-sized) dollop will cover your entire face. Also, it is not a thick, foundation-like coverage, its just a tint, so if you have a spot or circle you want to cover, you might need concealer. After about one month of use, I have noticed a SUBSTANTIAL difference in the way my skin looks and feels and have even started getting compliments on my skin (which hasn't happened inyears). Yes, the product is a little pricey, but in my opinion, worth every penny.
