I am really health conscious, so when I went shopping around for a good sunscreen for my face I first went to Consumer Reports.They rated Neutrogena Ultra Sheer as the best sunscreen to block out UVA/UVB rays.I went out and bought this, and it felt great, HOWEVER, I discovered that it contains oxybenzone, which is a toxic chemical that easily absorbs into your skin and triggers free-radicals that go on to damage your skin cells, which is exactly what you're trying to prevent! To be fair though, oxybenzone is still present in many other brands of sunscreen and more research is needed to test its toxicity.I looked into the EWG (environmental working group) ratings on their website for a safer alternative and then went to the Whole Foods Market to test out all of their natural sunscreens.Most were oily (which cause breakouts on the face) or appeared white on the skin and did not absorb well.The only sunscreen that was oil-free, smelled good, and absorbed well was Kiss My Face Face Factor.Now I use this under my mineral make-up everyday and it's been great.I highly recommend this product to anyone.
My skin is ridiculously sensitive with mild signs of rosacea. I can not use any fragrance or chemical suncreen.I have tried every product from the overpriced La Roche Pose Brand (which gave me a chemical burn on my face and burned my corneas) to over advertised and overrated Nuetrogena for Sensitive Skin which makes you look like a white faced clown all day. Not cute.
If you have truly sensitive skin that is fair, blemish prone, possible rosacea, reacts badly to almost anything, dry, etc. you should not be dissapointed. Honestly, it has been a lifesaver for my skin and I will never use another overrated/rip off product again. I live in Seattle where the Sun shines about 10 days a year and I still use this everyday. Plus, you can wear foundation/powder make up over it which is cool.
