Bull Frog SuperBlock Lotion Sunblock

Bull Frog superblock fell short of my expectations after using many other Bull Frog products. The lotion does not rub into the skin easily leaving thick white splotches on the applied area. The lotion is also quick to transfer from the skin to anything touched and leaves a nasty white residue that is difficult to remove. The lotion also runs on the skin when the applicant perspires.

Overall, I would not recommend this product, as it bleeds into my eyes in addition to leaving me looking like an actor in a bad bukkake film.

Some dishonest sellers are cutting out the expiration date on these and then covering the area with a security label. They are selling expired lotion at current prices.

I remember back in the 90's when Aloe gator and Bull Frog had some very good products that worked well through an 8 hr surfing session in San Diego.

In the last many years lots has changed with sunblocks and few actually stay on more than a 1/2 hour. When going on a month surfing trip to Bali, Indonesia the past month, I was concerned about which sunblock would do the job while surfing in equatorial sun that burns you in 1 minute. Plus the constant rubbing of your face and water exposure while surfing, snorkeling, etc.

THIS STUFF WORKS! It stayed on no matter how long i surfed and i NEVER GOT BURNED ONCE! Nobody else i met could say that after 2 hours!

YES, it is true you will be clown white sort of but not soooo bad, but yes it is NOT clear, but whats better: being burned and not knowing your protected or being totally protected UNTIL you decide to take it off. This is one of the best products on the market for the swimmer, surfer, ocean going sailor, etc.

YOU WILL NOT GET BURNED NO MATTER HOW LONG YOU ARE IN THE WATER and for me who surfs many hours a day, that is a HUGE plus.

you cant put a price on protection but bullfrog did at about $7-10/ bottle and it is one of the MOST economical there is sure Vertra is good, but it is clay brown and gets on your clothes etc and costs 10x more yes a .5oz tube costs $25 versus 5 oz of the this for $7!

PROS:

TOTALLY WATERPROOF stays on through anything!

IT WORKS!!! better than almost anything on the market!

TOTAL PROTECTION IN AND OUT OF THE WATER ALL DAY FOR THE MOST DEMANDING ATHLETE in the MOST intense sun there is!

CONS:

Slightly white-ish looking on your face but hey you KNOW it's there

I always look for sunblock with either titanium dioxide or zinc oxide as the active ingredient as recommended by my dermatologist since they provide both a physical and chemical barrier to sun damage for the skin.Bullfrog used to make a 45 spf version of superblock with 4.5% titanium dioxide which provided perfect protection without giving you too much of a "ghost face".This version has 7% ti di which in theory provides better protection but tends to give you severe clown face.It also has a strong unpleasant chemical smell.There's a newer Bullfrog spf 40 super lotion that goes back to the 4.5% titanium formulation which works just like the old stuff without making you look like an extra from Cirque du Soleil.

In summary, this stuff works but definitely not for your face and only if you can stand the strong chemical smell.

I bought this item ... well more than just one at once because I was going to Cancun for the third time and I know what happens when you are not well protected from the sun there. When I received the package I was not totally satisfied but I figured that for the price it was not worth it to return the items. Some bottles came with proper packaging and others had no seal on the top and one even had some tape on it ... so there went the tampering with the seal policy.

I opened them up and figured they probably just fill them up or heaven knows what but when we used the product it leaves a heavy white coat on your skin... not very attractive i must say but when we ran out of our other spray sunblock... hawaiian tropic ozone 30 spf which i must say is sooo much better ... we resulted to using this one because sunblock is 20 dollars and up in mexico....

will i buy this again probably not. I reccommend the spray hawaiian tropic or the cream ... not pleased with BULL FROG
