I like the fact that even though it's an oil --it's not an oily oil.Meaning it absorbed quickly and didn't leave an oil residue. I originally purchased it for my hair but liked it so much I started using it on my skin as well.I will continue to purchase this product.
I've been using the shea butter oil on my hair and skin for almost a week now and let me just say, I am in love with it! My skin has never felt so soft and for once I don't have to keep applying something to it throughout the day. After my shower in the morning I apply the shea butter oil over my body and I'm good for the rest of the day. I also use it on my hair and let me tell you it is a miracle. I'm African American and have extremely coarse hair. The shea butter oil has softened it up and given it a healthier appearance. I can't keep my hands out of my hair. I apply it to my scalp and hair, wrap it at night and then in the morning when I unwrap my hair, it looks like I came out of the salon. This is one of the best purchases and I will definitely be ordering more!

I recently bought this from Amazon to use on my hair,and I'm glad I did, it's working really well.
I rub it into my scalp first, and then rub from root to tip on my hair,and leave it on for about an hour before washing it. The results have been great, my hair is extremely soft, and my scalp feels a lot healthier.
As far as the size of the bottle goes,I think it's actually a pretty good size.
And you can't tell from the picture,but the top of the cap has an applicator attached,
which makes it a lot easier when applying the oil to the scalp and roots.
I haven't tried it on my skin yet,
but I'd defiantly recommend it to anyone with dry or damaged hair,
especially if you color it frequently.

()This product is different than anything I have tried before. It is very thin, almost the consistency of milk. It feels like nothing is on. I'm a make-up minimalist: I use a moisturizer, and sometimes a mineral powder. There is no "product sweating". What I mean is, sometimes a moisturizer/sunscreen makes white 'puddles' when out in hot sun. This product has none of that. It feels really nice on my skin. And the high SPF is awesome. I definitely recommend this product.
()Neutrogena Healthy Defense Liquid Moisturizer SPF 50 With Helioplex is my new favorite SPF product for the face.I've destroyed my skin by exposure to the sun, so I do not go out without sunscreen, and this one is an absolute winner for my delicate and sensitive skin.Working in a garden, I often have felt my eyes burn and water with SPF moisturizers flowing as I perspired, but this stuff is great!I have been using Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream with another SPF product on top, either a J&J product, Kinerase, or Kiehl's, but this is better for me than any of those, even the more expensive products.In a small bottle, it doesn't take up a lot of space, and the mixing balls let you know the product is moving around when it's shaken prior to use.The small tip allows for minimal liquid to be dispensed onto the fingers (directions say into the palm, but I use the fingers), so it's not wasted.I am not sensitive to the indiscernible scent and I've not shown any redness or sensitivity to the product.For dry skin, it's definitely not enough moisturizer, but then I've always used the two step approach anyway.I'm hooked AND protected.
ADDENDUM:After using this product for a bit longer, I must add one criticism.It's not always easy to get the lid lined up on the first try and I sometimes have to struggle with multiple attempts to close the bottle.Despite my clumsiness,I love the sunscreen even more than when I wrote the first review and I've discovered that the small size at 1.4 oz allows for taking the entire product on journeys with the NTSB travel regulations, a definite asset for travelers!!

()I don't know about the science behind "helioplex" (my mozilla firefox browser puts a red line under the word, that should be your first clue it's a bit dodgy) but this thin lotion is a nice product that feels like it's working. I think it makes my skin look better (and isn't that what these products are all about?) The SPF 50 is great and the price is right. Neutrogena is always great for hypoalergenic products. This one smells a little like my mother's "skin so soft" but thescent doesn't linger.
One of the better high-end lotions (hey, it's high end for me! I don't do the $50+ a gram lotions) I have tried.
()Not a bad product but hardly ideal.
The Pros: Light weight and non-oily, it also works well with Retin-A and at the end of an 8 -10 hour day in the sun my cheeks were only slightly pink so there was some definite sunscreen coverage.
The Cons: A bit too light weight and my skin felt a bit dry half way through the day. ( I live in Wyoming a very dry state. In a more humid state this would probably be just right.) Also since my skin was not fully moisturized it stings a bit every time I apply it. I have combination skin so I would really have to re-apply it at some point in the day to maximize it's effects.
For it's price, in my experience, this is as good as a moisturizer can get without being greasy and causing breakouts. I do not have a problem using this in fact I have found it most ideal for travel conditions.

()Neutrogena is a trusted name, and this lotion is a nice addition to their line. It's lightweight enough to be comfortable on a humid summer day, but it's still an effective moisturizer. In the winter, you might want to use it as a sunscreen under your regular moisturizer, if you like a richer product.
The active ingredients are avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, octocrylene, and oxybenzone, a cocktail which adds up to 21% of the total ingredients. This gives the product an SPF of 50.
The only reason I would give this item four stars rather than five is the scent. I found it unpleasant, and there it is right on your face where you can't avoid it. That's a matter of personal taste, though.

I really like how finely refined this stuff is, never had a single lump or speck in here. It blends really well, I've always just used my finger to apply it, and even when it settles into the creases on my eyelids or around my mouth all I have to do is re-blend. It's also very light and I hardly notice when I have it on. It's never made me break out or given me any adverse reactions.With my sunlight allergy sun screen helps cut down on my symptoms, so it's very nice that this foundation has a good SPF factor so I don't have to wear sun screen (if anyone knows of a vegan sun screen that doesn't smell funny and also doesn't feel like you're wearing a thin layer of grease, I'd love to hear about it!). Also because I can't go in the sun I'm very, very pale and this is one of the VERY few vegan foundations that's light enough to match my skin tone.
I recommend using very small amounts of it because a little goes a long way. If you use too much you may end up with a 'cakey' look and/or it will just settle into any creases quickly. I also recommend using a light powder on oily arias because the oils will make it travel a bit.
It may seem expensive but since you need so little each time it lasts a while. I think with daily use, a bottle should last about two months.
All in all I think it's a great product and I highly recommend it!

I have used philosophy shelter for about three years. The previous shelter was only 15 spf but was much easier to use. The new version has higher spf and is much thicker and has a strange tan color. It reminds of bit o honey candy in terms of color and fragrance. Not to swift. The strange tan color is actually from the un-tinted one. I have blonde hair/ eyebrows so it stains my eyebrows which bothers me. I have to try and rub off the weird yellow residue on eyebrows after applying to my face. I would have preferred that they simply make the untinted version white/ or no color. In terms of protection, it does a good job. It absorbs quickly. warning! this product WILL stain your clothes with the icky tan color so be careful to wash your hands after applying.
I will wear no other sunscreen on my face, only need a a half of a pea size amount,this stuff is Awesome. Your face feels like silk after applying. Put over your moisturizer then your foundation over the shelter, your foundation will go on so smooth.

I really like this sunscreen. It is a little pasty once you put it on but it goes on smooth. I have a mix of oily and normal/dry skin on my face, so I do use oil blotters throughout the day when I have this sunscreen on.There is absolutely no smell which is nice.

My mom bought this home from a salon and she didn't like it I asked her if I could have it and she said yes. I've been using it ever since then. I like this a lot. It holds really well especially when i put my hair in a scrunched messy bun but i don't like the smell. This is the reformulated All Terrain containing only 19%zinc oxide as the active sunscreen filter. I bought this to use on my son, who hates to sit still for sunscreen applications, especially cream formulas. Most spray-on sunscreen use some combination of chemical filters; the All Terrain is the only spray form zinc oxide based sunscreen I have found. I prefer to use zinc and/or titanium dioxide for sunscreen because they are not absorbed through my sons skin. Shake first to ensure the zinc is suspended in the liquid. This applies quickly, and while it does require spreading over the skin, the slippery smooth milky textured formula spreads fast and is very water resistant. (The only thing that could make it faster is if it was aerosol dispensed in a fine mist that did not need to be spread by hand over skin.) I just bought this in a store and it is labeled on the pkg "Oxybenzone and Paraben-Free". It does have Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. The exp date is 3-13, so maybe you got an old formula. I also bought this product based upon the EWG rating and, having just received it today, was likewise horrified to find that it contains oxybenzone, vitamin A, as well as a litany of other ingredients which I was specifically trying to avoid, especially when paying a premium price.Obviously, they changed their formulation since EWG purchased theirs.There are better options, like Vanicream and Purple Prairie, which I also ordered.

I looked for a sunscreen that wasn't full of chemicals (the kind that react with skin to form the sun barrier) so that's why I tried this sunscreen.Aquasport was just ok, not great, but not too bad either.It appears that it's a formulation with a sun block powder mixed with an oily substance.
You have to shake it a little to keep them together, but they do stay together while applying.
There's no white residue, which I liked.
What I didn't like was the look and feel of being oiled up. I looked greasy and it stayed that was for about an hour.I prefer a drier feel so I can put on my bathing suit and coverup sooner.
I burned at the beach, but only mildly.

I bought this sunblock because I read that it would be gentle on my daughter's sensitive skin.We've been using it for most of this summer, and I've been very happy with it.It's the only sunscreen that I've found that doesn't aggravate her eczema. It is fragrance free, as far as I can tell.It is a little difficult to completely rub it into the skin... but I don't mind some white blotches.. that way I know for sure she's covered!

I'm using this sunblock on my kids and it works pretty well. One minus, it takes a long time for it to rub in, which for me is a bit too long when you have squirmy toddlers on your hands who can care less about sun protection.

California Baby SPF30+ Sunscreen Lotion, Everyday/Year Round, Water Resistant and Hypo-Allergenic,
I climb mountains, so my skin gets the maximum possible exposure to the sun (direct, high altitudes = less atmospheric protection, and reflection off the snow from below). I purchased this and three other highly rated sunscreens. The others are zinc or titanium oxide based. All do a fairly good job of protecting my skin.The big difference, and why this one wins out over the others is the smoothness of application. The others are rather 'stiff', and require a fair bit of working in to get good coverage and no white spots. I always end up coming home with a spot or two that got missed (elbows, back of the arm, etc) and are bright pink. Not to mention the white stains on my shirts.With this sunscreen, it goes on smoothly, lasts the 3-5 hours between applications (may last longer, but I don't even try), and I don't have sensitive pink spots in out of the way places.
It goes on pretty thick and white so you can really make sure you're spreading it everywhere you want to.However, I did find a little goes a long way or else it's too thick and you can't get it all rubbed in.
Even after a beach vacation, she didn't get a ray of sun.we all use this sunscreen in our house and it works super well. it is great for sensitive skin. it lasts through dips in the pool. it smells nice too.
I bought this sunscreen for myself and my 2 boys ages 6 & 14. I've only used it once on my 6 yr old because it was soooo much trouble to put on. It is extremely thick and difficult to rub in evenly on the skin. It rates very well for protection and safety of ingredients but if your trying to put it on anyone over the age of 1 who is mobile then it's tough to use.
