I am a very fair-skinned blonde, and purchased this to help me prevent sunburn, as I am a bike rider and outside a great deal. The sensor does not seem to respond to changes in light intensity, and even when I would stop and reset it to a brighter light, it still allowed HOURS of sun exposure. Plus, if you leave it on and then put it in a dark place, eventually the alarm goes off. I did not see any evidence that the light sensor functioned at all after the initial setting. It did not alert me to excessive sun exposure--it allows far too much time in the sun.On another note, the belt clip is an inadequate attachment for any sport that involves riding over bumps, jostling, etc. It is convenient, but a more positive attachment is needed.
Back to the disposable strips, I guess.
This is a little gem.I used it all summer.Remarkably, when set to my skin type and periodically (semi-automatically) readjusted for sun intensity, the time ran out just before I would feel the tightness in my skin from sun exposure.The first summer ever without a single minor burn.Recommend it?YES!!!!

I've used them 3 times now and it doesn't look like a lightening bolt, more like a large, lumpy line. This creamy makeup has been my favorite for a while now. It's easy to apply, not requiring more attention than I can spare before leaving for work in the morning, and lasts well. It doesn't rub off on my clothes, which is important in the winter when scarves and coat collars are too easily stained by some other brands.If it's so great, why did L'Oreal discontinue it? Who knows? I guess for the same reason they're discontinuing the cleanser and moisturizer I like best. Fortunately Amazon has links to sellers who can still supply it so we have a reprieve on the search for a replacement.
I wouldn't recommend choosing a makeup shade from the computer, since the differences between shades are pretty subtle. Since I already knew what color suits me best, that wasn't a problem. Five stars for this product and a no thanks at all to L'Oreal for taking it out of their line.

I tried this product because I had been so pleased with other Palmer's products.This one did not disappoint!I use it on my face, neck and chest.Since entering my "pre-menopausal" years, my neck and chest have developed a redness that doesn't go away.This lotion seems to diminish the redness, and make my skin in these areas more of a match to the rest of my skin tone.Like the other Palmer's products, it does not have a heavy, perfumey scent.It is not greasy, and like another review said, my makeup seems to glide on easily over this product.I have been using it for about 2-3 months and plan to purchase again.

Yes, this product leaves a little bit of a white residue on your skin, and you have to rub it in really well.However, I have yet to have a sunburn while wearing this product.Even after hours upon hours out at the beach (not even re-applying like they recommend, oops!) I come back from the beach with no burns.You probably will not get a great "tan" using this product, but you will tan a little bit for a sun-kissed hue.I would take sun-kissed and un-burned skin any day over frying in the sun.Best sunscreen I have tried to date!Highly recommended!!

Another example of paying for the name and not for the results. I like that the scent does not overpower and it does not feel greasy on the skin, but there are dozens of cheaper products out there that are as effective as this pricey sun-protection lotion.
Gave it one more shot, reapplying all the time, and still got burned. Not an all over burn either, but a splotchy, bizarre burn (that will of course turn into a splotchy, bizarre tan). It looked like my bikini was glowing red while I was wearing it. I think this is because my wet swimsuit was washing it off, even after reapplying after dipping in the pool. Also, I have nice splotchy spots in the small of by back and in the creases of my elbows! This is most likely due to sweat washing it off. It also says to reapply after sweating. Really? REALLY? I am supposed to reapply every what, 15 minutes? It's hot! I'm going to sweat! It says sweat resistant! Goodness.
If you don't burn easily, go for it I guess. It at least smells really nice and blends in quickly. Just be careful!
Also, sunscreen expires. Keep that in mind when buying it online (especially since BBW didn't seem to make it this year, so any online are going to be about a year old).A friend and I have used this product since it was introduced at Bath & Body Works.
We always had to anticipate when they would have it in stock, as it would sell out and they would not restock it during the Spring, Summer season--which made no sense to us at all!When I checked this February before going on s trip South, I was told that they had NONE, and it was no longer going to be carried.That's when I turned to Amazon and found a new supplier.I'm so happy to be able to still get this product.It is so perfect.Doesn't smell, works so very well, and I'll continue to use it as long as I can get it.In short, It's Fantastic.

I have used this stuff for years and it still is the best affordable tanning OIL in my opinion. (Yes I capitalized OIL because some of the reviewers on here apparently can't read the label and complained that this product is too "oily"...duh, it's tanning "oil" people!) It smells so tropical and wonderful with a hint of coconut and other exotic fruits and flowers. It is the bests scent of any tanning oil I've ever tried and it works...really works! The best thing about Hawaiian Tropic dark tanning oil is that you can find it at just about anywhere...even Walmart! When my husband and I went to Cancun on our honeymoon, it was even there in the gift shop. So, I give this product 2 thumbs up and 5 stars!

this product makes your skin feel wonderful after use.i spend a lot of time at the beach, and my skin is sensitive to the salt water.Due to the wonderful consistency of this oil, my legs to not get painfully red and irritated after going in the water post shaving, as the oil protects them.when i only have an hour or two to spend at the beach, i don't even get a hint of color unless i use tanning oil, and this one works wonderfully while softening my skin!

OK first of all, it's tanning oil, not tanning lotion, so naturally it's going to be oily! Secondly, it's less than $10USD at any Walmart or CVS or RiteAid type place I've ever been in, so of course it's not going to be some miracle tan product! For the money, it smells good, moisturizes decently for when you're laying out in the sun (NEVER use this in a tanning bed by the way!), the spray bottle lets you control your coverage, and it even comes in an SPF 4 or 8 version so you have *some* sun protection. All in all, it's a good product for the price.

Clinique Redness Solution Daily Protective Base SPF 15 Foundation Makeup
No over-the-counter product is going to cure rosacea, at least nothing yet invented.However, there are three things that skin care products *can* do for those of us with rosacea*:1) cover up the redness, usually with a green-tinted moisturizer.In most formulations, this is something you can use whether or not you wear makeup or any other facial products.
2) avoid irritating the skin.If you have rosacea, your skin is already prone to get irritated and flush from a wide variety of causes--even simply washing it.This flushing is what, over time, makes your red skin worse. A good rosacea product will not irritate your skin but might even soothe it a bit.
3) diminish redness over time.This is a claim I've seen products make, but I've never actually noticed any lessening of redness in anything OTC product I've tried.Your dermatologist can prescribe a topical antibiotic that may help.
So, how does this product stack up?I think it works really well for #1 and #2.For #1, Eucerin's Redness Relief Daily Perfecting Lotion may be a bit better (it's definitely less expensive).However, Clinique's daily protective base blends in much more easily, so you don't have to worry about getting into bright sunlight and discovering a green patch on your face.It also has a pleasant, herbal fragrance, a bit like dill.It doesn't aggravate my skin at all.Both it and the Eucerin lotion have SPF 15; according to my doctor, people with rosacea should be wearing SPF 30 or 35, but I haven't seen that as an option in any of these redness cover-ups.If you decide you'd like to try this Clinique product, it's much cheaper ($17.50) on their website (or Sephora) than it is on amazon.com, at least as I write this review.
Disadvantage:This product isn't a moisturizer.If you regularly wear a moisturizer, you'll need to continue doing so.Eucerin's competing product is a pretty decent moisturizer in itself. If you go with Clinique's product, they also have a good calming moisturizer for rosacea.A terrific moisturizer for rosacea is Dermalogica's Barrier Repair.That's an expensive product, so you might want to try it first in Dermalogica's travel kit for sensitive skin.
*I'm not a dermatologist, but I've been talking to my dermatologist a lot about this and experimenting with different products for three years now.

Used to use Eucerin products until I tried this stuff.OMG, this is sooo much better.Not much more expensive, you get a bit less in volume, but you need much less to get an even better effect.It's thicker, spreads more evenly and seems to cover better than the Eucerin.

I have Rosacea and bought the product to cover up the redness on my cheeks and nose. It didn't do the job and I tossed it. In years past I had a product that was thicker than this and did do the job. I just can't remember the name of it and don't even know if it is still produced. Not this one for rosacea sufferers. It might be fine for those with a ruddy complexion, however.

I am a very pale skinned person prone to sunburn so I was really excited ot try this sunscreen. I am also trying to cut out many of the unnecessary chemicals in my skin care products, which was the major reason I chose this brand. I used it for the first time over the July 4th weekend and have a few comments.The coconut smell is strong out of the tube but then dissipates very quickly. The tube says that this product is "Very, very waterproof" and they are not kidding. I've likened wearing this sunscreen to going through a wax and polish cycle in a car wash. It rendered me completely impervious to water. While I guess this is a good thing if you intend to actually stay in water, I found that after a quick splash in the sea, water did not evaporate from my skin, it just stayed beaded on there. I have a feeling this may have contributed to the light sunburn I did get in my, ahem, damper areas (edges of bikini top, around bikini bottom) despite reapplying after swimming. I applied sunscreen twice in two hours which is more frequently than recommended on the bottle. The waxy nature of the sunscreen made it necessary to really scrub myself down to get it all off my skin.
Basically I spent a fair whack of money on this stuff and it does work, but it's unlikely that I will buy a second tube. I also wont be using it on my face, it's far too thick.

I was looking for a natural sunscreen to use every day that relied on physical blockers (like zinc oxide) rather than chemical blockers. Graham's SunClear is great in that respect. It has a light, coconut smell and smooths on clear.However, the product itself is a very thick cream that, at least for me, felt greasy long after I applied it. No big deal if you're planning to go out and get dirty, but a bit unpleasant if you're just going to be sitting out on the patio. Be forewarned, it's more of a workhorse product than an everyday product. It's VERY waterproof, thoughI wore it swimming and kayaking and only got sunburned on the areas where I forgot to reapply it after the recommended time.

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35 Light/Medium
This was my first bb cream, I saw a commercial and was sold. I used to think this stuff was great.I used it all the time..UNTIL I got a sample of the stila illuminator bb cream.Then I realized maybe it isn't the best thing..The smashbox is probably great if you have oily skin but for those of us with regular-dry skin, this stuff doesn't compare to other formulas out there.Stila and TooFaced both make a BB cream that's way more silky, they let your skin breath and they offer more product.This one tends to dry/flake, especially if you don't put on moisturizer underneath.The coverage is also something of a bother.Being younger I like my skin to show through, which is why I chose a BB cream vs foundation.This has the coverage of a light foundation, and makes my skin look very matte and dull.I get complements on my skin without this on, rather than with.So, eventually I found Stila's BB cream and that's a 10 for me.

Elemental Herbs Sunscreen Kids SPF 30
I have tried this sunscreen on my face using one that was purchased at a health food store. It is a 3oz tube. When I purchased it from the store the cost was around $14 including taxes (I have purchased the Kid and Sport versions, both have the same ingredients listing just slightly different packaging label).It goes on pretty well and does not leave a bad overly white film or dry up and leave patches on the face. It has 20% Zinc that they say is non-nano. If you want a sunscreen that is not overly greasy and not overly drying or too whitening this seems like a nice one. It is one of very few natural sunscreens that you can use on its own without first having to put oil on your face or having to put a skin color tint/powder on your face to cover white. It spreads okay and does not force you to rub so hard like other ones. You of course have to spread it well around but you do not have to be as forceful as you do with other natural sunscreens that really make you rub your face to get the white cast out.
This Sunscreen comes labeled as either a Sport or Kids Version...both have the same exact ingredients listing.
