SanRe Organic Skinfood - Sparkling Aloe - Organic Aloe Vera Day Cream For Oily/Combination to Acne

I chose this formula over the other two SPF30 formulas because I have combination skin.Also because EWP rates Sanre SPF30 as a good/safe sunblock moisturizer.I'm not sure if this is suitable for my combination skin though.When you open the jar, the cream looks like a well packed lard (it looks totally ok) and not shiny at all.When I applied the creme on my face, it looks shiny, with absolutely no white film, and leaves skin a little sticky after a few minutes.I'm not completely satisfied.I wish Karen's Botanicals made SPF30 formulas (SPF15 available only) but until they do, I will keep searching for that perfect non-chemical, all natural moisturizer with higher sun protection.

I *really* wanted to love this product, especially since it's almost impossible to find a face moisturizer that has SPF and is organic.

Sadly, as soon as I tried it, my face started turning red very, VERY red.I do NOT have sensitive skin and I've never had an allergic reaction to ANY product but my skin does not tolerate Sparkling Aloe day cream.

I was also sent a trial of the "Siesta Sunset" so I tried that and SAME thing (so I'll post this review there as well). So there must be some SanRe ingredient that doesn't agree with me.

Otherwise, scent and texture were agreeable. Bit on the pricey side but if it worked out I'd be willing to pay it (it's worth it)!

Side note: Interestingly enough, I tried leaving this review on the SanRe website but obviously they only accept 5 star praises (and once in awhile a 4 star praise), as mine was not accepted for posting.

I was hesitating in ordering this cream as I have very oily skin and other people have reviewed it as a bit greasy. The first time I used it I realized exactly what they meant. Compared to my other moisturizing lotion/gel, this cream feels very rich on the skin. This is a no-no for oily skin but I though I'd give it a week and see what I think...well it's been a week and I love this moisturizer. I do not notice any extra oiliness since using this cream and I love that it has natural ingredients and high SPF! I sometimes break out during that certain time of the month but I did not have a single breakout! This is my new favorite face moisturizer.

I like the fact that it gets absorbed easily on skin and has no oil compared to those in lotion type sunblock. But like most sunblocks, it leaves a shiny look on skin, i was thinking that since this is a gel based product, it will give off a matte finish, but it doesn't. Shipping is quick and the product is as described.

I have to give 3 stars but the pros and cons are something to consider: PROs: It does prevent sunburn when applied properly and does have a pretty good level of waterproofness BUT I experienced these CONS:1. It has weird tendency to cause your skin to exfoliate after applying. I used it this morning, (applied 30 minutes before going out) and while out on the boat and after sweating a little, (this stuff has a melting consistency)so i kept rubbing it back into my skin and I noticed dead skin starting to roll off.I guess if you want to exfoliate your skin this might be a good thing, but I find it weird, NOT SEXY andaggravating.2. It causes your skin to shine from the minute you apply. 3. It never really really sinks in and disappears.4. DO NOT use on face or forehead as it does migrate into your eyes after sweating.*I found this out the hard way going down the interstate doing 65mpg and having to pull over and douse my face with bottled water,( I was rendered blind until I could get it off.) Wash your hands well after applying to avoid irritation to eyes.

Every year when I go to Destin Florida for a week vacation I always purchase Bull Frog Quik Gel.Every year I am amazed that I can apply this stuff ONCE in the morning and it will last 8 hours easily.I am extremely active on the beach competitive volleyball, swimming in the ocean, and of course relaxing in the sun.

I ordered 4 bottles because previous reviewers indicated that it takes a lot to cover themselves.I was on the beach 7 days, applied to my whole body (aside from face) and I'm 6' 2" I didn't even go through ONE bottle!!If you are using this up quickly then you are not applying sunscreen correctly!

It is QUICK DRYING GEL, so take a small amount and *quickly* rub it on (seriously, like 10 seconds or less!).It is NOT like ordinary suncreens where you have to rub for 5 minutes to get it to absorb and dry.If you rub too much it will indeed begin to flake off.

Yes, this does leave you glistening a bit.Because I walk to the beach shirtless and stay that way all day it never bothered me at all.But I probably wouldn't apply this stuff and then put on a nice shirt (but who wears nice shirts to the beach with sunscreen anyway?)

All in all this is the perfect sunscreen for beach or lake users!

I live in Arizona and with the heat here I need something not so greasy. This product is not greasy and offers great protection. Feels and looks good on. Not chalky looking. I use it for myself.

I decided to try this for my face because I use mineral-based sunscreens every day in lieu of makeup (sounds weird but I use powder over it). It has a tinge of white cast as every single mineral block with a decent spf will, but not as bad as you'd expect for the amount of zinc and titanium. I'm pretty fair, though, so it's possible it may be more noticeable on darker skin, not sure. It has a nice light scent that I wouldn't describe as vanilla really, but is not cloying and goes away after a while. I like the ingredientsthere's a lot of natural and organic stuff in it and it has a good consistency. It's more moisturizing than another one I've tried "California Baby" (also a good one), but I use powder over it and tend to have dry skin so it eliminates shininess. It might not be good for you if you have oily skin. It kind of gives my face a bit of a glow that I like, almost like a primer. I will purchase again. I gave 4 stars because it doesn't have that perfect creamy consistency that a fave of mine from the past had (Clinique body block 25), but this probably doesn't make a difference to most people!

I have very bad cracked, dry lips, especially in the winter. I also tend to peel the skin off my lips. I have had all kinds of lip balms, and none seemed to work for me whatsoever. (I really hate the waxy ChapStick)

I have never been so impressed with a lip balm. It's not waxy and it heals wonderfully. The smell reminds me of Pepto Bismol, but it's not unpleasant. It doesn't take long to get used to and it's only noticeable when you put it on.

Unfortunately, the way it works for me might not work the same for you. But it's definitely worth a try to find your perfect lip balm. And for me, this one is it.

All Terrain AquaSport SPF30 Oxybenzone-Free Natural Sunscreen

This is the reformulated All Terrain containing only 19%zinc oxide as the active sunscreen filter. I bought this to use on my son, who hates to sit still for sunscreen applications, especially cream formulas. Most spray-on sunscreen use some combination of chemical filters; the All Terrain is the only spray form zinc oxide based sunscreen I have found. I prefer to use zinc and/or titanium dioxide for sunscreen because they are not absorbed through my sons skin. Shake first to ensure the zinc is suspended in the liquid. This applies quickly, and while it does require spreading over the skin, the slippery smooth milky textured formula spreads fast and is very water resistant. (The only thing that could make it faster is if it was aerosol dispensed in a fine mist that did not need to be spread by hand over skin.) It is very slightly whitening at first, then settles on the skin to clear. It is somewhat shiny for the face, but great for body. Full ingredients below.

I ordered this sunscreen because it was rated as safe by the Environmental Working Group.When I received it, I was horrified to find that it contains 6% oxybenzoneAND octinoxate 7.2%.EWG lists both of these ingredients as hazardous.For some reason, these ingredients are not listed on the EWG web page, but they are listed as active ingredients on tube.If EWG knew of these ingredients, I don't think the sunscreen would receive the safe rating they give.

I also bought this product based upon the EWG rating and, having just received it today, was likewise horrified to find that it contains oxybenzone, vitamin A, as well as a litany of other ingredients which I was specifically trying to avoid, especially when paying a premium price.Obviously, they changed their formulation since EWG purchased theirs.There are better options, like Vanicream and Purple Prairie, which I also ordered.

I looked for a sunscreen that wasn't full of chemicals (the kind that react with skin to form the sun barrier) so that's why I tried this sunscreen.

Aquasport was just ok, not great, but not too bad either.It appears that it's a formulation with a sun block powder mixed with an oily substance.

You have to shake it a little to keep them together, but they do stay together while applying.

There's no white residue, which I liked.

What I didn't like was the look and feel of being oiled up. I looked greasy and it stayed that was for about an hour.I prefer a drier feel so I can put on my bathing suit and coverup sooner.

I burned at the beach, but only mildly.

Purchased this product at a brick-and-mortar store for a beach trip because it was the only non-chemical sunscreen on the shelf. It was completely ineffective. The consistency was thick and sticky, almost like glue, so it was extremely difficult to rub on/in properly. Once on, it provided virtually no sun protection, either in or out of the water, despite frequent re-application. Both my daughter and I burned, two days in a row. My only guess is that Banana Boat, not being experienced with natural sunscreens, must have developed a bad formulation--maybe not enough of the active ingredients? I would give it zero stars if Amazon allowed. Instead, I would recommend Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen, Sensitive SPF 30+, 5-Ounce (another titanium/zinc-based sunscreen that I have used and that works beautifully) or one of the other sunscreens rated highly by the Environmental Working Group--I wish that's what I had done.

Comodynes Self-Tanning Towelettes - 8 ea

I have very fair skin, and this product gave me a nice, natural looking tan and it is SO EASY to use! I would not recommend it for those with naturally dark tan skin, as the color may not show up well. It dries almost right away and there is no mess to it at all like lotions and foams. The color is even too, it does not appear darker on elbows and knees. My only complaints are it took longer than 3 hours for the color to show up on my skin and one towel isn't enough to cover the whole body. Other than that, I definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't like to tan the old-fashioned way!

I think that this is by far the best self-tanner I have ever used.Lotions are way too messy and hard to apply.They leave you streaky and most of them turn you orange.You have to be careful with lotions when applying over the knees and the elbows or else it will come out too dark and won't look natural.

You don't have to worry about ANY of that with these tanning towelettes.They are simple to use just rub over your entire body or any place that you want tan.You CAN use them on your face, just use common sense and don't put it on your eyes.

I find that I need two towelettes to cover my whole body, but at usually around $1.50 a towel, that isn't bad compared to tanning beds.One tanning session these days will run you $10-$15 plus you have to drive to the tanning salon.Plus the tanning lotions that you apply when using tanning beds that run you $20 and up per bottle.

When I first bought the towelettes I used one a day for the first 5 days to get my tan DARK.After that I would use two towelettes (to cover all of my body) every FOUR DAYS.$3.00 every four days is pretty cheap I think.That averages out to a little over $20 a month which is about the price of two tans if you are lucky.I don't know about you but I used to go tanning 3 times a week, you can imagine how much money and time you will save.

This way it is safe for your body and inexpensive.I would recommend using gloves or washing your hands extremely well after usage because it will turn your palms brown.That would be my only complaint.

I give it 5 stars and two thumbs up!

Gone are the days of the tanning salon as well as spending countless hours baking in the sun for me. I'm 30 and it's about time to wise up! I tried these the other night, and am very impressed. Although it def. takes more than one towel to do your whole body EVENLY that doesn't bother me. I'm pretty small/thin and it took 3 towels, the first time but I wanted to make sure I did every area as evenly as poss. Within hours, a nice color began to form, went to bed and woke up with a very nice base tan for Mem. Day weekend. Now, on my olive w/ yellow undertones skin first application was med./dark and noticeably TANNER. I did notice some streaking, but it was very faint, and only because I was not as thorough as I'd thought. So I went over just my arms and legs again, last night and am VERY pleased, this morning.The smell, compared to other self tanners, is minimal and tolerable and comes when the tan starts to develop, I did cover it up w/scented lotion when I went out I've used other GOOD brands and have been literally sickened and overwhelemed by the smell. And couldn't mask the stench to save my life! Won't ever use them again! This is no fuss clear towelscan do it and get dressed 10 min. later and go to bed.

The key with these towels, while they do roll up on you and can be difficult is PATIENCE. Take your time -cover each area as thoroughly as poss.I read a good tip here, when doing backs of hands, hold towel with a cloth or tissue over it to avoid the palms. And if I have to use more than one towel so be it! It saves me from frying in a tanning bed or spending long hours burning in the sun. Those things aren't safe and will make me look like a leather sofa, before too long. And that's no exaggeration. Air-brush tanning at a salon is a luxury and I will use it for special ocassions just so expensive.

So maybe this (Comodynes) tan isn't the exact tan you'd get at the beach I usually tan diff.in the sun nice deep, golden olive this towel give me more of a reddish tonedtan I don't care it looks real and doesn't look orange on me, at all I'm pleased and hooked for the summer!!

It's the best sunless tanning product I have found.

1. Does not come off on your clothes if you follow the directions. Dries fairly quickly.

2. Doesn't feel greasy or sticky like some others.

3. Looks natural.I have gotten lots of compliments. They think I have been to the tanning beds.

There are a few things that are a little bothersome.

1. You have to be careful putting it on. It can leave streaks.

2.Takes more towlettes than they say. One towlette for each leg and two more if you are going to cover your whole body.

3.You have to have someone else put it on your back to make sure you don't end up with streaks.

4.And you have to move quickly so the towelette doesn't dry out.

But overall it does what you want a sunless tanning product to do.

I love to wear my Dinair airbrush makeup, but hate that the only suscreen offered for any of the airbrush systems specifically, is a 1-2 ounce tube for (literally) $35!!!!!!The $35 oil free, waterbased sunscreen, is sold by Dinair. I have no clue if this Derma Topix sunscreen is waterbased. I have checked all of the other big airbrush companies I could think of with no luck (for any suggested or for sale with 30 spf or higher sunscreen). This stuff works great for me under both airbrush and reguar makeup. Never makes me break out, either!!!!

I really like this as it doesn't make me break out.Highly recommend for sensitive and acne prone skin.

Baby Blanket Sunscreen Stick, SPF 45, 0.7 Ounce Stick (Pack of 4)

I have used this sunscreen stick the last two summers for my four kids' faces.We live in the deep South and swim a lot so I feel really strongly about keeping their fair faces protected.This sunscreen stick got excellent (almost as good as you can get) ratings on the Environmental Working Group's webiste for its effectiveness and UVA protection.It got decent reviews in the health hazard category (yes, it does have some oxybenzone and parabens).BUT, it is far more affordable than any of the other zinc oxide sunscreen sticks and it's far more durable in the water.It will make your face whitish (that is the zinc oxide...considered by most to be the BEST sunscreen ingredient), but it fades with time, particularly when you're swimming.My boys don't seem to really care about it, and they just laugh about looking "zombie-like" for the first little bit.At least I know their faces are protected.

It works perfectly! I normally use other sunscreen for my kids bodies and then use this for their faces. It does not run, no rick of getting into their eyes or being uncomfortable. It is not oily or difficult to work with. Just rub it on and then rub it in so their faces aren't white. Great stick!

2011 Devoted Creations Must Have Blemish Free Premium Tanning Lotion 8.5 oz.

I've been looking for a decent priced but high quality lotion for years now since they discontinued what I normally had used. I hate tanning. Its hot and you leave with a certain scent on you. With this lotion, you get dark fast and smell good. You don't have to rush home to shower after tanning. Can't beat the price and who doesn't love skin firming along with the other benefits of this lotion.

This product was recommended to me by a trusted tanning salon owner about a week ago. I have never tanned in my life outdoors or indoors and my family is of scotch-irish decent, so, aside from the blue / green eyes, I'm what they call a type 1 and 2 skin type (very fair skinned, hard to tan). I wanted to try tanning in a salon since I'm always getting burned outdoors in the summer, even with sunscreen. She recommended this lotion (because it is DHA free, thus it won't turn my porcelain skin orange like a lotion with DHA in it would do). Well, I have to say that I really love it! It smells pretty good and it goes on nicely. I've had three tanning sessions (1 at 7 mins and 2 at 10 mins)and I am noticeably darker (I'd say at least two shades darker). The lotion doesn't leave me with a greasy feeling and it really moisturizes my skin. I strongly suggest this lotion as a starter lotion for anyone who is fair skinned and wants to obtain a gradual tan. The price is a little steep if you purchase at a salon, but, as I have found, I can get it much cheaper online!

Ive spray tanned in a salon before, this machine is good for personal use. However, expect about 30 minutes minimum to do your own tan. Id reccommend if you dont get the spray on straight to take lotion and buy some gloves so you can rub it all in and make it even. I feel like you have to do more work than needed and it takes a while for tan to set in.I feel this was an okay purchase but i was not impressed too much. If i had to buy again id do a little more research. But for 100$ compared to other prices this one you get what you pay for.
