now i work at a tanning salon so i have tried almost every lotion on the market. at first glance i wouldnt have given this lotion the light of day because of its low price point, but upon winning it at a tanning seminar i was like what the heck might as well give it a shot. the first time i used this lotion i was not only amazed by the light, non-greasy, quick absorbing(im a guy)feel of this lotion but the smell wasn't overwhelming either, to top it off after my tan i had never in my life looked brown immediately after a tan its usually a kinda reddish orange i achieve, but not with this lotion, it was sheer perfection. So in conclusion i would absolutely recommend this lotion to anyone with a base tan.

I have ultra-sensitive skin. I don't tan, I burn. Then I get extreme reactions like sun rash, which are itchy red bumps that appear hours after sun exposure.When I was in Florida in the 70's, I found products for preventing sun-burn, and then for soothing skin and actually promoting healthy tan skin. These were called FASHION TAN, and AFTER TAN. This is a great moisturizer--the best I've ever used. Really helps to even out skin tone. Non-greasy.

One ongoing gripe: the pump only works sometimes. Other times, you have to slam your hand down on it to get the product out--and, as one would expect, the moisturizer then shoots out in a rush, some of it going on your walls requiring clean-up and also going wasted.

It's the worse-packaged product I've ever used--but it says something about the quality of the product itself that I'm nonetheless continuing to purchase it.

I used this morning cream along with their night cream.

problem:

I'm a 65 yo male that has always had a ruddy complexion. I wore a cervical neck collar for about 6 years, plus losing about 100 pounds about 2 years ago. My neck was an over abundance of loose saggy skin.

I used both the day and night creams. I just wiped it on w/o paying much attention to how I did it.

RESULT after 1 month:

Nearly all that saggy neck skin tightened. It unbelievable.

In my late twenties, I tried just about every moisturizer I could find including rarified ingredient boutique lotions but my skin remained dry, hot, itchy, flaky, and I was seeing laugh lines around my eyes.I was about to give up hope until my mother, who likes to shop at dollar stores, came to visit and bought me this at the full $20 price.I have been using Oil of Olay Total Effects ever since.I am hesitant to even try the regenerist because I like this so well.On the occasions I do try other lotions, they never measure up.

My skin thanked me after the first application.After a few days, it looked better, was less red, less chapped.Within a month or two (or less, I don't remember after 7 years) I had no lines near my eyes, my skin feels soft and comfortable unless I abuse it.When I abuse it, this lotion makes it feel better.People consistently guess my age to be 5-8 years younger than I am even though I have grey hair.While they swear it's not because of the immaturity, it's either that or OoO T.E. lotion.

I almost never need more than a tiny amount the size of a pencil eraser to cover my face, neck and hands. (Keep the cap or it dries out.) I use this UV version in the morning and a non-UV version at night.I recommend it to anyone looking for a facial moisturizer that works as good or better than advertised.Absolutely worth the money.

2012 update: Still using this product and still highly recommend it, but sometimes switch it up with the Regenerist (comes in a similar container but squirts out the top) which I can now also recommend.Just had several people my age (near 40 now, when did that happen?), and the lady doing my facial tell me that I have wonderful, young looking skin and again guess that I'm years younger than I am.I have minimal wrinkling and my skin feels good.I don't have a problem using either product near my eyes. I do have some coloration problems after a tanning situationthe Regenerist may be slightly better for coloration issues, but I can't say for sure. I get an even silkier feel to my skin from the Regenerist.Don't forget to moisturize your neck and hands, everyone!

Like any woman, I scrutinize my face on a regular basis and when I began to notice laugh lines and small, long creases in my forehead at just 29 years of age, I freaked a little.Then I began shopping around for a good anti-aging moisturizer.Knowing how much I love Olay moisturizer (I've been using their original beauty fluid since I was 16) and how gentle it's been on my skin, I decided to see what they had to offer and came across the Olay Total Effects 7-In-1 Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 15.Deciding to give it a try, I bought it on May 21st and was eager to add it to my regime the moment it arrived on my doorstep.

This particular moisturizer in Olay's vast line of products is purported to do the following:

1) Minimize the appearance of fine lines

2) Nourish the skin with rich moisturization

3) Enhance and even out skin tone

4) Gently exfoliate

5) Minimize and refine pores

6) Defense against free radicals

7) Subtle "lifting" of the skin for a more youthful appearance

It claims to do all this with sunscreen (to prevent the aging effects of UV damage), vitamins (B3, B5 and E, which all hydrate and improve circulation) and anti-oxidants.

Upon my first application, I noticed that it wasn't as light as the original beauty fluid, that it in fact felt thicker, almost like the consistency of your basic sunscreen (it even smells like one).However, I chose to look past this, as it is a different product with different intended effects.

What I couldn't look past was a light dermatitic rash over almost all of my face just a few days into a once-daily application.I immediately ceased use of this product today after reading the warning label (which specifically said to discontinue use if signs of a rash or irritation appear) and I'm disappointed that I have to surrender the entire bottle to my trash can (it's like throwing away money it's a little painful).

Knowing my personal history and the fact that I have slightly sensitive skin, I speculated whether this rash could possibly be due to the combination of sunscreen agents in the product (4% octisalate, 2% avobenzone, 1% ensulizole, 1% octocrylene, all of which can cause rashes in some people).I have used one other Olay product with sunscreen in it (Olay Complete UV Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 15) and did not have a reaction so it's hard to pinpoint the cause even when looking at the complete ingredient list of this moisturizer on their website (www.olay.com). Due to this unfortunate adverse side effect, I am unable to say whether or not this moisturizer's anti-aging properties are effective.

I shall let this product review serve as a cautionary tale to people with sensitive skin that the Olay Total Effects line may not be the right choice for them.It certainly wasn't for me.

I bought these for my hairdresser to use on me.They are exactly as pictured.I recommend removing the tips, or at least really cutting them short.The only problem is that since these are real hair and have been extensively treated they are liable to fritz and tangle.They are VERY straight, my hair has a slight wave and the difference is noticeable in my barely neck length hair. I don't blow dry or do much prepping of my hair but I imagine a curler would work.

The only problem is that I only used 3 strands, so I either go pink for a year or waste some money.

Aloe Gator Lil' SPF 40 Lotion for Kids

I love Aloe Gator. I go out of my way to order it, and will use nothing else. Their original formula literally only needs a single application a day for all-day coverage. My husband and I have very fair skin, and so do our children, and we put the original formula on in the morning and would spend a whole day on the beach in Mexico, and never had an issue (cloudless sky, no less), seriously, the stuff is amazing.

I was so excited when I saw there was a kid formula! YAY!

This is awful. Totally awful.

Kids were burned the first day.

We used the original formula for a week, and tried this again. We REAPPLIED the kids formula three times, and the boys STILL burned.

This is not what I have come to expect from such a great company.

Is this a good sunblock? Maybe. But it is not the quality I have come to expect from Aloe Gator.

I have been using this product for years and found it to be the best on the market.I apply it 30 minutes before going outside and I never have to reapply the rest of the day!Even when I am in the water it stays on.Even with the SPF 40 protection you still tan.Love this product!

L'oreal LOreal Hair Expertise LOreal Everstrong Reconstruct Hair Conditioner Rosemary Mint

This is a wonderful product. I used to use L'Oreal's top-of-the-line product, Kerastase (Bain de Force shampoo, and Lait Vital conditioner). Also an amazing product, but at $38 for an 8 oz bottle, it got pretty expensive. I've tried a few different products, but have always gone back to Kerastase. It's the best. Or so I thought.

I freely admit, it was the advertizing for L'Oreal Everstrong that drew me in. I tried the Everstrong Bodify shampoo in combination with the Everstrong Reconstruct conditioner. AMAZING. My hair smelled wonderful (similar to Aveda), but more importantly, it continues to be soft, shiny, and healthy looking after several months of use. I won't say it's BETTER than Kerastase, but I will say that it's every bit as good. And for the price, you can't get any better.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the l'oreal everstrong line! I am a frequent bleacher and have very thick hair; this product does wonders! I have tried countless products, masks, and treatments to try to get my hair back to that 'virgin' feel before I started bleaching. Because of this reason, I have avoided blow drying, flat ironing, and curling my hair. When I first saw this I noticed that it was sulfur-free (which I always try to stick to) and that it was very affordable! I tried out the Reconstruct shampoo and conditioner and my hair loves it! The smell is very different (not your usual fruity smell), but it's not very strong and , in my opinion, smells great. After the first wash I could tell a difference. My hair was softer, less tangled, more manageable, and my ends seemed less brittle and more healthy. I also noticed a lot less shedding. I generally tend to use a LOT of shampoo and conditioner, to make sure my hair is fully covered and that there's enough conditioner to set in my hair. A WORD TO THE WISE: a little of this product goes a long way; especially with the conditioner. I quickly learned to use the conditioner very sparingly only on the ends of my hair. If you use a lot, especially on the roots, your hair will be weighed down and appear more oily more quickly. Use sparingly, and the results will be amazing. Definitely stuck to this product.

Caribbean Solutions SPF 25 Biodegradable Sunscreen 6 Ounces

Definately takes a little more "rubbing" to apply without showing compared to traditional sunscreens, but worth the environmental benefits. Did not feel oily/greasy, pleasant/subtle scent, and protected the whole family from sunburn. Of course with any sunscreen, reapplying often was necessary while sunning near the equator.

I was going snorkelling in reefs in the Carribbean and I wanted to make sure I didn't harm the delicate ecosystems. I had read reviews for many of the biodegradable sunscreens on the market and feared the types that wouldn't rub in fully or wouldn't work. While this one was harder to rub in than regular sunscreen, it still was possible after a little more effort (I think that's pretty much par for the course with a natural product). My pale pale white skin also did not suffer any sunburn so I'm happy with how it worked.

Also, the directions say you need to reapply every 45 minutes to an hour, regardless of whether you have been in the water or not. My husband and I both got burned the first days of our vacation because we figured it was like other sunscreen and effective for a few hours if not in the water. I know that's our fault for not reading the directions, but to put it on every 45 minutes when you are spending a day at the beach?

I understand the importance of protecting the environment, which is why we bought it... but I hope someone has a better biodegradable product out there because I don't see buying this one again.

I purchased this sunscreen to go snorkeling on the reef in Mexico and I must say, everyone there was very much concerened about what type of sunscreen people use! So I was ready with my biodegradable Caribbean Solution, and you know what? It works well, it does take a little extra effort to rub in, but apply in small amounts and you won't have any trouble, you do look a little extra pale after applying, but the protection is great!Just remember to re-apply, and re-apply whenever possible!I barely burned, my fault for NOT reapplying, after snokeling for a whole day!The sunscreen, if used correctly works well, smells pleasant and is better for the ocean!I highly recommend and will certainly use/buy again!Great product!And please remember that 4,000 to 6,000 tons of sunblock residue end up in reef-adjacent waters annually, killing coral!So spend the extra few bucks, look a teeny bit pale after applying and save the reefs for me to enjoy next year!Yeah I know soap box!

California Tan Oasis Bronzer Step 2 8 Oz

I've had several comments on how good this product smells just wish theyd package it in a tube or something.Bought two of these step 1 & step 2.On one, the plunger never worked and I had to keep switching it out between the two bottles.When it stopped working and was presumably empty, out of curiosity, I cut them open to find almost 1/4 of the bottle was still full it was such that the fill tube for the plunger just wasn't in the right spot to suck up the rest of the lotion.

I've been using Olay UV Defense which is 6% Zinc Oxide and they cost $12 for 2.5 oz. So I switched to this which is 6.4% zinc oxide. I use it every day on my face, neck, and hands before I go to work. It goes on before my make-up, and does not look whitish at all. I'm very happy with this product and will keep buying it. The word "natural"should not be anywhere in the title or description of this product. Just because they threw some zinc oxide in there and want to brag about it, that doesn't suddenly make the slew of chemicals accompanying it "natural." Looks to me like they threw in the zinc oxide just to mislead customers into thinking it was a more natural alternative. Wrong. It contains oxybenzone AND parabens both chemicals shown in studies to aid cancer development. How about a little truth in advertising here, please? Thanks.

What good is protecting your skin from sun-caused-cancer only to get chemically-caused-cancer? Last I checked, both are fatal.

I have both La Roche extremely fluid for face and for body, and love them both (See my review on those). But the face fluid was inadequate to protect my lips for my 5 hr bike rides.

Before I bought this one, I read a negative review about its nasty flavor/taste. I was a bit hesitant, but I was glad that I went ahead anyway.

The lipstick does NOT have any off taste/smell. On the contrary, its smell is quite pleasant and neutral. I had it on when I had my food, and it didn't give any particular taste either. It protects my lips against the sun very well, no more painful burns or chips.

P.S. when you buy La Roche sunscreens, it is important to buy Anthelios XL line. It gives full protection against both UVA and UVB.

I was a little disappointed when I received this product because the main reason for my shopping was the easy way to use it as in display in the picture, specially when I am driving. Unfortunately, the one I got was the one that is shaped like a regular lipstick.

I've been using La Roche Posay lip stick for a while and it is a very good product. The company changed the stick and made it a little smaller than it used to be. Nevertheless, if you go under the sun, the lips are a very sensitive area that need to be well protected to avoid early aging or fever blister. The stick is perfect for that and have a great feel on the lips and a nice small odor. I recommand it strongly.

This is the best lip sunscreen I have ever used. Most lip sunscreens chap my lips really bad or they still get burned. This one moisturized really well and saved my lips from getting burned in the hot Cabo sun. I will never use another brand. I highly recommend to those with sensitive lips.

This lotion is very good for youbecause it contains physical spf which stays on top of your skin as opposed to the ones that get absorbed into your skin. When applied you feel like you are covered in grease. That's why it stays on after being in water for a long time (this only thing I like about it) and it is difficult to wash off. I cannot imagine wearing this sunscreen every day. I had been using Devita sunscreens before and will buy them again instead because they are also all natural, clear, contain non-nano zinc but they disappear on your skin.

I'm the fretting worrying kind of new mom (aren't we all...) and I was worried about taking my 4 month old out into the sun without any protection. It just isn't realistic to keep a baby indoors until they are 6 months old. After a lot of research, this sunscreen seemed the most gentle and natural. I applied this before taking the baby with me to the farmers market, and it worked great! No tan lines, no skin reactions.

Its pretty thick, and a little greasy, but it does go on clear and is moisturizing, baby didn't mind it at all. We used it the following weekend when we took her swimming for the first time. It was very water resistant and easy to reapply. I never saw it run or get into her eyes, she had a lot of fun in the pool.

We will continue to use this, great product.

This is a pretty good product.Still, I don't think I will buy it again unless they do something about the packaging.The bottle is the worst idea ever.The sunscreen isn't runny enough to use the hard plastic bottle the sunscreen comes in.After it's about a quarter used, it becomes nearly impossible to squeeze anything out of the bottle.I had to constantly uncap the bottle and dig my finger in the bottle to get anything out.When it is near the end, I can see no option but to cut through the thick plastic and scrape out what's left into a different container.What a pain.There's absolutely no common sense put into the bottle make and design.I wish the manufacturer would use the same kind of tube that you see all other sunscreens use.MUCH more practical that way!
