Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 60, 3 Ounces

I've used this sunscreen for a few years now, and here are my thoughts. Note, I am an early 30's man with fair caucasian skin.

1) This sunscreen provides full-spectrum coverage, both UVA and UVB protection. It's a bit in-depth to go into here, but needless to say, this is very important for the health and wellbeing of your skin in the long run.

2) Unlike most mass-market drugstore sunscreens, this is a physical sunscreen. That means it relies on titanium dioxide and zinc oxide to physically reflect damaging rays. This compares to the chemical sunscreens (avobenzone) found in most full-spectrum drugstore sunscreens which absorb the rays.

3) I tend to be highly allergic to chemical sunscreens.

4) Most physical sunscreens are glopy, white and poorly formulated. Think the noses of 50's lifeguards. This product is quite the opposite: It blends nicely and doesn't feel "thick" on the skin. Even with combination or oily skin, it does not shine or slick at any point during the day.

5) If you are allergic to physical sunscreens, this is a wonderful solution.

6) If you have scruff, or don't shave, this is not a good option. It will get into the beard and cause a white cast.

7) If you use too much of this sunscreen, your skin will have a white cast.

8) Having very sensitive skin, I have had no allergic reaction to this product. That said, my allergies tend to be connected to the chemical sunscreens, and not the stabilizing ingredients. It's very possible that other user's complaints are related to non-sunscreen related sensitivities.

9) I can't recommend this sunscreen enough. It is by far the best drugstore physical sunscreen on the market.

This lotion does not contain active ingredients other than Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide.

It's consistency and residue on the skin after application is really very similar to the other Neutrogena Sunblock Lotions, and for all the fear that this would leave one looking like a Zinc-faced rugby player, it's actually not very much different at all than a regular sunblock.

Maybe there's a very slight whitening effect, but the regular Neutrogena products can do that as well.

If you have allergies to the active ingredients on other products, or problems with getting them in your eyes, then give this one a try!

i have a bad oily skin when i used this without a primer, it worked like a charm. I'm impressed that my eyelid didn't turn to oil pans! but when i applied a primer, my face didn't get oily but my eyes lid were back to the oil pans.

First off, a few notes on usage.We use this on arms, legs, fronts and backs.It's ease of application assures we don't miss spots that rub on creams often do.We still like to actually rub it on to the skin though as it's easy for it to accumulate on the surface or on body hair, and rubbing it in after spraying assures an even application.Also, don't use this on the face or in poorly ventilated areas,you probably don't want to inhale all the organic compounds in this or any other sunscreen.Finally, this sunscreen has oxybenzone in it which can cause skin sensitivity in some folks.(There are other concerns about this class of organics for sunscreen use, but they are generally significantly safer that sunburns and skin cancers.)So in the end, this product doesn't preclude cream based sunscreens, especially for the face, but application is a lot more complete and easier for the trunk and limbs.

Results with this sunscreen have been great for us.When applied evenly (and reapplied every two to three hours when in the sun) we have not gotten burned once.It has no unpleasant odors and isn't greasy once it has dried, which takes about two minutes in our dry climate.We buy it in bulk from amazon and save a lot over the drugstore prices. We always keep a can on hand for outside activities.

I ended up purchasing this for my niece out of fear that regular sunblock would clog her pores and I'm rather pleased with this. (I got this on the last day of her visit with us even though the previous sunblock showed no signs of messing with her skin.) This didn't have much of a scent that I could detect, which will probably be a selling point for some. I like a little scent with my sunscreen, but whatever scent this had ended up fading away rather quickly. The spray bottle makes it easy to apply, which was nice. I fell in love with spray bottles after using another sunblock product, so that this came in spray bottle form was a big factor for me.

As far as sunblock goes, it did its job for the most part. I was out in direct sun in very hot and humid weather, so I ended up applying it more than I might have otherwise done. I ended up with no sunburn, nor did any of my other family members. All of us applied this to our faces, with none of us having any new acne appear. (So if you're wondering if you could use this on your face in a pinch, you can.)

Please do not use this sunblock if your skin is even remotely sensitive.I purchased this because Neutrogena products typically work well on my somewhat sensitive skin.I put this on and within one hour had a horrible rash all over my face, neck, and chest. I have never experienced anything so awful.I stopped using it and (2 days later) the rash is still pretty bad.

I really love Frankly Scarlet! It's a great introduction into a tingle lotion. I would suggest having a base tan before you start to use it. The tingle is hot, but not too hot. You get a nice red color for about 3 hours and then it turns into a wonderful bronze color. I also bought Risque at the same and I like Frankly Scarlet much better.

This lotion is amazing! I bought it at my local tanning salon for over $50 but will buy from amazon from now on. I like a HOT tingle lotion and this one does not disappoint. It gets a good flush going for a few hours, and fades into an awesome bronze. I wouldn't recommend to anyone with sensitive skin, though.

I have been using Bombshell by Designer Skin. But I haven't been experiencing tingle at all.. It's an older lotion. I know this is the reason it's not effective anymore. I wouldn't recommend anyone buying an older lotion with tingle. It's likely that you'll have my experience. But if it's an older lotion with "bronzers" I haven't had any problems with using them. I still recommend buying lotions from our current year of 2011. But with my useless purchase of buying Bombshell; I received this lotion as sample lotion. I wish I would have ordered this lotion in replace of Bombshell! I didn't find the tingle to be overwhelming. But this tingle is a little HOT.I wouldn't recommend for those with NO base tan. I didn't enjoy the smell much.. I can't even describe that smell. But it wasn't unbearable. You will get "red" from this lotion. That just means it's doing it's job. Would I buy this? Definitely.

Clear Zinc goes on much more clear than many other such sunscreens I have tried (e.g., Blue Lizard). Protection is outstanding. Bought this after reading many recs to use zinc containing sunscreen. I was tired of the white 'Casper' look with other brands I've tried. I have found that sunscreen with both zinc and titanium will not rub in clear. While that offers the best protection it gets irritating since I'm pretty white as it is. This does contain oxybenzene which is thought to be something to stay away from but is the active ingredient in almost all store bought sunscreens. I think this is what makes it rub on clear which it does very well. I spent a week in the Caymans and used this only twice a day. It stayed on a very long time and I for once never got burnt!After returning from my trip I bought 4 more to stock up for the summer. Also bought the no tear version for kids. Easier to rub in and doesn't sting kids eyes as stated.

Sunbrushed Tanning Kit

This is a messy, expensive product that yields very temporary results.The application "gloves" rip easily and the tanning product itself stains everything-palms of your hands, countertops, sheets, etc.The tan itself looks good.But it only lasts 2 days.Proceed with caution, kids.

The Sunbrushed Tanning Kit arrived with a little leak due to the design of the jar. It's a very thin liquid and has to be shaken before use, so the solution collects in the lid and leaks out. It makes a mess when you open it, so make sure you open it over a bowl.

Also, I recommend using tight-fitting latex/rubber gloves rather than the loose plastic gloves it comes with. The liquid collects in the folds of the gloves and flips everywhere. With tight gloves, you could use the cloth to wipe off the gloves before applying the solution. Believe me, it's hard to get these stains out.

One more recommendation--fold the cloth so that the seams are rolled up inside. The liquid collects in the seams even after squeezing it out, and creates streaks and drips.

The tan itself is a nice, natural, even color that has so far lasted almost a week. I recommend Sunbrushed for the quality of the tan, but I'd like to see a more functional design so that it's easier to apply and less messy.

I have tried every self tanner out there and this one has one of the most natural looking colors. At first I thought it was going to be hard to put on with the towel. It was a bit messy the first time but then I got the hang of it. The only thing I didn't like was that everytime you tan you have to pour the whole canister in a bowl and soak allot of the tanner up in the towel...it was waseful of the liquid and didn't last too long. Great color but fades pretty quick.

This is currently my top pick for sunless tanning.It has sort of a green undertone, so I guess when you mix that with the natural orange in all self tanners, you get a deliciously natural brown.It's seriously the best brown I have ever gotten with any sunless tanner.You apply it with a wash cloth that has been soaked in the product and then wrung out.Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.The washcloth makes it easy to get your back, because you just hang it back there and pull it up.You ALWAYS must wear gloves.And then one at a time, you wipe the back of each hand.Because it has a bronzer in it, you can see your mistakes and rub them in right away.The most common mistake areas with this are around your arm pits.

Because you control it with the cloth, you can do your feet really easily with no mess up.

It make take a couple of practices, but I like it.If I could find something that offered the same color, I'd try it.If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to hear.

Moisturizing Face Screen, SPF 30, Light Tint

I have used Creme de Soleil for quite a while and I love it so I decided to try the Creme de Jour on my kids(it is less expensive and my kids do not need a screen with anti-aging ingredients!). My teenage daughter is breaking out and all of the other screens that we tried cloged her pores. I talked to the people at Marie Veronique Organics and they explained that the waxes in most screens clog pores. I think that they are right...this is the first screen that she is willing to use. It is not greasy and she likes how the tinted makes her skin look. I put the non tinted on my younger kids because it is the only screen that I can find that is made without harmful chemicals or nanoparticles.

I have always been on the lookout for a really good sunscreen. I've never stuck to one brand until I found this one. I had ordered the tinted version of her sunscreen and I was leery at first when I received the product because it was a grayish liquid and I am an asian with yellowish undertones. I thought it would make me look like a ghost, but after applying it I was surprised that it disappeared into the skin and looked natural. Its really hard to use...

1.Very drying (ironic it says moisturizing), u have to put on an oil based moisturizer before you try to put this on. I've also try the anti aging oil sample that was included, and its even worse, even more drying on your skin.

2.Hard to smooth out..it dries out pretty quickly so you have to try to smooth it out pretty quickly otherwise it leaves streaks n clumps.

3. It says light tint...but its looks more like a medium tint.

4. It rubs off too easily even though I'm not sweating...so reapplication is really needed.

It smell nice and it feels sort of cooling on the skin...but its so damn hard to use,esp in the summer this thing would be so ineffective.because it rubs off too easily...

Disappointing since i read all this glowing reviews.

My search for the effective n easy to use mineral sunscreen continues...
