I just started getting interested on putting on make-up now I'm a semi-pro in my own way. I use Phillips milk of magnesia from Walgreens as my primer. Works better than any primer i have ever used. Apply it to cotton ball like u want to clean your face and then use a face brush to apply this foundation and it goes in flawlessly. I got a lot of compliments on my make up. Try it!

Olay Definity Neck and Chest Daily Restoration Treatment, 1.7 Ounce

()I'm in my 50's and though I've slathered on the sunscreen while at the beach, it seems like the decolletage always gets too much sun leading to sun damage.After just a few days using Olay Definity Neck & Chest I've noticed an improvement!What I particularly love is the way this cream disappears into the skin, leaving it soft and smooth, not sticky. Other creams and lotions make me feel sweaty & greasy and clog pores, but not Olay Definity.I also like the fact that it's odorless and doesn't interfere with my perfume.The skin on my chest and neck area seems to be more supple and maybe (wishful thinking?) a little younger looking.Yes, it could have SPF, but that might take away from the satiny feel.Too early to tell about the long term benefits, but I would buy this product based on how great it makes my skin feel.I will recommend it to my friends and skin care professional.

Note 8/23/09:After several weeks using this product, my chest began to break out badly. My skincare professional believes that the product contains silicone derivatives (note anything in the ingredients ending in "-one" and there are several) which make the product silky, but will also clog pores.I've discontinued use and have had no more problems.Wish I could change the number of stars on my review, but Amazon won't let me.

()Years ago I was a sales rep for cosmetical ingredients. Meaning that I worked with major companies to bid on what was in their products to sell them and learned many things about them. I worked for no cosmetic company butsold the ingredients they needed to them from a broker who supplied them in large quantities.

Some things are fairly interesting...like the companies who put an inert and non-working ingredient into their products that tingle because we equate "tingling" with doing something. Or those who use cheaper ingredients that are mostly fillers. Or water as the first and primary ingredient. I learned much.

At that time I was always impressed with Olay as a company because, not only did they always seem to purchase quality ingredients and not use fillers as their main ingredients, but their cosmetic scientists seemed to always put whatever was the newest research into the products before others did and at a better price. Therefore, I've been using Olay for years but had never heard of this.

COMPANY INFO & CREDIBILITY:

As a consumer, I just turned 43. That changes everything, doesn't it? Unfortunately! The changes are...in my own aging. And that makes anti-aging products even more important. Because I still read up on what's out there in the market even though I no longer work in that field, I already knew the original facial Olay Regenerist and the Olay ProX actually did show better results in not only their own tests but many independant ones as well...even ones on the Today show that showed the changes in facial lines measured and photographed for a few weeks on the more expensive lotions and Olay.Google it for info. I'm sure it's all still floating around on the 'net.

I don't remember all lotions it was up against but I do know it beat out La Prarie's $650 moisturizer because we worked with them.

Okay, so knowing all that, and being a big fan of their face lotions, I was interested in trying out a neck and chest cream. To be honest, I put face cream on my neck already but if something is better suited, I'm game.

NEED FOR PRODUCT:

First, smart idea I think. We concentrate so much on our facial lines and moisturization and forget you can tell any woman's true age by her neck...even for actresses in Hollywood, a facelift doesnt' touch the neck wrinkles, right?:-)Always telling!! I would like to know more about why this is targeted to JUST the neck and chest and how it's different from facial procusts though.

WRINKLES:

It's hard for me to tell a major difference because I didn't apply this to just one side of my neck. I do have wrinkles on my neck (none on my chest) and I THINK there is some softening of these but the most dramatic difference I've seen is from the evening of skin tone and softness created by the product. I do think there was some softening of fine lines but that's a bit more scientific of a test than I can truly do on my own with the naked eye at this point.

EVENING OF SKIN TONE:

Yowza, it has started to ERASE age spots on my chest. Uneven skin tone comes with growin' old...I kinda want to use it on my face and see if it provides the same evening of skin tone. I've only been using this a few weeks and already seen this difference so, to me, this is a huge hit in advancements for those my age.

SKIN SENSITIVIY:

I have VERY sensitive skin. So much so that I refuse antibiotics because they make me break out like I'm going through a second puberty. I actually cannot wear LOTS of brands of lotions and sunscreens because of the sensitivity of my pores. However, I held my breath to see any ill effects...none at all. No breakouts or irritations.

PACKAGING: Too often facial and body products, even including some from Olay, require you to dip your finger into the product. I'm not a fan of this and avoid them. This causes bacterial spread from anything on your finger as they are never sterile. They can grow and contaminate products. So I love the pump the treatment comes in...pumps out just the right amount the FIRST time you pump it so you dont have to keep pumping...and prevents bacterial breakouts. Beautiful bottle with a swirl of both parts of the ingredients that combine together when you pump.

SCENT:

It's unscented. This is good...I have had a few Olay products that were way TOO scented florally and I like this new move they seem to, hopefully, be making in leaving them scent free. At least as far as the last few things I've tried. I hope it's a permanent move on their part as I hate to have my perfume compete. Just smells fresh and unscented.

FEEL:

smooth, easily rubbed in, not oily at all.

NEGATIVES: As no product is perfect, I don't like to leave any review without uncovering negatives. Although I am very happy with all aspects of the product I do agree with other reviewers who stated I want more info as to what I can fully expect to see with long-term use. Better labeling. Because this formula doesn't seem to be widely available yet, I would expect that this might very well be added to the product during the full launch?If not it should be.

CONCLUSION: I do feel that I will add this to my daily regimin of skin care and will probably also try it on my face for a few weeks since I liked the results on my neck and chest as it seems to be a good match for sensitive skin. Our neck and chest can often be forgotten in skincare and yet we show aging there often more quickly than our faces.

()First let me say that when the newsletter came out, this was the only product I could order... so I did. I then gave it to a good friend who has her own business for women, doing intensive beauty treatments. She readily agreed to evaluate this and it took her 8 weeks to do a full evaluation.

That said, she said that it does work... for a few hours. She added that it felt like a masque when it was on, washed off easily and the effects disappeared when it was washed off. At the end of 8 weeks there was no difference. She also stated it left a waxy feeling on her skin.

So there is the opinion of this product from someone way more qualified than me to give their opinion on it.

()I've used Olay Definity Neck & Chest Daily Restoration Treatment at night for a couple of weeks, and it doesn't seem to do much of anything, except make my neck and chest feel like they've been powdered.The directions/product information are not very specific, so I am uncertain how to use this product, and what it is supposed to do.This product has a faint chemical smell which I find pretty objectionable (rare for an Olay product).It clogs pores, as well, which is not a problem I have had on my neck and chest with other moisturizers.

I've used the St. Tropez line for years but had never used the remover-WOW this stuff is great. I apply the self-tanner with my hands, wash with this and it leaves not even a spec of brown on my palms! I bought this hoping to be able to rub tanner on with my bare hands then put this on a cotton ball and wipe off the tanner from my palms but it's not that easy. It has exfoliating grains in it and takes a bit of scrubbing to get the tanner off. It does get it off though, so it works, but it wasn't as easy as I hoped. It smells kinda chemically too.

UPDATE:I recently purchased a bottle of Show Girl from Glamour Tanning Inc. & I'm now convinced it wasn't authentic.I had used Show Girl lotion that I purchased at the salon & always had wonderful results.I thought I'd save a few bucks by buying a bottle on Amazon but I was really disappointed.I didn't get the same color as before & the consistency was also different.Last week I bought another bottle at the salon & I am now certain Glamour Tanning ripped me off.I guess it's easy enough to just put any lotion in a designer bottle & deceive the customer.Shame on you!Bottom line...the lotion purchased at the salon works great so pay the few extra dollars & get yourself the real deal.Stay away from GLAMOUR TANNING INC!

I purchased my bottle of Show Girl at the salon so I cannot comment on the seller.As far as the lotion goes I think it's one of the best I've used so far.It has these little beads in it that really make my skin super soft.One of my favorite things about this particular lotion is the smell.It starts off smelling great & still smells great after tanning!I don't feel gross & stinky after I leave the salon!I always end up with a nice brown color, not orangy at all.Even though this lotion is white in the bottle it still has a great bronzer in it!

I'm an experienced tanner...and this lotion is one that I will buy again. I bought it based on the reviews and I'm glad I did. I only tan about 3 times a week now and I can tell a difference each and every time I tan. This lotion smells good and continues to smell good, even after tanning. It has little beads in the lotion that moisturize also. A little bit goes a long way. It's a really good value for the money!

This is a great moisturizer--the best I've ever used. Really helps to even out skin tone. Non-greasy.

One ongoing gripe: the pump only works sometimes. Other times, you have to slam your hand down on it to get the product out--and, as one would expect, the moisturizer then shoots out in a rush, some of it going on your walls requiring clean-up and also going wasted.

It's the worse-packaged product I've ever used--but it says something about the quality of the product itself that I'm nonetheless continuing to purchase it.

Ultra Light Facial Moisturizer - SPF30

I have been looking for a non-chemical SPF combined with face moisturizer for a long time. I live in sunny southern California. This product is great for those with sensitive skin or those allergic to chemical based sunscreens. Most companies only have face moisturizer w/ SPF that contains chemical suncreen but I am allergic to those chemical ingredients which causes me to have a face rash. The Kimberly Sayer moisturizer plus SPF is a great find. It doesn't contain any chemical suncreen ingredients, only physical blockers and I don't need to put on separate moisturizer. I've been using it every day since I got it. My skin is naturally oily and it has not caused any pimples and it keeps my skin feeling less oily. Usually non-chemical sunblocks make your face white because of the titanium dioxide (I've tried the neutrogena sensitive skin sunblock and it is very hard to blend in, still see whitish color on face) but the Kimberly Sayer product goes on smoothly without any whitish color. You get a huge size bottle and only need to use a little bit to get full face coverage so it is definitely worth the money. I will definitely buy again, please don't ever stop making this product. I will also look into other products made by Kimberly Sayer because I like this product so much. I've tried Juice Beauty's Mineral Moisturizer with SPF which also has non-chemical sunblock but found it to be more oily on my skin, although it was good in that it didn't cause whitish tinge either, but it was more expensive for the number of ounces that you got.

I bought this after seeing it recommended in a magazine.I live in sunny California, have very light skin, and work outside so I need a high SPF cream to use everyday.I was drawn to this because it uses organic ingredients, has no parabens and uses titanium and zinc oxide for the sunblock protection.I'm also acne prone.My husband and I use this every morning and a bottle lasts us @ 4 months.It doesn't cause any breakouts and absorbs quickly so I can apply makeup soon afterward.Best cream for the money in my opinion.

Well, let it be known that I've never (never!) written an online review for a product before. And as a dermatologist's daughter (who still got a LOT of sun, growing up in Southern CA playing outdoor sports for years not to mention a streak in highschool where I snuck to my bff's pool and slathered up with baby oil), I've used my fair share of products. Now in my early 30's, all that sunshine was showing up on my face. All of a sudden I had a network of fine lines under my eyes that seemed to appear in a matter of months! Love Elta MD. My new morning routine is the Eye Gel and the UV 46 Clear sunscreen, which is moisturizing but light, and also has niacinimide, which fights hyperpigmentation and little lines. It's a winning combo for me so far! Give the Eye Gel a shot it really works, and it's actually a lot less expensive than the other "medical grade" skin care lines out there! I'll be letting my dad know about this find as well... :)

Burt's Bees Lifeguard's Choice Weatherproofing Lip Balm , .15-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 6)

The feeling of this balm is thicker and more waxy/gummy than the regular Burt's Bees lip balm (which I love and use regularly), and is the best balm I've tried in protecting your lips from extremely harsh environmental conditions. Not the best choice for everyday, however, when in a more moderate, normal environment, and more conscious of your appearance in front of others. It will turn your lips, and skin around your lips that the balm touches, white (or at least paler in comparison to the rest of you) probably due to sunscreen ingredients. I still recommend Burt's Bees regular balm, or any of their others (honey, pomegranate, medicated) as I've tried them all and have had no problem with any except this one. If you were looking at this for a balm with sunscreen, I would recommend trying other brands, unless you don't mind the clownish white ring around your mouth. Kiss My Face makes some organic SPF 15 balms that I enjoy, and don't turn my lips white.

This lip balm is designed for spending a lot of time in the sun @ the beach, boating, skiing etc. It's called "LIFEGUARD's CHOICE WEATHERPROOFING" lip balm, not 'LIP BEAUTIFIER MAKEUP.' If you have ever seen a lifeguard or someone who spends a lot of time in the sun, they need some SERIOUS LIP BALM. The number 1 way to block UV light is with an opaque substance like titanium dioxide, and that is what is in this. Remember the old days of sun protection when the only way to prevent your nose and lips was to put on zinc oxide, regardless of how that looked?

This balm does give your lips a white cast, and I would even say that it looks good in the environment that it was designed for. Sexy outdoor beach dude look.

So when that's what you need, I highly recommend this lip balm, and if it's not what you need, then Burt's Bees has 20 other lip balms, flavored, shimmery, shiny and sparkly.

Yes, this lip balm will turn your lips white, and people will comment on that. HOWEVER, it is the only lip balm I have found that doesn't leave a chemical taste in your mouth if you're out in the sun being active and sweating. That's because it uses titanium dioxide rather than chemicals like oxybenzone to block the UV rays. The downside is, of course, that the titanium dioxide also turns your lips white. For me, I'd rather look a little silly than have a nasty taste in my mouth all day. Plus, this lip balm has the nice minty feel and taste of Burt's Bees regular lip balm, so it feels great.

I buy this sunblock every time I take a beach vacation and have never gotten a burn. It truly is a sunblock and not just a sunscreen product. Not too many sun protection lotions have titanium dioxide. It has been my experience that the titanium dioxide is the one ingredient that provides the protection I need.If you wanna get a little color, buy a "sunscreen" lotion.

I have four very pale children.I bought this because it is tear free and my two year old rubs her eyes.It is true, this is tear free as my daughter did not cry regardless of how many times she rubbed. Hence, the one star. However,the first time I used it, my toddler received a sunburn.The other three were apparently in the shade as the next day, after applying this sunblock, all four of my children received sunburns after an hour and half in the sun.Yes, we did apply this correctly.My whole family is very pale so I have quite a bit of experience with sunblock application.I will never buy this product again and I hope this review saves other children from sunburns!

Carmex Lip Balm, Cherry, 3 ct.

I generally use Neutrogena lip balm SPF 15 which is the same as Chap Stick SPF 15 without the 40% petrolatum. Neutrogena is clear, none tasting, no perfume, no wax, no PABA which is hard to find otherwise it has the same ingredients of Octinoxate and Oxybenzone. Neutrogena is great when I am mountain biking but not great 1)in real hot weather or 2)surfing in the ocean. For that I use Carmex 15 in the tube since 1)tube is the best to hold in the ingredients when melting 2)nothing offers the protection of the petrolatum in the salty water of the ocean. Carmex is 90% Vaseline+wax but in a small tube with SPF 15.

This Carmex lip balm is just the thing for dry lips and it's also a sun screen, which is an added plus.My girlfriend loves the taste of it.I am constantly applying more.What else can I say?If you have dry lips, or a girlfriend, use this product.

Well, I am a makeup hog.I like to try new things but have my favorites that I keep going back to.I have been having a foundation delema for a while now.I am 33 and starting to show my first signs of aging with fine lines around my eyes.I have always needed a lot of coverage for dark circles/uneven skin tone.The stuff I was using for coverage kinda exagerated my fine lines and also started to make my face cakey looking.I used to have oily/combo skin but now seems to have it's dry spells.

Well I heard on consumer reports that Oil of Olay regenerist was one of the best aging products.I heard that this makeup had that in it and wanted to try it.I did and I am very glad.It went on very smooth and silky, smelled nice almost like apples, gave me good coverage but didn't leave an unnatural finish.It covered my eyes with enough coverage but dried smooth and did't cake up.However at the end of the day there is a ever slight shine on my face, not enough to bother me I just think it looks dewy.

This product really does a good job covering imperfections! I love it and would purchase it again without a doubt.

I love love this foundation! It gives great coverage (was able to hide all my acne scars) but sadly doesnt work well with my acne problems. If you dont have oily skin i would suggest you give it a try!

I ordered the Maui Babe Beach Pack because of the stellar reviews the browning lotion received here on Amazon.Well, it certinly lives up to its name! I have never achieved such a brown, bronzed tan in such a short amount of time.I tan easily, but tend to get a reddish/brown at first. But with the SPF 30 lotion underneath the browning lotion, all I got was tan no redness! I like the after-sun lotion, but IMO any good body cream would do the same thing.I also suggest getting a quality sugar body scrub (like philosophy coconut frosting body scrub) to exfoliate your skin before tanning.This will give you an AMAZING tan and is an extra step so worth incorporating into your tanning routine. It works wonders if you scrub down before using Maui Babe Browning Lotion the results are just incredible & it makes a great product even better! I highly recommend these products :)

This is the stuff that works. For about 6-8 years now (I'm 54) I've had problems with the back of my hand(s) in wintertime--atopic eczema, chapping, dryness, red welts, blisters, severe itching. The first key to good care is to apply a cream IMMEDIATELY after washing or wetting your hands for any reason--within 2-3 minutes at most. Be sure to do that religiously no matter what moisturizing cream you use (a doctor told me this and it's a good tip). Don't let you hands dry naturally from a wetting--blot or towel dry and then apply cream right away. (Don't forget after showering.)

I've used and tried many creams for my condition and had this one (Eucerin Plus) around for a long time without quite "getting" how to use it. When I'd use it occasionally, it would sting and burn and didn't seem to work very well--seemed to sort of accentuate the redness. Well, I was using it wrong. Occasional applications just START to heal your hands without helping them heal all the way. The key to this product is to keep using it and use it LOTS, like several to many times a day. If I do that, my hands heal to the point where the cream doesn't sting any more at all and my hands heal remarkably well--my skin looks and feels completely normal, just like they are in summer except a little softer and smoother. First time for that in a number of years for me, in the winter. This product really works once you figure out how to use it most effectively.

My problem is that once my hands heal completely I start forgetting to use it until the problems start again, but that's a problem with me, not the product.

By the way, I have never even noticed any bad smell, as another reviewer complained about, but then I don't have a very good sense of smell.

Hope this review helps somebody out there...bad "winter hands" is a condition that is naggingly painful and uncomfortable if left untreated. This works for me.
