Over the past 6 months I have experimented with many brands. Kate Somerville wipes are the best, the Neutrogena spray is second, and Banana Boat (dark) is third. St. Tropez did not make my top 5 list. You will get results almost immediately, and the color will set in a few hours. However, the color is just a tad too orange-ish, and it easily builds up in creases (around the ankle, near toes, behind the knee) and it also builds up between my boobs.I do approve of the fragrance. Ok, I have mixed reviews about this product. While I loved the convenience of the 360 spray and the speed with which I could apply this to my entire body, I was disappointed with the intensity of the color. I am very fair and for me the use of tanning products is a must! I used the entire bottle in one application and the color was so subtle (but NOT orange!)I could barely tell that I used it. However, I did love the spray application (you barely have to blend it into your skin at all. (Use gloves to apply tanner making sure to moisturize knees, elbows, toes, ankles etc before starting. Lastly moisturize your fingernails and palms and spray the back of your hands) The spray made the process fast and easy. So if you are looking for some fast, subtle color I would recommend this product. Just make sure you use in a well ventilated area! The scent is very strong. I have been using this oil in tanning beds for about 3 years. I do understand that there are oils that are petroleum based that will harm tanning beds, this oil is all natural and will not harm a tanning bed. Also, I get a darker tan with this oil than any magic 100.00 bottles of lotions they are always trying to sell me when I go in to tan. This oil is all natural there is nothing in it that will harm your skin or cause cancer. Also it does not clog your pores since it is not petroleum based. Tanning is so good for you but can be hard on the skin, this oil keeps my skin smooth and not dried out. It has no strong scent to give me headaches or sinus problems. My husband also uses it for tanning and loves it.
Dr Mercola touts this as a good oil to use in his tanning beds... but it leaves incredible sticky residue on everything it touches. If it gets on clothing or towels, it stinks for many washes and will destroy anything else it's washed with in the washer. DO NOT USE IN A TANNING BED. It leaves a sticky residue that hot soapy water washes won't even remove.
We are very disappointed with these side effects and now we're stuck with two bottles we prob won't use unless we go to the beach.

I had been getting the Pixel Perfect laser treatments. I only got one kit, and had to have 3 laser sessions, so I thought I'd need another kit. Amazon *had* a REALLY great price, but I think I bought the last one that was priced so low. Anyway, I ended up not needing the extra kit for my procedures, by I fell in love with the products. The sunscreen and moisturizer are so nice. They melt right into your skin, leaving no oiliness or greasy feeling. The face wash is ok, I think that it really is meant for right after the procedure. It doesn't lather at all, and kind of just feels like putting cream on your face. I didn't feel like I had actually washed my face. I read all the reviews on this product after seeing the infomercial on TV. Being an optimist, I decided to try the acne complex despite the fact that some buyers were pleased with its results and others were extremely disappointed. I am in my mid-twenties and have had moderate acne since I was 13. I have tried every over-the-counter product around. For me, Murad worked well for the first week. My skin was completely clear and very smooth. Then I started getting large, painful cysts that took a long time to heal. I never review an acne product unless I've used it for more than 90 days. This a perfect example of why.
After 4 weeks using the Acne complex kit, my skin had almost completely cleared up and I had absolutely no new breakouts. The treatment gel made my skin and slightly itchy, but I didn't think anything of it. I was in heaven thinking I had FINALLY found something that worked.
During weeks five and six, whiteheads began popping up along my jawline and mouth. I think that Murad skin care products are great, more specifically, the acne complex kit. My 30 day kit is almost used up. Prior to this, I almost went insane because my acne, especially my blemishes, worsened during the second week of my usage. In fact, one morning my face was so bad you could play connect the dots. I began contemplating about taking again Accutaine, but decided to stick to using the kit. Two weeks after my connect the dots horror, my face started clearing up. I purchased this product for my mother and brother because they went to Jamaica a few weeks ago and they are very light skinned and don't really get a suntan at all and I did not want them to get a nasty sunburn being in Jamaica in the summer.The sun is extremely strong there, especially since it is near the equator.Anyway they used it and did not get a sunburn and they did get some color from being in the sun.There was one problem though.There is an ingredient in this Ocean Potion Anti-Aging SPF 30 lotion. It is one of the sunscreen ingredients called " Avobenzone ".
If you don't let the lotion completely dry before putting on your clothes OR if you sweat while you are wearing the lotion, that ingredient ( Avobenzone ) will turn your clothes orange in spots where the clothes touch the skin where it is wet from sweating, especially if the clothes are cotton and light colored or white.
Here is what I found out about it on Google...
" For some reason, depending on where you live, (because of the differences in the water of different regions) Avobenzone can cause a yellow discoloration on white cotton clothing. "
This happened to 3 of my mom's blouses and 4 of my brothers T-shirts and a dress shirt.
I was able to get the " stains" out from using a laundry spot pre-treater and then also I soaked them in the washing machine in hot water with a few scoops of OXYCLEAN and I let the washing machine run for 2 minutes to get a lather going and then I stopped it and I let the clothes sit in the washing machine with Oxyclean overnight.Then the next morning ( 8 hours of soaking ) I added laundry detergent ( the brand " ALL " ) and let the washing cycle continue and finish and then I put the clothes in the dryer and the stains were gone.
If you don't have Oxyclean, I am sure that almost any good, name brand laundry detergent, like " Tide, Purex, Cheer, Wisk or ALL ", would help if you used them to pre-treat the orange areas, rub it in, and then put the clothes in the washing machine with a capful or 2 of the same laundry detergent.Fill the washing machine with hot water and let it run for a few minutes to work up a lather then turn it off and let soak over night and you should get the same results I had from using Oxyclean.
So be careful when using this product.Make sure it is completely dry on your skin before you put your clothes on and if you start to sweat, well I guess you will just have to take a chance. At least now you know there is a way to get rid of the orange stains off a cotton white or light colored shirt.The orange spots were on the parts of the shirts on the shoulders,the elbow areas, and parts of the front of the shirt that hit the stomach area,
Other than the orange issue, this product works great as far as protecting peoples skin from getting a sunburn.

In my opinion this is the best 30 SPF sunblock out there. It is particularly outstanding in that it stings one's eyes a couple of hours after using it much, much less than other sunblocks tried. Let me add, however, that the 50 SPF Ocean Potion Sunblock does sting the eyes. Although not as important as the stinging issue, the 30 SPF sunblock also seems to be absorbed well by the skin. I often put it on in two thin layers about 20 minutes apart to limit the "goop factor", common with virtually all sunblocks. I had never used this sunblock before my wife brought some home from a Big Lots store. Run-of-the-mill stores do not seem to stock it. Fortunately, Amazon does. I have wavy hair and it gets freaking crazy after I wash it so I already put lotion in my hair afterwards. The idea is for people with dyed hair or people with frizzy hair (like me after washing) can apply a very small amount rub it through and it let's your hair fall the way it is supposed to. If you have short hair don't waste your time with it unless you just like the smell and how soft your hair is. Not sure why other people were saying it didn't have a smell or smells like chemicals. I don't use anything with sent ie deo, collogn, etc and when I put this on I definitely noticed and "man sent" was added and can resurface if my wife runs her hand through my hair. All in all I like the smell I just use it more for weekends or going out not everyday use, lotion is still cheaper!

This product costs $3 less at Target!Save a few bucks, and buy it there.I think it works great (my girls have short straight hair, so not as many tangle issues as curly haired kids).I first used Original Sprout Miracle De-tangler for my girls.It works amazingly well, but has a smell reminiscent of bug spray.My oldest, who is very sensitive to smells, hated it.CA Baby's smell is light and wonderful.
Now that she's 22 months old, she has hair that goes almost down to her shoulders when it's wet.Her hair is fine and she has lots of tight Little Orphan Annie curls.With her hair now being longer, this stuff no longer does anything for it at all.In fact, I'd say that it even dries her hair out.After using this, her hair turns into a frizzy mess in a matter of hours.Her hair seriously looks better WITHOUT this product in it.
I do love that the ingredients are safe and this stuff also smells fabulous.The bottle lasts a long time.I really do wish it would work.However, I've now switched over to using California Baby Calendula Conditioner in her hair to help tame it and that does work wonderfully but I'm still hoping to find a natural de-tangler that actually does what it's supposed to do.

I bought this when I bought my daughter a bottle of California Baby Calming Shampoo and Body Wash. I wanted a detangler with a scent that complimented the scent of her shampoo.
I'm very glad I did. It seems expensive, but the bottle lasts quite a long time. It definitely works, my daughter has very few tangles. There are a few occasional little stubborn knots that this doesn't help with, but those are just an inevitable side-effect of childhood and curly hair and I doubt anything but a stern brushing could help with those. I never brush, comb, braid, or otherwise style my daughter's hair without first wetting it down with this. It also tames the massive frizzies she gets after sleeping or swimming.
She has a copious amount of very fine, very curly hair. Often times, she looks like Einstein with ringlets. If this works for her crazy locks, it should work for just about any hair type.

I bought this for my 2-year old daughter's tangled hair, and was a bit disappointed with the product. We had to spray quite a lot to get the tangles out. She has longer, straight hair that sometimes got knotted after bath. I felt like I had to spray quite a bit to make a difference. If you're going to spend money on a detangling product, I'd suggest getting the CA baby conditioner and bypassing the detangling spray. And it is!It has a wonderful smell, though to be honest, the boys could care less, but I like it, sort of a lighter, beachy smell.It isn't that heavy coconut smell of sunscreen old, this has a light very pleasing scent to it.
It's light, making it easy to spread onto their faces quickly.No more rubbing, and rubbing, and rubbing to get it to absorb, this does the job quickly and relatively cleanly.
There's also no oily film on your hands either, something I never liked.
We have used this for almost two weeks straight, and so far no burns, no complaining of stinging eyes as they sweat.
Sunscreen isn't cheap and at $8.50 for six ounces this follows suit, but it's very worth it in my book.We are getting ready to head to the Caribbean, and I am already stocking up!

The great thing about this new Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration sunscreen is that to me it isn't just sunscreen, but much more! I hate the kind of sticky feeling that most sunscreens leave on my hands and skin, but HT Silk Hydration is creamy like a lotion without the sticky feeling. I have used this product a few times now, and even if it's just a few mere minutes before I go out in the sun and I've just put the sunscreen on, it still does it's job. I even put this sunscreen on my face and it doesn't break it out which of course is a big plus. I love the smell of it (pina colada/coconut)! It's the perfect summery scent! After being in the sun and water for several hours, my skin doesn't feel dried out, either, thanks for the hydration part of this sunscreen. This is the only sunscreen my family uses hubby, son and me.As someone who has a family history of skin cancer, my dermatologist insists that I use a product with a *physical* barrier, not just chemical ones that wear off quickly.She favors zinc oxide, and this is one of only a few easy-to-find, moderately priced sunscreens that contain it regular Coppertone Water Babies doesn't, so make sure you are picking up the "Pure & Simple" version.The ZO does make your skin very white when you first put in on.It takes a bit of rubbing to get it worked in, but the results are very worth it.No sunburns for any of us, and it holds up well to swimming and sweating (we reapply ever couple of hours, of course :)It's not greasy and doesn't irritate my son's sensitive skin.I hope Coppertone makes this product forever!

When I started using this product last year, it was the best physical sunscreen I could find that was moderately priced. At around $8 per bottle for a product that was 14% zinc oxide based, I figured I would give it a try. Like others have reviewed here, this is a fantastic sunscreen. The zinc oxide at 14% weight/volume is significantly denser than any other sunscreen I found on the market and provides fantastic protection.I would also add that the things that keep me using it are also that it is fragrance free and has no smell at all, doesn't have that bitter taste that regular sunscreens have when you get them in your mouth, does not irritate my eyes, and it doesn't sting or irritate sensitive skin areas like around my eyes. Other people have said that it irritates eyes, but I did not find that to be the case at all. It does cast a haze if you get it in your eyes, but that is all.
I found a couple of catches with this product
-if it for some reason gets in my eyes, it sticks to my contacts and casts a white haze until I take them out and clean them.
-it rubs off on stuff like clothing and my cell phone, but does wash off.
-it is hard to rub it. While the micronized zinc oxide has no color, the the solute does and takes quite a bit of rubbing to get it to spread and evaporate
The reason I love this product is that for a very reasonable price, At 14% zinc oxide, it provides dense protection. Most other products labeled "with zinc oxide" really only contained a few percent and relied on chemical sunscreens for the majority of their protection. This sunscreen is exactly the same as Coppertone's "sensative & Fragrance free" sunscreen but I found it is cheaper when I buy it in this pink bottle.The EWG rates sunscreen for health, they are the go-to experts for sunscreen ratings.For 2011, see .
All the best sunscreens are expensive, hard to find, or both.On the other hand, the "sensitive skin" and "pure and simple" lines of Coppertone only rated a 3 (1=best 10=worst), which is good, and they are well priced and easy to find.
I find this a perfect compromise.We used Copper Tone Water Babies Pure and Simple last year and have bought it again for this year.It has the protection I want, a name I trust AND is recommended by the Environmental Working Group.It rubs in easily and still doesn't have the harsh harmful chemicals that are found in most mainstream sunscreens.For my family this is the perfect balance.You add that I can get it on amazon for a great price, and this Mommy is VERY happy :)

I carefully reviewed the guidance by the Environmental Working Group, then looked on Amazon only for the top tier sunscreens.I then chose the least expensive among that top tier.We tried this on our kids and it works great!Also unlike other sunscreens you don't have to wait after applying it before going in the water.The only disadvantage for those who care about this sort of thing is that it is visibly white where the sunscreen is applied, though I consider that an advantage that way you know you didn't miss a spot on your children.
Pros: I've only really used the sunscreen and face stick once so far this Summer but it definitely seems to get the job done. In saying this I'm of course making the assumption that my son would've been burned without it (he's 16 months old and Mulatto so he's never been burned).
In terms of waterproof I would definitely say so because myself not being very experienced with sunscreen I tried to apply it before driving and when trying to wash it off at the sink with soap and water it was not an easy task to get it off. It is somewhat oily but that is to be expected so that it doesn't break down when in contact with sweat or water.
Cons:
The face stick itself is a bit difficult to rub in because it is not very pliable. The sunscreen itself is much easier to work with and both have a fairly neutral smell.
These products being fairly white do seem to stain things a bit, I haven't really tried to get out the stains but they don't look like they'll come out of his car seat... This is probably true of a lot of sunblocks, especially natural ones I suspect.

I was really enthusiastic about getting this product, but I've been fairly disappointed with it. It is an EXCELLENT sunscreen, and has a good waterproof duration, but I found it more trouble than it was worth. It is super thick and waxy, which makes it hard to spread and results in a very visible white residue all over. I'm fairly tanned by nature, and I was shocked to see this made my skin look very pale. No amount of thin application or rubbing-in will reduce how considerably it discolors my skin tone. The next problem I had with it was that it had a fairly potent, waxy smell to it. Not the good kind either. I'm really sensitive to scents, so I didn't like how if I put on just a bit too much, the scent would give me headaches. Lastly, I found that NONE of my friends wanted to share this sunscreen with me. They'd try it once, and from that point on, bring their own sunscreen. It's incredibly embarrassing and disappointing to host a pool party and not be able to provide your guests with sunscreen.That being said... it's a good product for what it is, and I'd recommend it for young children and people who aren't as nit-picky as I am.

Update:It was my favorite sunscreen for a while, but recently I switched to banana boat 30spf sports ultra mist. The banana boat doesn't need help spreading, creates minimal mist cloud while spraying and much less oily. Worked better for us.

Pros:
-Spreads easily. Need some help after spraying but super easy.
-Almost tear free. Used it on my face and my 2 yo and 10 mo kids. The baby is _extremely_ sensitive, and was tearing a bit. It didn't bother any other kids who tried it on.
-Effective. No sunburns although it is only 30 spf and we are very light skinned.
-Truly waterproof. When applied you can really feel it on. After applying I tried washing it with cold water, then hot water and then hot water with soap. Only with the hot water with soap I felt it starting to wash away.
-Doesn't create a cloud of mist you breathe when spraying, unlike other sprays. Although it is still better to use in an open space or outside.
-Nice fragrance.
Cons:
-Somewhat oily. I imagine it could be a problem for acne prone people.
-Makes your skin shine (because of the oily substance). Not something I'm particularly fond of.
-Requires some help spreading on the skin after spraying (but as I mentioned it spreads very easily)
Overall I am happy with this sunscreen and it is the one I use the most out of the 4 different kinds we have. I found it to be the easiest to use for impatient kids as well, and I keep the bottle in the stroller for the whole family to use on the go.
