Satin Smooth Wax Zinc Oxide 14 oz. Jar (Sensitive)

I have tried all Satin Smooth' waxs out there and I think based on my skin condition ( acne n supper sensetive ) I rreally like This Zinc Oxide wax the best.

I do my own waxing. I use Gigi products and have tried the extra sensitive, chocolate, coarse hair and honey wax. I have to say that this is by far my favorite. I've used it twice already on my mustache and chin area and found that there is less irritation and no breakouts. This is billed as "zinc oxide ointment":actually it is 20% zinc oxide.It works well to treat or prevent diaper rash, but I prefer a higher concentration of this active ingredient--at least 40%.The ingredients were not specified before buying.

The zinc oxide is only 20 percent in this, so it's not very effective for diaper rash.Desitin or store brands at the same percentage (40) is a much better purchase.

This didn't seem to do much for me....The cooling bit seemed to be more of a burning sensation at times.Plus, if I remember correctly (I quit using this a couple of months ago), it didn't protect that well and I got a bit crispy which hasn't happened with most of the lotions I've tried.....Oh and pay attention to the bit about the cap breaking...mine did and I didn't think I'd hardly put any pressure on it.

Rated as a fairly safe sunscreen by EWG,without the whitening effect. It's rather thick, but rubs in well. The texture reminds me of thick, creamy, butter cream frosting (added bonus, if you ask me). The smell is faint yet very pleasant, natural and somewhat frosting-like as well. I didn't mind smelling it on my skin at all and I usually hate the chemical sunscreen smell that comes with chemical sunscreens. The tubes are easy to store in a purse or a bag. I wore it by the pool for a couple of hours and got no tan, no redness, no burns. I highly recommend.

I LOVE this stuff. I got really into mineral make up after getting a set of it for Christmas. I have bad acne, scars and some spots that don't want to go away. They are fading with the use of different products, but until they're done going away, which I'm sure they will, I need good coverage. This stuff is great. I first got it as a show make up, for plays I did. So I got it darker than normal. I liked it because it was smooth to apply dried on with great coverage, but you CAN'T leave it on by itself, it rubs off very easily even after drying. What you need to do is put it on, you can use smaller dabs as concealer or use a actual concealer, I do both, depending. Most of the time, I can use just a little extra of the foundation to cover a spot, other times I use Neutrogena Healthy skin concealer. When this product wasn't available in stores anymore, I went to their Healthy Skin line. It is close, but not the coverage I'd like. This stuff is perfect. You just need a little help. Like I said, if you have spots like me, a concealer would be helpful. I haven't tried the mineral one that goes with Maybelline's mineral line, but I think I will. What I do is put on the foundation with my fingers or a foundation brush. I give it a second to try. While I get out my bronzer and blush type thing. Then I put on Maybelline's shine free loose powder in light to help it set. Then I put on my other face make up and then apply the powder again. It looks a little odd for about ten minutes, but once it sets in, it's AMAZING. It's perfect. Like I said, I have acne problems and scars, hides it all and doesn't bother me with more acne. It stays all day, worn it from a early morning rehearsal to he end of a show at midnight. So it stays on a LONG time. Even with reapply stage make-up. Great product. Wish I could find it in stores.

Badger Natural Sport Sunscreen SPF 35

If you are in the market for a mineral sunscreen, Badger Sport Sunscreen SPF 35 is a very good option. Aside from zinc oxide, it has only five other ingredients. It is water-resistant which can be a problem of other very fine products from distributors such as Purple Prairie Botanicals which aren't water-resistant.

If you are not familiar with this type of product, namely mineral sunscreens, you need to keep in mind:

Mineral sunscreens, unlike chemical ones, do not absorb into your skin. They act as a physical barrier to the sun's damaging rays. This is in marked contrast to chemical sunscreens that rely on chemicals to disperse the sun's damaging rays. These chemicals are absorbed by the skin and are the problem. If you check out EWG.org, you will see a listing of each ingredient in the sunscreen you select and the potential damage (allergy, hormone disruption, cancer, etc.).

Mineral sunscreens rely on Zinc or Titanium minerals as their primary ingredient. Because of this, you are going to have to deal with a white residue from mineral sunscreens (thus, their name). In my research, this is the most common complaint. My family concurs with this -especially if you put on the amount you are supposed to.

Lastly, people have complained about the odor of this sunscreen. This can easily be solved by looking at the very SMALL list of ingredients: olive oil, beeswax, cacao seed butter, shea butter, jojoba seed oil. For me, it smells of olive oil and shea butter.

I wish that the size of the tube and the cost were a bit more equitable considering how much you are to put on to maintain the SPF.

The Badger Unscented Broad Spectrum SPF 35 Sport Sunscreen is given a very high safety rating by the EWG Skin Deep Cosmetics Database which means that it contains no known potential irritants, carcinogens or other toxic ingredients.Also, its efficacy in providing UVB/UVA protection is highly rated.However, I have two problems with this sunscreen:

1.My primary concern is that this sunscreen is extremely thick, quite possibly the thickest sunscreen I have ever tried!For that reason, I am limited as to its use and cannot use it on my face.I would rather not have to buy a separate sunscreen for my face and therefore prefer sunscreens with more of a lotion consistency for faster, easier application anywhere.

2.This unscented sunscreen has a strong, definite scent which, although not that unpleasant, is not supposed to be there!The scent is very similar to that of my colloidal oatmeal hand lotion and could be due in part to shea butter, a common ingredient in both.

Bottom line:If you need a very safe, effective sunscreen for any part of your body other than your face and don't mind a distinctive scent, this would certainly be worth a try!

I'd been using Coppertone Sport SPF 50 for the last few years, which seemed to work fine, but recently, I've been having photo-sensitivity issues, where despite accurately applying the sunscreen, I'd break out in nasty hives (and occasionally, welts) from being outside.Not so good when you're a nature photographer & outside in the Texas heat!I'm also day-glo white, thanks to a job that keeps me indoors for the majority of the day (seriously, I swear I glow in the dark), and my fair skin is highly prone to sunburn, so a good, protecting sunscreen is a MUST.

After receiving high Environmental Safety ratings, and reading up on Badger Sunscreens, I thought I'd give this a try.

The Good:

* I haven't any photo-sensitivity issues with this sunscreen. Not one single itch, hive, or welt.

* There is a scent, and as another reviewer stated, it smells vaguely of oatmeal.I tend to be somewhat sensitive to odor, but this didn't bother me.

The Bad:

* Sad to say, I still ended up sunburned. Not as bad if I'd gone without, so I'll give it some credit there

* I do know that with a mineral-based sunscreen, you have to rub & rub & rub it in, yet despite doing that, allowing about 10 minutes before allowing contact with cloth (ie, my shirt), and a full 1/2 hour before going out into the sun, it still ended up rubbing off all over my car, my camera bag, my clothes, and everything else.

* It also sweated off fairly easily, particularly at the crooks of my elbows.

* As another reviewer pointed out, it's also greasy.I always end up washing my hands after application, before I can touch anything, and I still end up having to scrub.

As the title says, I really don't know how to call this one the good is enough to keep me using it, but I'm quickly getting disillusioned, and looking for other alternatives.

CONS: 1) This sunscreen is sooo greasy that you will leave residue all over anything you touch (i.e. my car stearing wheel, my clothes, cellphone, anything!). I felt gross. 2) It leaves a white cast on your skin no matter how much you rub it in. I looked like a Japanese Kabuki actor walking around my neighborhood. And I'm already pretty white to begin with. 3) It is very thick, so rubbing it in is difficult. I had to tug at my skin, which may've caused more wrinkles than the sunscreen was supposed to prevent. 4) The scent is NOT unscented. It smells like oatmeal dough batter, but... not very good dough. Someone else described it smelling like dog biscuits. That's fairly accurate.

PROS: 1) I was very confident in the protection it provided. It has one of the highest levels of zinc oxide available on the market. 2) The ingredients are non chemical and safe for use according to the Environmental Working Group's 2012 Sunscreen Guide. It was rated as one of the best sunscreens.

Sadly I had to return it. It is ok if you plan to go out and get all sweaty (like at the beach or for sports). But for an everyday sunscreen, I couldn't handle it. Sorry Badger! I'm sticking with my Burn Out Clean and Clear.

I've been using the Therapro Therapeutic Scalp Rinse as a conditioner for my psoriatic little head for years and years nowand it's still the only thing that works. Along with the matching shampoo, it's the perfect system for keeping the flakes under control and minimizing spreading.

Reputable companies would more than likely refrain from such tactics. The overall result was so-so, but I wish they would eliminate any gimmicks.

Obagi Physical Nu Derm Sunblock SPF 32 (2 oz)

My main criteria for an everyday moisturizer is:

1. non-greasy

2. has SPF

3. low toxicity according to the Safe Cosmetics Database

4. affordable

This product hits all of what I'm looking for.

1. I have normal to oily skin. This product did not make my face feel greasy or oily after I blended it in (as other moisturizer+spf products I've used in the past). My face had a nice dewy feeling after putting on this moisturizer, and I was able to apply concealer and powder foundation over this product without any problems. After a week of use my face didn't break out, or show any adverse reactions.

2. Zinc oxides are a great type of sunscreen, but unfortunately most of the products I've ever used with zinc oxide is EXTREMELY difficult to completely rub into the skin. This was pleasantly not an issue for me, the moisturizer is white, but spreads easily and disappears into the skin so I don't look like a ghost after applying this product.

3. It's a futile attempt to try to have no exposure to any toxins with everything we come across in our life. But for a daily product, I really wanted something that had a low toxicity rating on the Skin Deep Cosmetics Database, and this one was one of the lowest for moistruizer+spf that's still within my budget.

4. There are some steep discounts right now, and totally worth it.

This is the first review I've done for any type of cosmetics, but I just feel compelled to share this find. Hope others will also find it to be amazing as I have.

Best natural chemical free sunblock period!! Tried and researched many, nothing comes close. Even though some claim to be natural or organic, you will still find chemicals in them.

This stuff is great.I have tried no less than 6 different zinc natural sunscreens.They all worked fine except all were really thick, greasy, and left my kids a purple-white color.Unless I kept rubbing.
