Mexitan SPF 15 All Natural Biodegradable Sunscreen 8oz
OK, the stuff is called 'Mexitan', and you have to admit that's pretty cheesy.The 'all natural' and 'biodegradable' thing caught me, though, so I ordered it.I thought it was going to be one of those hippy products that sound wonderful but don't work.I was surprised.This stuff is *excellent*.Mexitan (I still can't get over the name...) goes on smoothly and stays on even after swimming.It's thicker than some other products, but I like that.A little goes a long way.I've used it on the kids, and they like it too.It doesn't really smell like anything.There's no strong perfume to knock you out.Once it's on, it's invisible, but you have to rub it in really well.If you use too much you will end up with that white-clown-makeup look.
I will definitively buy this again.We frequent the beach often, and spend a lot of time in the sun.This year I have the best no-burn suntan I've had in my adult life.
1. The best sunblock in the world isn't as effective as protective clothing that blocks the light.This means a layer of tight-woven fabric that can fully block sunlight, and a broad-brim hat or umbrella.
2. If you're not going to cover up like that, then you need a sunblock.There are two types: "physical blockers" and chemicals that are, effectively, UV dyes.The later category are normally called "chemical" blocks and include things like Avobenzone etc.The word "chemical" is not the accurate scientific usage, because zinc oxide is a chemical just as much as Avobenzone is, it just isn't a dye.However I'll use those terms because, inaccurate as they are, those are the terms in common use.
3. The best sunblocks are the "physical blockers" which include both zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.Failing that you need a broad-spectrum "chemical" blocker.
The problem with the physical blockers is they do create a transparent white-ish film on the skin.Hardly visible, but it's there.The problem with the "chemical" sunblocks is that they have a tendency to cause eye irritation, etc.On the balance, I prefer the superior protection and lack of irritation from the "physical blockers".
Of the physical blockers, zinc oxide is broader spectrum, but it's best to have a sunblock that has both the zinc and titanium.
Which brings us back to this sunblock.It's titanium and zinc.It's in a big bottle.Really, when you're getting a physical blocker sunblock that's titanium and zinc, they're all the same.The differences are in packaging, smell, marketing, feeling of the carrier (lotion), etc.The active ingredient is what it is and I doubt there's any difference from one zinc oxide to another zinc oxide.
For me, I like this lotion because the lotion feels good, smells good, and it's cheap.Don't believe marketing claims.Just go with a zinc / titanium that's pleasant to use, such as this one.

I've used Mexitan 15 and 30 on crazy hot / bright days, and spent a lot of time out in the sun. It works great, stays on for a minimum of 3 hours (which was as long as I spent outside). You do need to make sure and rub it in to disappear, but I think that's actually a plus you know when it is in good for maximum protection. Smells good too (not like chemicals). LOVE IT..

I spent a long time researching sunscreens that were actually more beneficial than harmful to the body. This sunscreen fits the bill perfectly. It's also biodegradable so you can safely use it if you go to eco-parks which is a nice feature.
I've used this sunscreen in Mexico, Aruba and the Gulf Coast and it's worked perfectly everywhere. You do need to reapply if you go in the water as it gets washed off. There is also a learning curve to the application process. Unfortunately this is the sacrifice to having a healthy sunscreen. You pretty much need to apply it until the white tint goes away and stop. If you continue to rub the sunscreen will begin to flake off.
Beyond this small issue this sunscreen is perfect. Other sunscreens might be easier to use but much more harmful to you than this stuff.

This sunscreen goeson very easily a little bit thicker than traditional brands, but easily rubs into the skin without leaving a film on the skin.It hasa little bit of a fruity smell(which I like).I have used it on fairly hot days when I have gone running and it seemed to protect without sweating off.My husband uses the SPF30 and it works just as well.He has had problems in the past with sunscreen stinging his skin -no problem with this brand.I recommend it.

After my mother had a few cancerous moles removed, I became quite vigilant about sunscreen at the ripe old age of 16.Unfortunately, despite buying the highest SPF sunscreens, and reapplying every 2 hours, I would inevitably end up tanned or worse yet, burnt.Blotchy breakouts on my face from even the most gentle of sunscreens was to be expected.When i had children, who also had sensitive skin, my quest for a good, safe sunscreen became more important.We're outside every day in the summer, and we play hard.I wanted to find a good sunscreen that could protect us all, preferably without rashes and breakouts.

Last year we used Alba Botanica Mineral Sunblock which was great but it had a weird smell to it which I wasn't too fond of.
Anyway The Kids Natural applies super easy if you work it fast! Don't take your time because the slower you work the harder it is to apply and smooth out which results in white blotches.
It smells pleasant and the kids don't seem to mind. If you do decide to jump into the pool you will find out that you start looking like a corpse that has been floating in the river for two days but the sunscreen eventually comes off and you go back to normal. After all it clearly reads that you need to reapply after swimming so that's fine with me.
However I can see that this might be a con for some people but lets just be honest... It works like a charm, it smells good and it is a low hazard product for a great price. To me that's all that matters. WE LOVE IT

I did tons of research on safe sunscreens, and got this one and the TruKids brand as well. This is more the one my husband and I use, because it's cheaper than TruKids and easier to spread on. It has a nice light scent, rubs in easily, and doesn't take half the bottle for one beach day. I did miss having higher SPF protection (even though I know supposedly anything above 30 or 45 isn't proven), and felt I had to reapply more often on my arms to prevent burning. Based on the picture for this product, I thought I was going to get the ORIGINAL Carmex formula in stick form. But that is not what I got. I got the new formula, the "everyday protecting lip balm" which is NOT what is pictured. In use, this product does what it claims to do... protects you from the harmful UV rays of the sun and prevents you from achieving any semblance of a tan.Rumors that it attracts mythological creatures such as Griffons and the like are probably untrue.I didn't see more than one minotaur since I've been wearing this sunscreen and I apply it generously to my bodice every day, even if I am staying indoors. And come to think of it, the one minotaur I did see could have been the Schwan's foodservice delivery guy.

I love to wear my Dinair airbrush makeup, but hate that the only suscreen offered for any of the airbrush systems specifically, is a 1-2 ounce tube for (literally) $35!!!!!!The $35 oil free, waterbased sunscreen, is sold by Dinair. I have no clue if this Derma Topix sunscreen is waterbased. I have checked all of the other big airbrush companies I could think of with no luck (for any suggested or for sale with 30 spf or higher sunscreen). This stuff works great for me under both airbrush and reguar makeup. Never makes me break out, either!!!!

This foam completely dries out my hair no matter how little or much I use.I find sticking to just the shampoo and conditioner works perfectly fine and does a fantastic job.This foam does the exact opposite of what a scalp treatment should do. I am a mother to five very active children ages 12 and under.We have used this Continuous Spray sunscreen of coppertones since it was introduced to the market!!!This is an EXCELLENT product to use.I don't know why people are saying that they are getting sunburned.We have a pool that the kids are in all day and we also spend alot of time at beaches.We have never gotten a sunburn that wasn't warranted with our lack of reapplying. When we are at home using the pool I don't even spray the kids legs or feet.At the beach or waterpark I do spray the legs and feet because lets face it, the sand is brutally hot and they are not always in the water like they are at home in the pool.As with all "waterproof" sunscreens, you need to reapply quite often.Its not like "waterproof" means you have impenetrable skin.It comes off when you are in the water after a while or especially when you are using toys in a pool, or are on rides at a waterpark.Whatever your skin touches you are rubbing off the lotion. Its not going to rub right off, but in time it does wear off.So just reapply.Your skin must be dry, this is true of all sunscreens.
I have one child that is a very fair skinned toehead and he never burns when we use this on him.As for the face, I spray the sunscreen on my hands rub it in and then rub my hands all over their face and ears.You do get overspray when spraying the lotion on but its not much.
As for the staining of the spray, all sunscreens, even the lotions, stain.This is why I apply the sunscreen to their bodies only when they have their bathing suits on.And sometimes I have them pull the pants down (boys) just a bit to spray the tan line areas so I don't waste the spray on the clothing.You wouldn't apply lotion and have it touch the edges of your clothing either.Once the sunscreen is on and dried (spray), or rubbed in (lotion), I never get staining.
This is an EXCELLENT CHOICE of spray sunscreen and I highly recommend it for the days on the beaches when you have no way of washing lotion off your hands after applying!!!I have been using it for years and LOVE IT!!!
This stuff stained our bathing suits, towels, t-shirts, etc., a strange yellow color, and it doesn't come out in the wash either. I had to throw out a number of items that were ruined. On top of that, after showering and scrubbing my skin still felt "gummy", it seems to take several showers to get it off. AWFUL!

My family and I only use Coppertone Kids and I use it successfully every single day of the year. The very first thing I do when I get up in the morning is shower and put sunscreen on every single day. I have NEVER been burned. My husband who has the palest Dutch skin uses Coppertone Kids before running and riding his bike and he has yet to get any sun either. The users who had issues were applying it incorrectly. This cannot be applied in a windy place because it will "float" and it does need to be applied directly to the face either by spraying it on the hands first and then rubbing it in or by spraying around closed eyes. Our 3 year old nephew will stand still for a quick spray down and he knows the drill of putting his head up and down and then getting his ears and face last. Reapplication is the key, but a bottle should last quite a long time. I apply sunscreen every day and one bottle will last me at least four weeks. While I love the convenience of this aerosol can...it burned my children's faces!I thought they were exagerating when they said it burned, but when I put it on my face it burned me also!My husband said it didn't bother him one bit tho.We also tried the Coppertone Sport SPF 30 Continuous spray and it burned us also.Neither of us have really sensitive skin either.Maybe it was just us??...but I have never had this problem with sunblock before.
As for the products actual effectiveness...yes it works!I never put sunblock on my arms but forgot to wash my hands after putting it on my children and had tanned arms with whiter hands...so it does work!But since it burns our faces so bad, we are going to stick with Water Babies (which is still a Coppertone brand, so I don't know why this one burns and theirs doesn't??).
A problem with the aerosol continuous spray...it does run out fast.After applying to a family of 4 twice the can is pretty much empty.This isn't a problem with this particular brand, just a problem with all aerosol continuous spray sunblocks.It's convenient, but traditional lotion sunblock will be cheaper over time.

I was really, really excited for this product to hit shelves. I was able to get a packet and try it today, and I can say that I was expecting a lot more. I did not notice any real color difference after getting out of the bed, and six hours later still nothing. The smell is great, before AND after. It has great moisturizing capabilities. But this is a lie.
There is no mention in the description that the double picture means nothing.
You get only one by paying double the price.
Better to buy in other place where an honest image, truthful description and fair price.
My husband loves the cherry Carmex, but I always have a hard time finding it in stores.I thought two tubes of Carmex for $6 wouldn't be a bad deal for a stocking stuffer.
Joke is on me though.One tube of Carmex for $6.Lesson learned, read the reviews first.
Regardless of the price, my husband loves this product.Carmex in a tube always melts in his pocket, and he much prefers the scent of the cherry Carmex to the original.

I recently bought this Carmex Cherry lip balm. I had been disatisfied after using Chapstick for many years. Chapstick was ok, but I hated how often I felt like I had to reapply. I also don't like a balm that feels too slick/oily. I've tried many products over the years and there are only a couple I like, and this is now one of them. I can put it on before bed and down't wake up at night with dry lips. The menthol is a light refreshing feeling and I like the cherry scent. It does have some of that familiar Carmex smell to it. But, overall I love that I don't have to apply it as often. I love that it leaves a nice finish on my lips without being too sticky or alternatively too slick.
